    I heard this accidently while on a hike but wasn't able to favorite or suscribe. Then I tried to find it on RUclips and was having big time problems ... until I went to Google and search on "best RUclips channels for NFL analysis". So I got it.

      I felt the same. Brett says how Zimmerman have McVay his *welcome to the NFL* moment, yet then by the end is saying that the Rams missed obvious concepts that have been forever called. Strange.

    You failed to point out likely counter adjustments by Zimmer, in the event that baby genius McVay ever grows up out of diapers.

  • @gaige2910
    @gaige2910 6 лет назад +176

    You`re acting like the Vikings are incapable of making adjustments as well. If the rams were to start running more traps,the Vikings would’ve adjusted. Zimmer is a defensive mastermind.

    • @biggy0917
      @biggy0917 6 лет назад +10

      I agree Zimmer just has too much football iq to let that happen over and over again

    • @tcorisbanks9777
      @tcorisbanks9777 6 лет назад +21

      And they adjust to the trap runs then our bread and butter boots start working 🤷🏾‍♂️

    • @chuckyoder5765
      @chuckyoder5765 6 лет назад +20

      The NBA2k God123 , funny isnt it .
      In other words Zimmer played McVay straight up with a his typical defense and won .
      LA gained no more info then what they already know .
      So if they approach another game with Minny and are thinking we will just run more trap runs , then because Zimmer will adjust we can go back to our waggles , they are going to be in for a rude awakening .
      The beauty of the Vikings defense isn't in the schemes Zimmer runs , it's in the schemes he can run because of his personell .
      As you have stated in your other vids Zimmer's players give him infinite possibilities in schemes on defense .
      I agree that a rematch between the Rams and Vikings will not be as lopsided score wise as the first game , but if you think McVay will now school the old master , uh , no , not gonna happen . Plus it'll still have to be in the Purple Palace and it'll be hell for the Rams to hear .

      I'm not sure if I blame the Rams offensive line for not being an effective man blocking unit or the coaches for not straying away from their zone blocking scheme, but I think I simple philosophy change in the offensive line could've saved the game and allowed the play action to flourish

    I love how it is all, "if the rams simply did this..." Not a single thing saying the Vikings earned the win.
    Let's not mention that it was the first time that Gurly didn't make a single defender miss (ie. tackling for the Vikings was on point) or that the Vikings DL constantly beat the Ram's OL and got 13 QB pressures (2nd most pressures that the Ram's had seen to that point this season).
    I guess if the Vikings were a better team, the Ram's would not have scored a single point, but they are only a decent unit and the Vikings were just lucky that the Ram's had a rookie HC.

    • @AXXSOS
      @AXXSOS 6 лет назад

      Savage Got Game they shut the falcons out completely for the the first three quarters. And what I mean is that the offense doesn't need to put up 34 points a game to win anymore because the defense is currently allowing less than 14 points a game. It doesn't matter how many yards you allow. Because red zone defence is the most important defence.
      Also they're allowing a lot less yardage right now, their overall stats just look bad because of shitty defense in the early season.
      Sorry didn't mean to write a novell.

      This is exactly why Zimmer is against having video access on the sidelines and only having stills or seeing it from a booth; any one can catch onto what a team is doing if they can replay it over and over again. Adjust by feeling and seeing it, not by video.

    Like the breakdown! Although you correct about your second trap example (Gurley TD), I do think the first 2 examples were just split zone looks. That is inside zone with a crossing blocker (TE in those examples) to take care of the unblocked DE. This is what McVay and Shanahan run a lot of their boots off of. As soon as the DE squeezes that block too hard the boot will be called and the TE will release into the flats. Great stuff!

      Brett Kollmann the double A gap set has 25 basic setups before they even get to tricky. I don't think you really know your xs and os that well.
      Harrison Smith is also statistically the best safety in history this year and he has the ability to move around based on his own personal pre snap reads which is a huge part of the defense.

  • @reiniroosh
    @reiniroosh 6 лет назад

    When the Rams played the niners, I noticed they would sometimes quick-set-and-snap. The defense and camera would not be ready for it. It was a bit tough to see what they were doing, but it was really interesting and effective.
    And in Goffs mic’ed up segment his cadence would start with “turtle” or “turbo.”
    When the Rams, or basically only the Patriots, bust out their hurry up, seems like especially the first couple games of the season, it’s so effective and easy. “Why doesn’t every team do this?”
    But when other teams try it, inevitably they are sloppy in or inaccurate. Drop, false start, something kills the drive.
    Conversely, teams that can do it well, the defense is afraid to set up late, so then the offense can wait and adjust the play after the D has shown their hand.
    Slightly related, but in Seattle’s 2 min offense they are just able to get lined up and set for the next play sooo much faster than bad offenses. Why?!!?
    Can you do a video about Patriots or Rams tempo, especially turbo?

    Great video but I think had the rams gone to well too many times the plays would have come back closer to the mean the crowd noise x the pre snap coverage switches kind negated McVays system I think.

    No worries on Sept 27th Coach McVay will apply what he learned last November and my Rams will take it out on Cousins and the Vikings this time in our place.

    Brett Kollmann, This may seem weird but could you do a video on Christian Ponder, I want to know why he was bad and what he did that was so bad. I see college tape and I think he is just fine and would be a quality starter if he had more time to develop. I would like you to do a breakdown of him and see why the NFL didn't work out for him.

    I️ hope Dennis Allen does the thing Zimmer did except make it where when it’s towards Alex Okafor he takes the flat but when it’s towards Cam Jordan, there’s a LB taking the flats and the other guys replace each other’s zones until Okafor has the last guy’s zone covered.

    So what you're really saying is the McVay beat himself....not that he was schooled by Zimmer. McVay does still have a lot to learn about being a HC and calling plays in a game. The Rams at 9-3 after 12 games in their first year of a new regime is ridiculously promising! Looking forward to at least a few years of relevancy!!

    on that play around 4:20, Goff was just staring down 81. He should have been looking through 89 so he could see the cross between Kupp and 89, while still having peripheral vision on the flat and to see if Watkins was burning his defender. Goff is bad, but this was a great play that should have been a 1st down to Kupp on his slant. Goff even plants at the perfect time to throw to Kupp, but he is too busy staring down 81 to see the whole field. So, he just scrambles and throws an incompletion and still takes a hit.
