Excellent video! Raleigh is looking for solutions to break away from the car dependency for everything. Plus, walking thru a nice neighborhood is so relaxing 😎
From the center of the Village District to the Capitol building downtown, it's actually less than a 2 mile walk. As someone who lives in between the two places, I can vouch for its walkability. In particular if you are in Forest Park, you can walk to the Village District, downtown, NC State, and even Pullen and Dix parks in less than a mile. I'm a condo dweller so the north end of Glenwood South puts me in a perfect position for car-light living. My weekly number of miles driven is usually less than the daily number of miles of the typical Raleigh residents. I'll also say that the density of housing that persists from Glenwood South to the Village District affords the foot traffic required for retail, services and hospitality to thrive. If multifamily ownership or rentals isn't your thing, there are pockets of single family home options within and immediately surrounding these areas, but it gonna cost you $$$$.
Great video! Didn't know a Target may be coming to Wendell Falls??? That would be fantastic. We are thinking about buying a home there in a few months.. this may seal the deal :).
I really wish Iron Works was more walkable from 5 points. The issue is that there is no crosswalk on Atlantic Ave. A tunnel or walking bridge would be amazing!
We would LOVE to help you buy/sell a home 🏠

That's Great!!! Most people we talk to who move to Wendell love it.

Yes!! This is the sad truth outside of downtown Raleigh, not enough done to make places walkable.
I think Grove 98 area in Wake Forest is walkable?
That is true! It can be considered walkable.
Thats why I am moving to RUSSIA. Where I can drive all I want. And the men are not Nazi psychopaths.
