Susannah (Patricia Kalember) confesses that she is introverted. From thirtysomething Season 3, Episode 20 "I'm Nobody, Who are you?" (Original air date: April 10, 1990)
I miss it. I miss that period of my life. I was 26 and pregnant with my first daughter during the first season. It blows my mind that nearly 30 YEARS has passed! I would give anything to go back in time.
They should make a new version called sixtysomething because there isn't enough shows about growing old, especially now that people are living longer. Yes they can still include sex because older people still do it
it's dated now by the fact that few people can relate to these "yuppies". It presented an almost perfect picture of the American family. Conflicts were resolved in an almost too cosy fashion. Elliot cheats on his wife and we could have an interesting take on what it's like to be a divorced couple with children but they reconcile. Maybe people didn't want to see Kramer vs Kramer again. The show said very little about race, sexuality or poverty. Yes they discussed issues like abortion but only as passing comments between characters. The takeaway from this show was the white nuclear American family is still pretty wholesome. Why did the ratings plummet in the early 90s. Could it be that Americans struggling to get through a recession failed to relate to the characters? Or maybe it was just too 80s for the 90s.
My friends and I were all about 30 years old when this show came out. We hated it more than life itself. I wanted to take a peek to see if I could remember why I hated it so much and this one short scene pretty much sums it up. The ridiculous dialogue, these people just whined about absolutely nothing, overexplaining ,so unrateful for everything that they had. They made their stupid little problems seem like starvation, disease, and pestilence all rolled into one. Every little normal thing that went wrong, as it does when one is a human being with a job, family, and a place to live that's not your mother's, sent them into a frenzy of crying, fighting, whining and feeling sorry for themselves. I think it pretty much explains why everybody hates Boomers. They actually thought we were all like this.
You hated it more than life itself? Lol A little too serious there lol.. Most viewers didn’t take it so serious because it was just a show, good thing it was just a fake life and actors acting, blame the writers, sounds like you’re whining too much about this show Lol.. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

@@robg9048 I said the same thing on another video...we need a sixtysomething show.
1:44 😢
It was one of my favorite shows. I always wished I could have their lives so I would live through them which was not healthy but still loved the show.
You cut off the best part. And then Hope RUNS SUZANNA A BATH!
I was thinking the EXACT same thing! Fantastic scene and extremely well written!
Ick taking a bath in someone else’s house.
This show was pretty much about adulting in the '80s before "adulting" was a word.
I Loved this show when it was first on tv i was in my late teens. Fast forward, im now 54 and watching these clips.... i feel the same as you. Lol!
These characters are still interesting and I would love to see who they are today!!!
Should have kept the film running. Next, Hope offers her a bath and things really turn around. Great scene.
I’m introvert, it’s a new trending thing now and there’s nothing wrong with that..
Being Introverted doesn’t mean you’re shy.
Hope is such a beeeeeeeep!
I'm going to order the box set. This show need a reboot with all new characters.
I want the whole episode
I don't understand how either of them could be so unfriendly
That word ' introvert ' ... Thirty Something ™ intro ...
Believe me, it's possible.
Hope kept a seriously messy house ...we had 3 under ten and ours was kitchen clean .....
Hope has 7,000 friends on Facebook?
Couldn’t agree more! Soooo whiny
I am.
Two dishwashers?
Bloody hell how is it possible to squeeze over 80 episodes out of yuppie suburban malaise?
The show was about more than that....

@@zebop No, it actually wasn't. Angst, angst and more angst.
They're not yuppies it's funny to me that people always call them yuppies. And what the hell is wrong with yuppies? Jealous people.
@@robg9048 when did the ratings plummet? The show performed the same throughout its run

Everybody hates boomers because we’re all old now. People despise aging
Is that all , we all hate the end of the world ?

It was annoying.
Dear God I loved this show. Sorry you hated it.

These are grown women having a conversation. Do you just grunt at people as a means of communication?
