Resizing a watch bracelet (Christopher Ward Trident Pro 600)

  • Watch me resize a watch bracelet by removing the bracelet and a couple links from a Christopher Ward Trident Pro 600. Funnily enough this watch had two different spring bars, which gave me more to talk about! This bracelet uses friction pins, so this process applies to other bracelets that use similar pins. The tool I use for the spring bars is a Bergeon 6767-F. I recommend buying the 6767-S tool (for straps) and also get the 6767-F head (for bracelets). #watchbracelet #watchrepair #watchtools

    Thanks for the video! But truly this is a pain. Screw pins on my Sinn are so easy to use.

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  4 года назад

      I have screw pins on my GS and it is certainly easier. Any system has pros and cons. For example, screws can more easily loosen and fall out than collar pins.

      @@WatchComplications totally agree with you. I don't know anything about watches nor I want to know. This is not something for me. Because of the virus I had nothing to do so bought a few cheap watches. And just sharing my opinions. Anyways. Thanks for your video!))

    What if the watch doesn’t have arrows

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  5 лет назад +8

      This one doesn't have arrows. If it's a pin and collar system like this, it doesn't matter what direction you push the pin out, you can go either way.

    Christopher Ward bracelets are among the most difficult on the market to adjust. I have adjusted many watch bracelets from many different watch manufacturers and Christopher Ward are the absolute worst (especially their titanium bracelets). I would place their build quality beneath that of Citizen. If you do buy a watch from them, pay Christopher Ward the $5 to adjust the bracelet - it will save you the time and aggravation. And then get ready to pay a hefty customs fee to reimburse DHL if you live in the USA and order a Christopher Ward watch from the UK.

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  2 года назад

      Well the video is a little old, nowadays CW has the quick release bracelet, so that makes things easier. Then it’s just a matter of having the right tools for removing the pins and replacing them. I adjusted one just the other day in less than five minutes, much faster and less risky than screw links. I like the pin and collar much more than screw links. No issues with adhesive, mucking up screws, or them working loose with time and wear.

      As for customs, that’s not a CW thing that’s a US thing. Any item imported over $800, expect to pay about 10% in duty. That would happen with any purchase from anywhere outside the US.

    • @thomaspetro9228
      @thomaspetro9228 2 года назад

      I understand the US customs issue, of course. But I’m happy to report that I don’t have to wrangle with adjusting the links in the titanium bracelet of my C63 Sealander Elite anymore. I’m sending it back to Christopher Ward. I was dismayed to discover that the seconds hand hacking mechanism works intermittently on my watch. And when manually winding the movement, a coarse grinding sound is audible. The stem wobbles, too. I’m terribly shocked, honestly. This movement received a COSC certification! How’s this possible? Thankfully, Christopher Ward has a 60 day return policy. I’ll request a refund.

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  2 года назад +1

      that’s weird that hacking would work intermittently…the stop lever is not a component that has issues often. (See my video on how the hacking complication works, I use an SW210 as an example). Either way, CW does have a flexible return policy.

    I think I bent mine :( one link was sticking out and it didnt look secure. What can I do?

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  Год назад +1

      depending on how bent you are talking maybe you can bend it back? roll it on a flat hard surface to see how and where it is bent, then maybe with gentle pliers or hammer get it back into shape. Other option is to get a new link and pin probably.

      Good question actually. The Christopher Ward Enthusiast (CWE) facebook group's first bespoke build was this watch. And it was the very first watch to feature the Twin Flags at 12 (though I'd have to double check that with the C7 Rapide line around the same time), due to request, and it wasn't until quite some time after this moment that CW moved to this logo at 12 across the brand. This was an LE of 50.

    Just took my CW out of the box after like a year of not wearing it. Needed to remove one link and gave up in the end. One of the pins doesn't even want to go back in. Nobody should be using this stupid idiotic system. When done properly screws will not fall out and they are superior in every way.

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  2 года назад

      when a pin doesn’t want to go in, it’s because the links aren’t lined up exactly.
