"On Love" | IB Theatre HL 2019 | Solo Presentation

Aspect​: Use of Multimedia to transform the time and place
For my IB Theatre HL course, I was required to do a solo presentation. I wanted to allow artistic aesthetics and personality to truly come alive in performance. In order to embody the emotional intensity, love, and selflessness, that I felt so strongly during a period of my life. I created this piece so that when I look back it will remind me of how much love I can give to someone else and how much happiness I felt doing that.
The ​theme was to showcase the evolution of love I experienced for one person throughout my life. Focusing on how love for one person can change over time. Showing the audience an unconventional perspective on love, where I learned to love selflessly.
The ​intention​ of my solo piece is to create a performance that will take the audience back to my memories and tells stories of my experiences and perspective on love. In order for them to relate by recalling their own memories and moments of love throughout their life. Another intention that I hope to achieve similar to Lepage’s intention for his solo performance 887, he wanted the performance to show him as an artist as it was based on his childhood story. Similarly, I want my performance to act as a mirror of myself so that the audience can understand and know me better as an individual.
