I enjoyed watching you with your mom. My mom was 80 and she unexpectedly passed away in June and I miss her so much. Watching you two together brought me such joy. My mom had a box where she tucked everything…we shred so much paper when cleaning out her house! I am not in Australia, but tell her I say hello from Ohio!

Carla, tell your mum she indeed made us laugh. Home for a few years was Droitwich Spa then Eastergate ,West Sussex when our kids were little. That was 24 years ago and I still miss England ,we had some fun adventures and met my two best friends. I miss it everyday some 20 years later. Though I have gone back to visit a few times, next one I hope next year. I didn’t even make it over in the five years our daughter lived in London, before moving home to Toronto. My son and daughter in law have a delightful 3 year old girl here in Melbourne so I moved here this year at 71. Loving it! I lost my mum 12 years ago aged 92 although the last 4 of those she spent in care with dementia 😞 I do miss the shopping trips we used to have together - she was a great one for taking things back so she would buy an outfit 2 or 3 times before she decided it was right - it was like triple shopping with her 😃

Oh dear! I'm not someone's older parent (that I know of!) but I do exactly the same as your mother with my bills! In my defence, I have a clear out about every 5 years!
I have done all of the windows in my conservatory with the window cling (stops my nosey neighbour having a good old snoop! 🤣) So easy to do and I have to say, it has lasted so well - I did them about 7 years ago and they never peel away and I have had no issues with cleaning them
Great vlog Carla. I miss the shopping trips I used to take my mom on just like this, well I miss very very much all the time but this was very nostalgic to me. I visited & did things for her every day but our little shopping trips we both really enjoyed together. I have the most ridiculous tiny window in my open plan living & dining room, it serves zero purpose, can’t open it, I call it my fairy window lol, has a shelf so I’ve put a few things on it, but there’s no way you could ever get a curtain or blind for it! I purchased some of that privacy tape from wilko when it was open when I first moved in here, drove me a bit bonkers that you have to buy an entire roll rather than just a sheet for those only needing a bit! Still, it went on fine! Use an old credit card or something to smooth it out as you go, and peel it as you go too. Mines still on 2 1/2 years later! Yes I found the cheesy bean crisps odd too lol I didn’t dislike them, & I tasted the beans too! There was an odd tang to them that I couldn’t put my finger on. Your mum is a treasure. My dad did the same - my mum too actually but my dad was terrible for paperwork. He passed suddenly in June and I think my brother took 2 huge boxes away to shred lol. Say hello to your mum from me, I’m only in Cambridgeshire though! Xx

I’m not in Australia, will Cambridgeshire do? Your mum is lovely 😊. I have a similar arrangement with my mum, shopping and lunch out every week. The occasional trip to doctors etc. My mum also has a virtually clear fridge but she’s always buying food stuff ‘for the cupboard’. We laugh about it because she tends to end up giving things away rather than eat them herself. I have a suspicion she might hoard bills but haven’t seen any evidence yet. Gotta love em, mums that is not bills xxx

I’m not in Australia, will Cambridgeshire do? Your mum is lovely 😊. I have a similar arrangement with my mum, shopping and lunch out every week. The occasional trip to doctors etc. My mum also has a virtually clear fridge but she’s always buying food stuff ‘for the cupboard’. We laugh about it because she tends to end up giving things away rather than eat them herself. I have a suspicion she might hoard bills but haven’t seen any evidence yet. Gotta love em, mums that is not bills xxx
