Hauling a Combine without a Semi

- I'd like to think of it as farmer ingenuity. Brennan bought this combine in Kentucky and was getting ridiculous quotes for hauling it. So we took action to get results. A local police truck followed us for at least five miles. He didn't do anything. We had flashers and a triangle, plus the combine is yellow, all which looks like safety.

Jacob this video made me feel allot better for now I know there are other people out there doing crazy things like me! I was convinced I was alone.
Haha come on if we're not all crazy we will all be an insane. 😅.
😂😂🤣
I never would have done that, but my hats off to you for coming up with the idea and having the balls to do it. Good job sir 👍👍✌️
My thoughts exactly
Wow! What a adventure indeed! Moving that hugh combine was definitely impressive! I can't Invision being pulled over on the side of the highway. Cars and trucks zooming by. Jacking that thing up. Changing that tire on the dolly! Fantastic work guys! I tip my hat to you both! 👍
We had great providence that the tire blew right before a near perfect pull off spot.
Thx Jacob , for taking us on this trip . Love your content.
That was quite the adventure…glad everything went smoothly!👍
Danger, danger Will Robinson ! I love it.
Thanks for bringing us along on the adventures Jacob!
Nice job both of you. Have a good day.
That was a pretty ballsy project!
You boys are crazy. Love it.
that 4700 international was one of your best investments i bet good old trucks
Good job Jacob! You're much braver than I am trailing that combine.
Now that was some determination, hats off to you.
Worked pretty slick! 6 years ago I built a heavy duty tow bar and towed my JD 3300 combine 80 miles home with my F600 grain truck. Best I could do was about 25 MPH. Got kinda bouncy if I went over that.
D.O.T and probably some other alphabet agencies would like a word with you two. LMAO 😂 that was gutsy, awesome video!
It's a good thing the bearings held up on the combine and the tires never went flat!
Nice job. Mayer equipment I went by there when I bought my 2144 in Wilmington.
And I thought it was interesting when I towed 3 Gleaners 15 miles each to the scrap yard. I had a tow bar with tie rod rigged up to pull them backwards like a waygon. Way to live on the edge guys😎👍
Never under estimate the effectiveness of Guardian Angels.
You two are nuts. Entertaining, but nuts
That was quite an adventure!
Only Jacob would be crazy enough to haul that, and also believe Ohio doesn't have hills.🤦🤦
I'm in Southeast Ohio.. The hills are plentiful and roads are goat paths
Wow! Impressive. Don’t think I could have done that. 👍🏻
Now that’s a good way to move a combine and save money, good job 👍
Wildlife police are generally state police officers, just with extra training for dealing with the wildlife side of the law. They can pull you over just as easily as any other state police can.
I can't believe you were even thinking of this stunt! Likely the cops were not willing to go thru all the paperwork of figuring out all the violations! You were plain stupid lucky. It's bad enough to try it on a short trip, bur cross country for a few hundred miles, you were a disaster looking for a place to happen.
Violation of what?
Depending on Ky and OH law’s he probably didn’t brake any law because he is a farmer unless Brennan paid him to haul it and if he barters time with Brennan then who the hell cares, I admire the creativity willingness to save money
I saw someone doing similar with a 4400 or 6600 jd.
Took me a hot second to figure out what was going on in front of me.
More fun was that it is Driftless region bluff country and it was a 1 ton pickup pulling it.
Wow, a famous RUclipsr in my neck of the woods! We’re 7 miles west of that bridge near Dover.
That's a good combine I've pulled a motor on one of those super easy can have it out in half a day!
By chance you know where one is?
You guys are nuts I would have bit the built and paid for a lowboy truck .
We have a TR98 and TR96 nice video
Sketchy stuff, but loving it. Just hope it works out cost effectively.
Great video. Next time you pull something like that put some type of weight over the rear axle of your truck believe it or not it will make a difference on how much traction you have and the driveability of the truck
Nice machine
Good video.
With no tounge weight the drive axle on your truck had to be way too light for all the weight you were towing. Real easy for things to get all kinds of squirrelly and jack-knife, Especially when braking.
Back in early 80 s we moved 3 151 IH and 1 403 ih combines that way we used are cultivator hitche also IH bolted on back frame of combines the were hillside models pulled with 2 ton IH truck 2 we jacked rear wheels up in air combine work very well no permits or any thing back then 50 55 mph down main HWY
i hauled a 1941 ford 9n home using my chevy colorado and a uhaul dolly at 25mph it got some looks but she made it home oh the kicker is the 70 year old dryrotted tires that somehow still have air in the tubes
I had my brother help me drag one home, what was an hour and a half drive away with the truck was a whole day coming back. Blew a tire on the combine, just kept going, almost ran out of gas, and ran out of daylight. He wasn't happy when we got home, but we didn't have much to eat all day so he might have been just hungry.
