As a Canadian and avid camper I've heard many scary sounds here in our dense and seemingly endless woods at night. The grunting of a bear just outside my tent, the howling of a nearby pack of wolves, wild cats screaming, moose crashing through the woods, but the most ungodly sound of all is when you hear your first sasquatch. Yes, they're real and the sound is indescribable

Sasquatch don't exist, they are not real in the slightest. There's near extinct animals who avoid all human contact at all cost and we can find sightings of them and traces of them, bones etc. Not one Sasquatch dead or alive has ever been found or filmed. And in this day and age with so many cameras if they did exist we would at the very least have photos, videos and bones of dead ones. The one and only half convincing video of a "Sasquatch" is from the 70's where people claim it looks too real to be a human in a suit. I beg to differ, the 70's was a very different time where it was very easy to kill a large ape, preserve its fur and create a very real looking suit a human could wear as it was all real fur and skin, not to mention the camera quality was so grainy back then it would mask any imperfections. Nowadays that wouldn't be allowed and surprise surprise every single apparent Sasquatch video is easily spotted as nonsense, a man in a synthetic suit. Sasquatch is a myth, like the loch Ness monster and the like. Stories which have been passed down generations and are nothing more than tall tales. We literally have traces of animals which have been dead for thousands of years yet not a single Sasquatch.

That sound you heard was a snipe 'drumming'- it's the males mating display/call. Although it's not really a call at all because it's actually made by the vibrations of its tail feathers against the air as it dips and dives. Hear them all the time here in west of Ireland.

@@EyeoftheFox it's all in your imagination, when encountered with unknown shapes and sounds your mind fills in the blanks and most people jump to conclusions. Every time I've seen or heard something and thought what the hell is that, I go investigate night or day, rain or shine and every single time, it's nothing to be afraid of. When people start camping especially alone they mistake animals moving around for human footsteps, animals like foxes for screaming ladies in the woods. Once you know what it is it doesn't bother you in the slightest, my biggest worry when out solo camping in the middle of nowhere is humans. People can do bad things to you, nothing else will. I've had that experience of 'Total Silence' a few years back in the Peak District. We were hiking and found a smallish woodland to put the hammocks up for the night.
I suddenly woke up in my hammock during the night. It was weird as I went from total sleep to 100% awake, alert and feeling very scared in an instant. I was confused what was going on and thought perhaps an animal disturbed me or perhaps my friend who was also hammocking. So I listened out to see if I could hear anything. It was really weird though. There was no sound, nothing. Normally you might hear a gentle breeze, rodents moving about or distant traffic. I laid there terrified and in pitch black darkness. Too afraid to put my head torch on and too afraid to move. It wasn't just quiet though, the air had an atmosphere like something was there, or something was about to happen. It's quite hard to describe unless you've experienced it.
I figured that i'm not getting out of the hammock to investigate, the only choice I have is to go back to sleep and try not to move or make a sound. And this is what I did.
At the time, I had no idea this might be considered 'paranormal'. I'm glad I didn't get out the hammock and go investigate.

Thank you for a great episode! ❤️ I am so happy to have come across you! I’ve only been camping alone once… and it was a very scary experience after I woke up in my tent to it shaking uncontrollably. I felt as if I would have blown away had it not been for my air mattress, somehow. It would shake nonstop with me holding the zipper for 20 minutes or so, and then stop….and then start again I was very scared and felt as if it wasn’t the wind. It wasn’t an animal. I really don’t know what it was to this day. I was saying the Lord’s Prayer over and over again. Finally, around 5 a.m. I got brave and unzipped my tent to run to my car. There was an eerie feeling, an unnatural calm and a warm orange glow…. I slept in my car until morning 😬 This was in Estes Park, Colorado… I’m not sure if I can camp alone again. I enjoyed this video because I felt as if I was with you and your furry friend having a beer and watching the sunset. Thank you again! Much Love. Jonna in Colorado, U.S.

The stillness and silence you felt outside the tent at 2 am was probably what Jenny Randles calls 'The Oz Factor' which is supposedly a shift in reality immediately preceding paranormal activity. The Peak District and the Pennine areas are riddled with UFO and High Strangeness and have been for centuries. Mick Mclaren of WHIT covers weird happenings around Winter Hill and West Pennine areas. Paul Sinclair covers similar freaky stuff on the East Yorkshire coast and inland areas. You should try Todmorden Moor and Saddleworth Moor, both 'Hot Zones' of eerie stuff. Thanks for this.

Very good! However, I will never go camping alone again. We were building our lake house in South Dakota USA and my parents were in a small trailer while my two older brothers camped in a tarp under the picnic table. I liked being in he tall prairie grass. The wind always blew up there, and one night I woke up and moonlight was shining through the thin tent. I heard something walking slowly in the grass nearby and thought it was my brothers. When I looked out, I could see them curled up in their tarp, and the steps got closer to my back. I went totally silent until whatever it was seemed to be right on top of me. I bolted out of the test and ran inside the trailer, which could barely hold three people. I told my mother what had happened and she said she knew she had heard something over the wind. Dad grabbed a shotgun and went outside. He came back and told us to go to sleep. Nothing was there. The next day, my tent had been stuffed under the trailer and the grass was crushed all around the camp site. I'll never sleep alone in a tent again.

