Need to get Tom a Lav mic too, so we can hear what he's saying easier.
As somebody who works in the marine industry, yup most people leave it till the last minute to fix things.
That thing is badass. You guys have all the cool stuff out there
You have a bad ass boat there, and that engine sounds very powerful, i cant wait to see it have a couple of runs in the water and the new paint job, Keep the fans and me posted on the boat build as it progresses. Thanks...
Well I guess you folks keep yourselves out of trouble with all of those projects.. just like me with model kits 😆!!
Well that bow tie came right to life.
That looks like a popular color too I noticed when you look up 1971 sidewinders there's quite a few of that original color you had.
Some guys got a fully restored one with a 455 olds ready to rock.
454 bow ties, takes me back! You could sit your Chevy and rev just a little; it was enough to let everyone know it's a ride you don't mess with. You could watch the gas gauge go down almost in real-time as well, lol! Same with the 455's...grandparents' Delta 88.
This will be an interesting project.. like you need another one 😆!!
Personally I blame squirrels
That’s a badass boat! Old big block sounds mighty healthy!
There any water in California to be able to use the boat
I’d put the LS6 in the Nova until the boat is back, with a blower on E85
The yellow dually can finally tow a boat again
I believe Glastron got the product placement deal for 'Live and Let Die' where Roger Moore pursues criminals on a southern bayou.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe the Glastron version of the Sidewinder was branded "Cobra".
Edit: Spoke too soon, you mentioned Glastron.
Hi great video. I have a 1972 Sidewinder jet boat with a 455 Oldsmobile engine. Hasn't been in the water for years but just had a tree fall on it. I'm hoping I can get it restored. I'm in Indianapolis area and am looking for some advice on how to fix the fiberglass sidewall on it.
Looks like you are expanding your horizons with that boat...
Was für ein super motör, prima !!
This would make a helluva drag boat 😆!!
With a couple of little bright coloured cones in the grille of the 'hood' scoop it might look like a rocket/missile launcher! Completing the James Bond look ;)
B.O.A.T. = Break Out Another Thousand. The quickest way to lose money. Been there, learned my lesson. What we need are more ramp truck videos.
Carbuerated boats make absolutely no sense any longer. The are very temperamental and you can get stuck. Go with TBI Fuel injection for reliability.
@@FilthyGopher mercury and other outboards as well as Volvo Penta solved the problem just fine.
Wanting a jet boat to slalom ski behind when I was in my 20's, I bought a Marlin Sidewinder, 1971 model like yours in 1984 and ran it for a decade. Its engine was a LS6 454/450 hp (CRR code) also, complete with solid lifter cam, forged hi-comp pistons, and lo rise alum intake as built by Chevrolet. Berkeley 12JB pump with Stainless B impeller. This boat had a hellacious hole shot and would blow away most other semi-V jets running Ford 460's, Olds 455's and reg 454 Chevs, whether we ran from dead stop or from a roll but topped out at approx 65 mph with 5200 rpm at WOT. The Sidewinders were beautiful, stylish boats (even with that seating arrangement), and were excellent water ski boats with ample space & minimal boat wake. I would question your stated top speeds, even if equipped with hull speedcoat, pump blueprint, nitrous, hard for me to see that hull (with its quarter length stringers) hitting speeds over 75. Good luck with your project, I deeply regret selling mine! Pontoon boats just don't cut it after you've owned a LS6 powered Sidewinder jet!
Jet. Out bard
That 454 ought to make that boat move out nicely!!
i wrecked my berkley in 84. used the reverse deflector as a step, and one day i was backing the beast down the trailer and couldnt gett her back into neutral or drive to slow it before it banged the dock. punched the water inlet right through the block of the 455 olds. in a 21 ft tri-sonic tri hull. was too much for me to fix so i sold it as is to a tunnel boat race to shuttle his friends to the blarney's island bar and grill in illinois. my fault, water was spraying out of the bell housing. i parked it before a storm mad, forgot to remove the plug. boat filled up to the gunnel, flooded the engine. that was the last straw. I only paid 3100 for it in 82, but drove 1000 miles each way to get it. uughhh i did get 1700 for the boat
New 21 foot Yamaha scaramouche jet biats
I owned and restored a sidewinder, but the Glastron CVX 20 that was in a Bond movie was a better looking boat. And hard to find
Yes it is
Can’t wait to see the finish boat. I used to have one and wish I still had it.
Love the boat ! But do i see a early 60's GTO grazing in the back ground ?
Actually it's a friends LeMans waiting for some TLC . - T

I agree. It does look a lot like the Glastron GT-160 in "Live And Let Die". It is super cool!! Sounds badass!
