    Having been crew on a Sanlorenzo, I only did it once. Never took a contract to work on another one again. They aren't, or used to, not very 'nice' to crew. We had limited space everywhere including cabins and this was on a 125'. Wasn't like it was a smaller yacht. It was a proper superyacht, yet I had a bed that tapered down at the end you couldn't lay on your back unless your crossed yourr ankles. 6 crew and we had a table that seated 2.

      Sanlorenzo are specified on order. So I guess that depended on what the first owner specified in some of the five plus variations of crew layout in the 125, which I imagine was an SD, which are even build more custom build then SL or SX.

      It's hard to sell a yacht that can not keep a we rested crew on board! 1st owner may find it hard to sell?

    What a fabulous boat - three separate lounges all accessible in any weather. I also love the direct access to that amazing beach club from the lower deck cabins. Really stunning boat.

    Within the first 5 minutes I was in love. Absolutely gorgeous and even practical yacht. Not overly lavish but as a person commented...minimalistic. Now where's my lottery ticket?

    I love the minimalist integrated sleek direction yacht design is going in. The Wally 118 is still the pinnacle after all these years.

      The just released the 150 if you saw that. I liked that better than the 200

      The industry does not appear to be going minimalist to me. Perhaps only in Italian interior design. Especially the Wally 150 or 209. Neither of them is minimalist at all.

    For the flickering lights, this is caused by the odd way LED lights work. You just need to reduce your shutter speed to less than 30 frames per second (nothing to do with the frame rate). I think you can also do it with a gopro but you'd have to look it up, depending on which one you have.
    Stunning boat btw

    That seating bench in the first bedroom - people sitting down there will crack their heads bad on the protruding shelf.

    It’s a sleek design but I’m not sold on its explorer practicality, or the zinc / steel slab sided staircase. On a yacht that size engine room check need to be easy to do, and that’s seems to be a big issue, very little clearance above and around the engines, which will probably mean the space heats up very quickly, I wouldn’t feel too comfortable going too far afield on this boat, it’s pretty but not rugged, and the engineering spaces seem to me to be ill thought out. Cruising around the med with a cocktail is probably where I’d pitch this yacht. For an explorer type yacht, I’d go to Bering and go for a steel hull, they also have loads of redundancy built into their engineering, whereas San Lorenzo seem to focus more on aesthetics.

      @rtbinc2273 11 месяцев назад +1

      This is totally a Med Cruiser - and I've heard that Italian yachts are generally not nice to crews. I find it interesting how tightly focused on specific niches that a lot of this industry is and the biggest niche is that of Med and Caribbean cruisers. This boat only makes sense in those limited environments working as a super lux moving micro hotel.
      I'm astonished how Bering has built their brand without launching many yachts. Last I heard they have launched about 7, its more than that now, but not much. It shows the effectiveness of RUclips cheerleaders who gasp WOW! at every doorknob. You'll notice that all the reviews are of the same boat. Nordhavn has launched hundreds of boats. Steel is no great improvement over composites and GRP - which is why composites and GRP are heavily used. You'll notice that most warships built in the size ranges of Bering yachts are Aluminum and composites.

    Lovely yacht - the only thing I'd change are the lower deck window sizes. I'd also probably want a master bed facing towards the bow.

    Can the engines be serviced from the beach deck? Or do the crew has to crawl into that boiling hot cave?

    Great tour thanks! It's always nice to see something different from the normal Med layout. But I did find some areas challenging - especially the helm station that doesn't offer any demarcation from the guest area (and it doesn't strike me as an area a captain would want to spend a lot of time in (say compared to the X95 or similar), but I'm sure you can tweak the layout depending on your chosen usage. Cheers!

    those assets are a very different way of investment very far away from my life style..I definetly dont want to own one..but I will definetly rent a super yatch like this for a day.. I am an interior designer and I am amazed with these people , who build them , pushing the limits of design , luxury , metarials , and small space solutions..I salute those people who make these art pieces possible

    First, great vid, Hugo! Second, I like the layout, but there is very little that is warm and inviting on this yacht! A little too “steampunk”(?) for my taste. All very cool to look at but not live in 🤷‍♂️ Seems weird with only one dining table. If I could take the yacht and have Princess do the interior( or better yet, PEARL!) this could be much more inviting!! Or maybe I just buy a PEARL 95 and save a few million!! 😂

    Hugo, if you could have a superyacht, something ober 100', what would you want? Or do you want a smaller Predator or Manhattan or maybe a Squadron 68?

    They made hidden moorage cleats and hidden hinges on cabinets & people doors... BUT they cheaped out on fender storage lockers & chain locker access with ugly exposed hinges.
    4 engines & less than 4,000 gal of fuel... I don't think it has much range to explore beyond the next fuel stop at 23 knots. But you'll look fabulous getting there.

    Beautiful looking Aft deck , Love all the glass but overall I don't think the layout works ...... As someone who doesn't yacht can someone explain why a 30m Yacht only has space for 5 crew ? Captain , Engineer , Chef and only one deck hand and a stew ??

    Just a quick introduction reveals that the boat is intended for nothing more than lying in the harbor and making day trips to nearby bays. The galley is far too small, as are the crew quarters. All spaces on the boat seem impractical. You have to visit the machine room every day and it is already very difficult, not to mention the maintenance. The whole design chain seems to have failed badly, unfortunately.

  • @rtbinc2273
    @rtbinc2273 11 месяцев назад +1

    Always ambivalent about San Lorenzos. Wonderful light and airy designs. But, a lot of sharp corners, odd space choices, Galley looks small, crew of 5 with a table for 2? The engineering spaces look very cramped. It's a Med cruiser, it would look amazing anchored off a Greek island while charter guests to swimming and snorkeling off the back. I think people want these to be that and a hard core expedition boat too - and that isn't going to happen.

    It has some nice ideas but this show pony is definitely more form over function. You wouldn't want to test that engine space in any serious situation.

  • @joachimemand1687
    @joachimemand1687 11 месяцев назад

    The grown up sister of the BGX line, truly wonderful. I just don't understand why so many yachts with main deck master cabin can't get the bed situated so that you can look out the front. Maybe if you can afford a 15 million yacht, you've already seen enough sun rises from your bed - I always think of it as a missed opportunity. The guest cabins look a bit simple on video, but if you're able to buy such a boat, you'll be able to spend a bit more on interior design.