Just caught this video! Thank you for making me spit coffee out my nose!😂 Here's one for ya that happened back in the mid 1980's. My friend's grandparents owned a beach house that abutted an old civil war Fort in Alabama. Supposedly this place was haunted with soldiers from that era. 6 of us decided to go camping close to the Fort. We set up 2 tents both 4 man, had a nice little fire pit, and were enjoying ourselves. The game warden checked on us, to make sure we were not on the Forts property, but other than that, didn't bother us. As it got darker, we decided it was time to break out the Laser Tag gear and go to the Fort and have a few rounds. We were there maybe 2 hours, when I went down one of the tunnels into a armory bunker, another player entered from the other side, it's pitch black, but we could see each others little red flashing light on the target piece, and were "shooting" trying to score. Out of the corner of the room came a soft voice, two words: 'Leave, NOW!" We snapped on our lights and were shining all over, in the far corner for a brief second, stood a soldier in Confederate Uniform, and he just faded out. Both of hauled butt out of there and did not stop until we got to the edge of the fence line. I'll be honest, my pants were cold because I wet myself, so did my friend. We noticed more flashing red lights bobbing towards, and they did not stop, but said RUN, which we did back to the tents. Halfway back to the tents, we came to a stop when we spotted three men standing between us and the tents. When we called out, they dropped to the ground behind some Sea Oats. When we got to the spot, there was no one there. Footprints, yes, people, no. We didn't sleep much, but kept the fire blazing. In the morning, we stopped the game warden, and told him of the three men, (but not about going to the Fort). We showed him the spot, and the footprints. As we were talking, (the warden was skeptical, thinking we were drinking), a very cold wind came up, and it was like shifted into three little tempests, above the footprints, and faded out. A year later I was reading the local newspaper, there was an article about a discovery of three Confederate Soldiers, who's remains were discovered buried in unmarked graves, in the same spot we seen the three men standing.

A male staff fearless...he went bat shit mate . His ackles was up his teeth was out he went mad . I couldn't see anything but could feel it . Still to to this day it makes me feel sick to my stomach . Now up until this I've never believed in ghosts but mate that night freaked me out . If my dog could sense it I no I wasn't scaring my self with my own imagination... I had a look into it and the woods we was in were used from the early Roman times . Fuck nos lad freaked me out

I had exactly the same experience with my dog he’s a lab never goes off like that to any animal and again whatever was there wasn’t visible to me but was to him . I was at Bolehill wood in Derbyshire. It really did bother me and I had same experience about 2 weeks later . I think it is like in US Sasquatch and they never get caught because they are supernatural and have got powers we cannot comprehend, I admit they are more prominent in US due to the size of there forests .I have now sort of come to that conclusion my dog stopped and looked up like whatever was there was stood directly in front ohm but… was tall … now it was middle winter and area I was in had no trees for 20 odd yards . They are out there it’s really no joke when you experience this .

I was solo camping in the Brecons, when I heard some footsteps, so unzipped the tent to have a look expecting to see a sheep or something and seen a dark figure moving fast under the moonlight, thought must be a hiker, but went back to sleep and heard it again unzipped the tent and it was a white out, felt the hairs stand up on my neck, knowing I could not see if it was near me, I turned my torch on, started packing up my stuff and when I looked out again, perfectly clear, ended up walking back to the car and went home, really creeped me out. I won’t go into detail but I have a very unique job which involves being out alone at night in some very remote areas. I have a work dog, and over the years there have been a couple of occasions when for no apparent reason my dog has sensed and reacted to something odd in the dark, stopping dead and refusing to proceed, its back arched up, fur raised, growling loudly, and in a ready to fight stance, with its teeth bared. And at a location where we have been countless times without incident. I have illuminated the area with a powerful light I have and have seen nothing but my normally placid companion has. I do not scare easily, I couldn’t do this work if I did, but then one night at this same location, my dog began snarling like I have never seen before, teeth bared and following something in a complete circle around us, that was different, something I could not see but that my dog could see had just circled us. My dog then stopped and gradually raised its head as if whatever it was seeing was now moving away.

I am 8 months pregnant and you almost put me into labour! Lol. I couldn't hear the noises from outside of your tent properly so I put my face and ear right up to the phone just as that image and growl popped up. Thanks! Lol

The sound you heard towards the end of the video is made by a bird called snipe. They make that low pitched sound when diving.

It’s not solo wild camping when the angry haggis is with you! His split second early appearance made me laugh 😂
I’m officially too scared to wild camp after this 😂🙀

The hideous creature of the moors was making some weird sounds that night! The Haggis is crap company and always ends up getting pissed and storming off anyway 😒😁

That noise was a Snipe drumming its wing feathers. That silhouette story was freaky for sure

Where was the angry haggis in your hour of need Chris? Nowhere to be seen! When Dracula himself is out on the moors you're going to need some real backup! On a more serious note, I couldn't agree with you more about the importance of the outdoors in our lives. There is something about being alone with your thoughts in the stillness of a wild place, it really puts everything in perspective, and is wonderful for the soul. Technology is amazing in many ways, but there is the danger of becoming it's slave and in the process disconnected from the very things that make us human. Anyway, enough rambling! Love the videos and keep up the good work mate.

He's useless as a guard Haggis mate, always pissed. Yes - there is a bit of a disconnect with nature in this modern life - for many people at least, I will always maintain the link though. ATB, Chris
