Hello! First of all, the hoop is chosen by diameter, depending on the size of the embroidery. Also if you embroider on the woolen sweater, like in this video, it is better to use a thick hoop, because a thin hoop may not hold well on such type of material, the wool is thick and slides between hoop rings.
