Hey James enjoyed the 4whl drive build. I have a question for you. Whats a good hy trans fluid for my rebuild, I'm finishing up my 129 and can't get a straight answer from anyone around here. I just can't afford some of these high end brands, so I'm looking for a reasonably priced fluid so I can test my rebuilt pump. I'm itching to see this thing run as I've spent all winter restoring my pride and joy.

I've been using hydraulic fluid for years and never had no problem regular hydraulic fluid is fine

Hey thanks James, I've heard so many conflicting replies here locally and was going nuts trying to pick one. Your opinion is law as far as I'm concerned.

Cub Cadets is a good tractor to have and I own a brand new Cub Cadet xt1 endurance series and it has a Kohler 7000 series V-Twin 22 hp and it has a 46" deck and it has about 4.0 hours or so on it

xt1 is not a real cub, the cubs in the video are international harvester built machines

You were asking for ideas for getting 2 hydrostatic axles to work together on your 4wd. I connected 2 tractors together to test a system i was planning to use on a 4wd, that I'm building. Check out youtube videos Colin's Custom Articulating Project and 2012 Arkansaw Plow Days Video 1. There are also videos 2 and 3. It works on a master/slave relationship, in other words you control the master axle as normal and the slave axle is controlled by pressure signals from the master. If you are interested, reply and I'll describe how it was done.

I've really enjoyed your build videos James. This is a bit hard to describe, but really works well. On the Sunstrand 15 U hydrostatic pump and motor units, there are two plugs near the suction hose connection. These plugs cap off the forward and reverse lines between the pump and motor. By connecting hoses to these plugs, pressures required to operate either forward or reverse can be captured and used to control the slave or second transaxle. Place two indentical double acting hydraulic cylinders nose to nose (connected rod to rod and the cylinder bodies are fixed). With the cylinder bodies fixed to the frame and a connection point between the rods, a link between the rod connection and the control arm on the slave transaxle can attached. When the cylinder strokes, the slave or second transaxle can be stroked from full forward thru full reverse. Connect a hose from the forward line on the master pump (left side on a John Deere) to the piston end of the cylinder which will stroke the second axle in the forward direction. Then connect a hose from the second transaxle forward plug to the piston end of the other cylinder. Finally, how it works. When the master axle is given a signal to go forward, the pressure in the forward port of the master attempts to stroke the slave axle to full forward, but as the pressure in the forward port on the slave axle increases and reaches equilibrium, the two axles travel at the same speed. Since pressure is torque, the axles are operating in sync. Two additional hoses are required for the reverse motion. If you are interested so far, let me know and we can work thru this.

I am trying to pick up what you're putting down I kind of think I understand but I'm not totally sure you might have to draw me a diagram so I can't connect the dots because I don't fully understand both of my transmission hydrostatic or headed the same way or maybe I misunderstood you I think a diagram would be better and thank you very much
