Thank you 😁 I had great fun getting out & exploring the Tarrants. Was out for the best part of 7 hours; was flipping starving when I got home at 8pm lol
Lovely video of my favourite area in the UK, I used to holiday in wedgewood cottage in Tarrant Hinton back in the early 80s. Please do some more on the history of the area. Like the gliders for D Day launched from Tarrant Rushton.
Glad you liked the video :) It's been on my mind for a while now to do a video on Tarrant Rushford airfield; must get over there and actually do one. Would be quite nice to get out to the Tarrant's again, do a bit more in-depth video
@@westcountryexplorer Hi! I'm Jack Hargreaves' stepson; first knew him in 1948 and grew up with him and my mum. I've enjoyed watching yours and my stepdad's explorations. What an amazing thing it is to 'read' the land and imagine the lives of long gone ancestors, as others may do for us.
@@SimonBaddeley I'm glad you've enjoyed watching my explorations. I've watched a few of your step-fathers videos on RUclips & really enjoyed them. I do love getting out into the countryside and discovering the history of the places & 'reading' the land. I admire the strong connection our ancestors had with the land/countryside; t'is a bit of a shame modern society has lost that connection a bit.
@@westcountryexplorer I share your preference for cycling, though at 80 i rely on my ebike. Respect and delight in your search for and reporting of connections.
I did my own video for my channe,l last year, of a visit to Tarrant Monkton. It was good to be able to compare the place today with how it was when the late Jack Hargreaves filmed. Shame you missed a drink in the pub. Nice place. Very friendly. Recovered very well from the fire.
30 years ago this same journey was done by jack hargreaves . Old country was the programmes title . . Remember watching it waaay back then . . Names all originate from original saxon immigrants . . Your a little late mate . .
Thank you excellent video👍👍

Glad you enjoyed it 😁 The Jack Hargreaves vid is an excellent one
Stunning location Dave . Thanks for sharing some nice places
They are pretty amazing villages; I had a good day exploring them.
Wonderful, thankyou.
My pleasure 😊
Love the intro...it's like being at the cinema in the 60's again with Pearl & Dean ads!!
I love the P&D music, always makes me think of cinema trips. That's mainly why I chose it for my intro

Hemmin! Me! Tarrants ahoy. Went there for my birthday.

Aye, is good to be able to compare the place nowadays to Jack Hargreaves day. One day I'll get round to visiting the pub there.
@@westcountryexplorer The landlady is very friendly and the beer good.
@@stationmasterschoice-walku1307 That's what I like to hear :) As nice as a good beer is, it's even better when the pub's run by a friendly landlady.
