Got a 2021 a couple months ago w/ 450 miles for $4500, dealer wanted $8k otd. Love the bike it's awesome. Not a scratch on it.
Great video, looking forward to seeing more, watched to the end and if the sound was with new exhaust, it sounded great!
Just purchased an extremely nice 2006 XT250 with 3,500 miles, LED Headlight, Seat Concepts, Hand guards, Foot pegs, Upgraded tires. Looking forward to Spring!
Good work Andrew , luv my XT and DR
Stayed til the end. Good info and tips. Thanks!
Thank you for watching that long.
My friend has two xt 250s or had. A 2019 and an old 2008. I finally talked him into selling me the 2008 after it had set up for a couple of years. I just bought it yesterday and started to work on it finishing up at 9:30 tonight. The carb is a nightmare, took two evenings to get it done but it only had 3750 miles on the clock. It runs like a top and I have had it to 80 mph. That’s the limit on this one but I’ve heard others say you’re lucky to get 70 down hill. Anyway this one is definitely a keeper and I paid $1400 for it. I don’t know how much it would have cost me to have the carb, fixed but I ain’t paying for anything I can do myself. I wouldn’t do it again for money but it was well worth the time and cash I put in it. I put 100 miles on it tonight just cruising and remembering why I love these little bikes so much. Smoothest dual purpose small bike I’ve ever ridden and does everything I need it to. Easily cruises at 60mph and looks like about 75mpg. Great bikes!
Awesome content thanks. I just got a new XT250 and I love it. Looking forward to more videos.
There is more to come. We were working on the bike all day today putting on some great mods.
Thanks for the valve stem tip. After buying my bike. I noticed the front nut had a space off of the rim. I ran it down lightly. Not knowing it was that way for a reason.
No problem, and that's fine right? You didn't know and now someone made you aware, this is how we all find out new things. but what I have a problem with is the service center charging so much money and still not getting it right. There is one thing to be said about having a high price for quality work but this is ridiculous.
Looking forward to more XT250 and Dr650 content!
Thank you, more definitely on the way.
Nice video, love my XT250 too! Did you do the ejk - would love to see an install video.
Great video, though i would love to see a comparison between the XT250 and the TW200 and the XR150 and the new CRF300LS.
I am planning on buying one of those, and i cant make a decision. If you could somehow do a back to back comparison that would be great.
I just bought a 2020 XT250 with low miles (tan) and its a tremendous bike. Looking foward to more XT content. The "Serrow" is actually the discontinued XT225, rather than the 250.
Ahh ok thanks for pointing out the serrow thing. And more to come!
Oh no! The Serow 250 was the last and discontinued in 2020 in Japan.
The Philippines still have the Serow 250.
love the fact that you ride as a family , hope to do the same with my Daughter one day
Thank you! It is a great thing. My son (13yr) is coming along as well.
Thanks for the valve stem tip. Bought a 2023 xt and both were all the way down to the rim. Im done a lot of upgrades on the bike . Did all the work myself & enjoy doing. I Learn a lot from you tube channel. I'm thinking about adding a honda 300ls to my stable. Not sure, but I think the the xt250 is better Quality built than honda 300ls. Any thoughts? I love see your daughter doing the work on the xt250 so I can learn to work on my bike ,always trying to learn. Thank you for the xt content.
I bought a 2014 3 years ago that had 5000 around town miles for $2700.
It is now over 10k (mostly dirt) and it has been 100% trouble free.
Get the seat concepts seat. Best mod ever.
P.S. I got a nice set of cheap shorty levers on line in my choice of anodized color. they are cnc aluminum, fit inside my bark busters AND are on the fly adjustable as far as how far you want time from the bar. Perfect inside bark busters so your brake light does not hang up.
Solid bikes. People overlook the insanely low seat height. Big advantage this bike has as a dual sport.
They are super fun and approachable for that very reason.
Also, the frame was formerly a "trials bike" design which gave it a low seat height while keeping its' excellent ground clearance. It's a win win situation that may be a one of a kind bike design. His daughter is very fortunate he picked it for her and the new parts coming are just what the doctor ordered. I like the blue most of all the newer colors.
I LOVED my xt225. ❤
Me too, I had a super clean 1996. I guy drove 8 hrs to buy it off me. So I knew this would be a good product line to get back into.
I had one I bought for $1,100 in 2020 sold it the next spring for $1,500 and bought my XR650L with that same $1,500 I had it in my hand for less than a minute. I had fun on it but don’t regret selling and for the XR I just didn’t have room for in the shed for an extra bike. I plan on keeping the XR forever.
Just picked up a 2022 w/ 7,500 for $3,500. Putting new tires on it and changing the oil. Ready to put many miles on it.
Nice bike ✅️
Thank you, and thanks for the comment.
Andrew all upgrades needed when you purchase a brand new motorcycle of any kind
I just picked up a 2015 in May for $3800 🇨🇦. $2861🇺🇸. 3500 miles on it. Bought cheap levers and hand guards off of Amazon for about $60. Front fender was scratched bad and priced one at the dealer. $42! Ordered it! Shocked at how cheap it was. Scuff marks on the back of the turn signals and that was it for damage. New Royal purple oil, oil filter and air filter. Lubed the chain and good to go. Loving the low seat height with my 30 inch inseam. I’ve been riding over 50 years and I’m 67 this year. A very nice little bike to go with my other 4 motorcycles. My wife is full care with M.S. (me) and I’ve only managed to put 400 miles on it but it’s quickly becoming a favourite. Enjoy the time with your daughter. Goes quick. Yea I watched to the end.
