People are still catching Pompanos in the Bay pier Emma. You have to jig close to the spot where the Egmont Key boat dock is. Not sure if you know Alden. He sent me his video of the guy catching a 14 inches Pompano.
You should worry about how you mishandle regulated fish. Letting an undersized pompano flop around on the cement for a long time. If its not a keeper, return it as quickly and unharmed as possible.
You are right, i should mind my own business. But! I would never report someone doing illegal fishing in the pier. Let the authority do their job. I was just curious to know catching dozens of stingrays is legal. Unfair for us. We only allowed to catch 6 pompanos a day and or15 spanish mackerels a day.
The guy in a white shirt actually is one of the pier employee. I don’t think he has a commercial license. I heard the conversation between him and one of the bird rescue team lady. The lady said you need to be on a boat to catch those stingrays or there is a required distance if you are catching them from the pier. I didn’t have a chance to make a research on this yet. Thank you so much for your comments. It’s a learning process for me.
Wow that’s awesome
