  • In this I first talk about what the goals of this creation are. Basically a Janus like ship meaning it would first be spawned like a player starter base with production and farming functions. Over time you add CV parts to it like thrusters, pilot seat, more generators, shield, warp etc. Then you can use it as a base style CV. This build also has 1 Helios module bay. From this point, more places for upgraded thrusters, turbines, shield parts etc. with the end goal of using this over the course of entire play thru as a base style CV carrier that also has a module bay and able to move other CV's, HV's, and SV's.

I really like it so far. One thing I really liked there was the turret position under the bridge. I would probably put a drill turret there for relatively fast and cheap mining in the early to mid game.

Oh man!! The Janus 2.0. Love it. I have to nerf my play throughs now by NOT playing with the Janus at start because it’s just too good. Can’t wait to play with this one.

I think attaching the modules to the sides would look good, maybe under some stylized industrial looking structural supports. That way you can have the through hanger and wouldn't have to sacrifice any interior space.

The thruster housings ×4 are definitely even, it looked odd because the side with the cockpit was filled in.
Except the 1 that was 1 block forward, oops.
The bridge looks great, I think the angling works well.

Just learned a few new tricks. thank you! How is it that sometimes you can drop the carbon blocks and they are already textured/colored? I missed that.

I think this is looking a bit too big to be a first CV type build, if you can pull it off it would be super cool though. First thoughts before I get into the video, the blockout bridge area in the front looks like it could offer amazing visibility, depending on final shape, I like that thought. Could you shorten the build and save a lot of weight/space by not really having a full Helios bay? Where it only passes inside the ship a couple blocks to half of the module somewhere, and part of the module would be left out in space?
Grow plots on the bottom layer to reduce the light bleed through? The floor above could have some glass that would allow the light to pass into the upper layer for some extra detail.
I would consider shrinking the hangar down to a more utilitarian quick access hangar, and maybe having a somewhat ramp somewhere you could bring a large HV onto the roof if it did not fit through the hangar door. Or, do a loading ramp in the floor so you can just not have one of those damn ugly hangar doors. Granted this would make a tighter fit, but you can raise or lower the hangar floor without doing the rest of the ship. I forget what materials those big ramps use though.
I wish you could use the heavy glass. It is so nice to look through. Maybe a future build that is more mid tier. One day you will build a CV that has more utility than Movado's Zeus, lol. Maybe the quick-access door to the bridge could be on the side of the bridge rather than the roof? You are likely to have other top access points for the flight deck. (You say it right after I typed it, just to get more greebling on the roof)
I like what you are doing with the chin under the bridge. The space between the hangar and the bridge could hold a small drop floor hangar for micro HV/SV, but I wouldn't want to interfere with hangar access either.
A few low mounted sentry gun positions for critter/troop defense would be nice for early game. For some reason the hangar door looks like it needs to move 1 block farther away from the bridge. I'm not sure if it is just the alignment of the center spars and the missing angled part att he top opposite the bridge.
It's always fun to watch your brain put these shapes together so quickly.
    Thanks Jeff!

In my test game on RE2, I got a preemptive strike when I spaned my first CV. So, I dont know if a CV base is a good idea... 🤔

What if the thruster housings were like the feet on the Carapace and this is in the Carapace family?

Hey J, can you make an oversized CV Vanilla circular 'Hyperdrive Ring' for carrying larger scale SV long Warp distances?