Hey man sounds like a great deal. It's awesome you are there for your wife in that way. You have my respect. A little while back I made a video for my older riders, if you haven't seen it check it out I think you will find it interesting.

@@MotorcyclesOffroad I’ll watch for sure. I just found your channel about a week ago.
I want to get into Dual Sport biking. My father had a street and trail bike in the 90's that he loved, but sold it for a Harley because his back could no longer do offroad. Got my bike license last season, have been driving a Ruckus for the last 10 years (daily driver for two NH winters.) To my untrained eye, the tire that was on the bike and the one you bought are very similar. The Kenda you bought looks a bit knobbier then what it had. Is the difference just that the one that was on it is better for street use while the Kenda is better for trail?
I want a good road tire for my XT250. I do mostly traveling on the mountain roads of Arkansas with lost of curves so I need something so I can keep traction at steep lean angles. I don’t do any mud or anything but some trails with some rocks and gravel. Got any suggestions?
What ejk did you use? I have looked and it never lists that year model. To my knowledge these bikes never changed since they added fuel injection but I didn’t want to accidentally get the wrong one. Do you think you could link me to the one you got for yours? I also have a 2017 model.
man its rough....but I like the dark blue
I own one . Super reliable. Will get u there
and back . Mostly off-road .
Get on gas . I use it for hunting deer . On
Trails that jeeps can’t go.
Put folding mirrors and larger foot pegs .
Does 65 70 top speed
Cheapest I've seen of the fuel injection are $3250. The carburetor ones $2-3k. The old xt225 are $2k.
Love your videos, been watching them since I was looking for my first dual sport. They helped me decide to buy a crf300l and I love it. Ty for all the content you provided to help me to make a informed and wise decision! My wife just bought a new xt250 for herself so we can ride together. We are both in our mid fifties and were looking for something to do together that would get us out of the house and into nature and be fun so we decided to give trail riding a try. In the past we both have had street bikes and decided to get back into riding again. What tires do you recommend to replace the death wings on the xt250? She will be riding mostly the trails in the Famous Reading Outdoor park since we live right by it but also some street riding. Thanks again for the great content and keep it coming!
Wow ok so famous reading has some really tough trails and mostly slippery rocks. Will you also be riding a lot of road with these bikes as well?
@@MotorcyclesOffroad we will be riding some road, mostly from our house to the different trail entrances. So maybe like 15 to 30 miles round trip. We are going to look for some of the more tame trails to ride on there. Ones that are more wide open and hopefully not so rocky ! Definitely won’t be doing any single track there they are to wicked for us at our age and skill level. I know you did a video from when you went riding there, did you happen to see any trails like that or were they all tough and rocky ? We haven’t explored there yet so if it’s a no go I guess we will have to look for somewhere else to trail ride or stick to riding back country roads here. Thanks for any info and help you can give us.
@geraldmccabe9023 yeah the different parks have different things. I feel like the woods areas in Ashland were nice and casual. So for tires I would say try MICHELIN STARCROSS 5 MEDIUM TERRAIN TIRE.
@@MotorcyclesOffroad ok I will check them out. Thanks for alll the help
Be careful your daughter will soon be after riding your 300 rally lol
Haha yeah, she can already. She even took my Tenere for a ride once. Those bikes are just to tall for her skill level currently. I mean my rally is really tall with the cogent suspension I have on it.
@@MotorcyclesOffroad just saying..I did the thing when I was young..my dad bought me a bran new xt200 in 1983 and bought himself a xt350 a couple years later and he made the mistake of letting me ride the 350 lol I fell in love extra power and better suspension
Man that bike was road hard and put away wet. Mine is 5 years older but in mint condition. Great bikes. $700 for tires and is robbery and that hack install of the turn signals is robbery.
Yeah I can't believe he was charged that. We were working on it all day today, I'm excited to show off what we have done so far.
Templar x 250cc, you're welcome!
Does it have a gas meter?
I wish you had given the specs of the bike. like basic specs. Love your channel
I just did that in a comparison video. See I was looking for a low seat height bike for my daughter so I looked into the XR150r and the XT250. If you want all the spec talk I go into great detail in this video:

@@MotorcyclesOffroad awesome. thank you so much
@@goldfish8196 no problem, I will also have a review in time.
I would definitely buy this bike in decent shape for $3000 for my wife, but you can't find them around here for that anymore. They are in high demand and thus the price is sticky, and new ones have gone way up just like any other bikes. There are no cheap bikes in 2023.
A lot of guys these days can't turn a wrench...thats why dealerships can get away with ridiculous service prices...
2023 is 5k
small bikes are cool ...sounds like the dealership that serviced the bike under the prior owner maybe needs to get called out for price-gouging and poor service. 🤔
Yamaha XT250
$5,299*
Destination Charge: $325
Freight Surcharge: $250*****
MSRP is $5,399
? Huh? NOT 3,000
More like 6,000 out the door
3k where? Beat up used ones maybe
There is always a few for 3k around me.
Not 3K--- $5300.00 USD
I literally bought it for 3k. You want it? I will sell it to you right now for $3200 with even with the 800$ of upgrades I did to it.
Yeah good luck finding one for 3K. I see 10 Y/O ones with over that asking price....
Well I paid 3,000 for this one and there is 4 more on marketplace near me for 3000$.
LIES! XT250 msrp is $5199!!
There are plenty of these bikes with less than 8k miles for around the $3,000 mark. A low mile used bike means no freight, or dealer prep. Also, less sales tax.
Agree 100%
