just got this device,,it is the best blackberry to date. the battery life is sick, super long, the frets on the keyboard speeds up anybody's typing, the display is great and the phone just feels and looks solid and expensive. i love it
I got myself a blackberry bold 9700, I have never used blackberries before, extremely easy to understand, 3g in my country (Dominican Republic) super fast, my provider let's me use it as moden with my laptop. Super reliable, nothing to complain about!!!
I recently bought the 9700, It is truly a great phone. Browsing is not as bad as some may think, once used to the browser you can get around as quickly as any other. I have tried the iphone, also good but I prefer the BB overall.

I have one. I bought it unlocked and use a company called simple mobile. Unlimited talk n text for $40, cheapest here in LA, but has good service. The 9700 is a little outdated yes, but this phone performs and is very good looking. I love having a little keyboard.
can you still use this blackberry if you dont have the at&t or tmobile service on it???i mean i know you cant make calls but would it still work or turn on without either service???
@geokavalakatt well I am in Delhi.I did go to chroma but they did not have a live Storm with them but only bold and I wanted to have both in hands and compare.. Was in Gurgaon and managed to go into a shop dealing exclusively with BB.. And Storm felt much better in hand than Bold to me.. so went for it.. And love it.. its very nice... Thanks a lot.
i got this like 2 weeks ago? its good! but my charger snaped after a week! like the mettle part that actually goes in the phone which sucks and i havent had time to go get a new one yet so i have just been changing it on my laptop.. the only other bad thing about it is when you take the battery out it takes like 15 minutes to come back on.. and i droped it off my bed and the metle on the top has dented and pressed into the lock button and has made it stiff.. other than that the phone is AMAZING!

I reckon it's stupid but I've got to ask: how is the (pic) gallery handled??Because all my previous fones (even the gooood ones) became too slow while I was going through the stuff. I tend to download a great amount of pics & music and even though that's not why I want to buy this fone for, I just know I'm going to end up w/ full stuffed memory anyway. So that would be my Q. @icarefor2010 The 9700 does come with facebook. I use the app every day & I think it works great, & the app is free in case you were wondering. The trackpad is amazing, never messes up & responds to every touch. It's a major improvement from the trackball.
wen u pay for an app in the app world is it just like itunes? or does it go on ur monthly bill bc im switching frm iphone 4 ive had soo many probs with it so if any 1 could answer my question tht would b great :)
9700 wasnt there a huge prob with the 8900 trackball and for and extra 3 mm you get a bold 2 how amazing is that and you get a heavenly keyboard go for the bold 2
9360 is waaaay newer and more updated. However I love my 9780 Bold. Super loud speaker, long battery life, reliabilty,...just perfect. I heard the 9360 has many issues and bugs though still very good.
Anyone considering this phone - stop considering and get it. Brilliant piece of kit - does everything you want and more. Stock theme is a bit bland - the Reflect7 Carbon 9700 theme enhances the phone 100% - recommended! after a phone with a physical keyboard - this is it! 10/10
@SvabaGeneral Click the blackberry icon (the icon left of the trackpad) and then it will bring you too your blackberry menu where you should see all of your icons. The icon for the web browser is already installed and it will appear as a gray globe with a orange arrow going around it.
@dragonman785 the keyboard once you get used to it which takes about a day it is really nice for texting and it runs a better os and has a bettter camera and it has more ram and a better processor
best phone!!!! i think battery life is great can go with 2 days with 1 charge and thats with normal usage like calls, emails, browser, music ect. i would really recomend people getting this phone

I've had my bold for 4 months and the only time it ever froze was when I downloaded some free tethering app, once I uninstalled it it worked fine ever since... Thing never freezes, battery lasts 3 days (and I use it as my mp3 player) and it uses my wifi as a signal so I always have full bars. I love my blackberry to death.
@babyboic1 Don't you regret buying the 9700 so fast when the 9780 is coming out soon? A friend is selling a 9700 aswell for a good price and I want to buy it but can't help but thinking that the 9780 is a lot better...Although the price can't be beat that he's asking for the 9700.
hey iv just got this phone, how do i use the unlock/lock key on the top plz? and how can i delete the pre loaded songs, pictures and videos cos when i click the blackberry button to go into the menu a delete option isn't available.
@crook925 if you want to buy a blackberry with keyboard than the best choices are bold 9000 and 9700 9700 is smaller, it has a bigger screen, better battery and camera, trackpad that is kinda safer then a trackball altough some people don't like it... It is clear that 9700 is more powerful, but some people prefer 9000 because it has a bigger keyboard...I think it would be the best for you to try both phones and then decide which one to take, it's not such a big difference between them
@tetra3000 me too.. went to the store and checked out ... problem is i am in India.. and here they somehow done keep live phones for demo... and its quite annoying i want to compare both hand to hand..
@TheLouis3877 9000 for larger screen and trackball.... 9700 for slightly smaller screen than the 9000 and with new age trackpad. These are the visible changes between both.

i have the 9000 and got the 9700 as soon as it came out. it is the bes!..right size, sophisticated, light and user friendly!

@icarefor2010 yes, it is remarkably simple. it doesn't use itunes, but still syncs your itunes music and playlists using bb desktop manager for mac

I dont hate the fact that the Bold doesnt have a touch scree. in fact BB are the best phones without touch screens. But I see your point