Just another bunch of young farmers in the winter. Back when I was one, in the 60's, we would do crazy things. At least your doing much 😅better.
Nice video
You are braver than me
Amazed that the big combine tires or transmission didn't give problems (not an expert on these). Also, did the "implement tire" do better than the airplane tire?
Implement tire was thinner so it dissipated the heat better.
I need to make a dolly like that be easier then hauling combines on my gooseneck behind my f450
Daring adventure for sure! What is Brennen’s channel?
Who did the engineering on the Towbar? And how did you know it would work out? I mean someone had some knowledge.? I've seen your experience on farm equipment before, but Jacob you just simply amazed! And I also really appreciate the inventory video previously. Now, I can't wait to see what you're going to do next. Just how many miles did this adventure take? Western PA Skip
We were over 100 miles total.
We tested the dolly on my TR86. But we didn't have to redo anything. Brennan is a welder and machinist. I come from a family of various types of engineers. So without a university ticket, we are farm qualified, lol.
Man looked like u all was flying . If u had to stop quickly it would b Katty bar da door ....
Did you unhook the final drives from the hydraulic motor?
Yes we did
Whew. Made it.
Great job. Were you close to Flemingsburg? Where did you deliver it to? Thanks
Near Xenia Ohio
@@tr165eaglebsa4 That's half of my questions answered.Thanks
so funny story that farm you got the combine from is actually right down the road from my uncles farm that church is the church we have have family reuions at
t
I watch for the seat of the pants farming
Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me looks like cords are showing on the implement tires on that dolly😆
They're not playing tricks on u causei noticed it also lol
They are airplane tires. There's another 3/4 inch of rubber below.
Big yes very big
What is Brennan’s channel?
FN crazy!😂
Where’s Nick?
Not a bit of weight on the back of the truck, just all hitch weight. Perfect farmer yank lol. I wouldn’t even want to do what you did with my heavy spec peterbilt with no weight on the truck.
"all hitch weight" ? Not much weight on the hitch if you actually pay attention to what you're seeing lol. Your dads "heavy spec peterbilt" wouldn't make much difference even if you did have the balls to do something like this :)
Wow impressive not sure but iam sure I seen a bald tire on that trailer lol sure does good down the road nice
Airplane tire. There's still 3/4 inch of rubber there.
I have done this with 3300 a few times. Just be sure to take the axles out.
Did you drag that thing through Wilmington to get up to Mayer equipment
Yep
what's his channel
I dont qiute know what to say! Except if you were in mn you would have been stopped right away, one thing is the breaks would not stop you in time with that much weight and the list goes on. Just think if you had to stop fast that whole thing would keep coming, and someone could get killed
He is a good friend of mine. His name is Joe, his story is true. Your in my neck of the woods. He bought a 9510 Deere
Did you disconnect the drive system on the combine?
Yes
@@boehmfarm4276. Thank you for the reply Jacob. Does this TR have the 3208 cat motor?
No, it's a Ford Genesis tractor engine.
I couldnt have done that.
I lack the sphincter muscle strength.....
God lord takes car of drunks and fools😂ive done scetchy things myself
To bad that truck doesn't have a jake on it
Left tire looa little sketchy. I can see a slick tire with a spot with wires showing
They are airplane tires, they have lots and lots of plys.
How long of a trip was it?
100 something miles
Just act like you are supposed to be doing what and nobody will question you.
Does Brennan have a channel as well?
That truck have the 7.3? Or is it a dt366/466
466
Just out of curiosity what was your average speed with this endeavor
We were up to thirty on good roads.
@@boehmfarm4276 thanks I've got about 15 junk combines to move and have been trying to figure out the easiest way other then a lowboy
Maybe the engine is only Hydro locked wehn it really loecked up ideling
No it's hard to throw a rod 😞
how many miles did you tow it /
Over 100
Lean beef lol
You needed to have weight on the back of your truck!
When u farm log and or u will do some crazy / dumb 💩 just to get by . Been n many jams myself over da 5+ decades .
Ya'll should have put some weight on the tow truck 😮
If it works is it really a dumb idea!?
You may have got by with it but terrible idea! Did you consider your stopping power? 8000lb truck with no weight transfer compared to a 30,000lb combine
This is why we have DOT inspections because of this. Hire the proper truck!
Truck weighs 13k. And I'm not doing highway speeds.
No wonder us real drivers hate Ohio just sayin !!! Thank the good lord you are the only child !!!
What?
@@bradjenkins932 how the f do you cross state line with that set up just sayin
@@thomaskampmeier8378 You just drive.
Driving that after the sun goes down is just stupid!
👍👌❤️🇨🇦
Nice project but one of the sketchiest things I’ve ever seen!
Wow!
I pulled a old 1440 to Phipps scrape yard like that about 10 years ago! Who needs a double drop! Lol
