Was and will always be King Yellow man. However, he was never called "King of the dancehall." He is the first dancehall King👍🏿. Many people will be called King of the Dancehall, but there will only be one King Yellow Man
Love yellow man he is the king off dancehall. And the king off fighting adversity prejudices this guy is a true warrior and inspiration to people facing difficult times and challenges. Ive had nuff tribulation in my life so understand this guy totally and i take my hat off to him true Lion and survivor he was abandoned and mocked and come back roaring like a lion🙏❤️🦁
The man has gone through more adversities than ten men combined! He's been married to the same woman since 1987 I believe. He's in his 70s but jumps around in spandex pants and sleeveless shirt, looking more fit than dudes in their 30s! He's a good dude and deserves the world!
I think he was one of the first cats to own a home on Jamaicas famous Blueberry Hill? That Sagittarius Band, lead by bassist Derrick Barnett, was TIGHT as HELL! Everywhere he went in JA, children LOVED him, he was king of the toasters!👍🏿
@@vadermasktruth yes my brother , and you never heard him, in any mixed up . I can remember when Yellow Man djs, on Jack Ruby sound in Ochi Jamaica 🇯🇲. The same attention Vybz Kartel, getting now. That was Yellow Man in his time . Anywhere goes, people just followed him . He certainly knows how, to proform and hold his audience. Today's djs, can't do that. One thing with Yellow Man, he knows how to dress. Long live King Yellow.
Watching and listening, from the UK 🇬🇧. I think we, all heard how Yellow Man was treated in Jamaica 🇯🇲 ? Just because he was different. My question is to, others, who travel, saying they face racism. Wasn't Yellow Man Jamaican ? And looked, how he was treated ? He was facing racism, in his own country. I 've seen it with my own eyes, is not anyone telling me . I'm Jamaican by birth. I have seen djs, after Yellow Man, used the Mikeorephone. And other djs , would wipe off the Mike, or ask for an different Mike . The only dj, shown Yellow Man love, was , Peter Metro. Mi done talk. Long live Yellow ❤
Great video! Very informative. I had no idea Yellowman had such a turbulent upbringing. Good on him for his continued success, as he as defied the odds.
GOD HAS BLESSING THIS AMAZING HUMAN BEING HES A LOVEING FATHER A HUSBAND AND GRANDFATHER TOO MAY GOD KEEP HIM AND HIS WHOLE FAMILY SAFE IN JESUS NAME AMEN STAY STRONG KING YELLOWMAN 😊😀🔅🔆🌅🌄🌇🇯🇲
The first time I get drunk… is when yellow man was pro-forming, behind GP on a stage show… in the late 80’s, I was around 15/16… and drank 3 bottles of Heinekens.. and feel my head started spinning 😂😂😂 … yh, and I met him in stingrays Studio in London.. and he do a 1 jingle for my lil’ sound 😁😁🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥☝🏾Yellow🔥
Now I wonder, when Junjo heard about yellowman, could people possibly at the time be talking about the late Purpleman (rest in power)? Probably not, but there was a time both had the name
Yellowman's music got me into dancehall music in 1982 when I was twelve years old. I recall all the challenges he had as an albino but Eek A Mouse gave him his first break. Still love his music to this day but I don't hear it too often now. He was certainly very prolific.
That's really sad. Most jamaicans have his albino gene but it didn't manifest. I know I have this albino gene in me. I think they say it's from the book of ENOCH! Theres a few albino jamaicans that live in toronto and there thriving. I have a famous cousin that's an albino model who's really popular. Alot of the jamaican albinos they travel to tanzania. I'm a pure bred jamaican. Jamaican Albinos just prove our jamaican roots have cauasian DNA. I'm all mixed up Yellowman had great music. He's a legend. He taught a few good lessons with his music " Cocaine will blow your brain but the sensimillia is irie😅" 😂😂😂😂 Hilarious You can't blame yellowman.for being a weedman. He had a rough life but he brought light as to who we truly arr as jamaicans. 💯🇯🇲✌🏿
After Marley there was loads of other artist , he wasn’t missed at all, there was loads of MCs better than yellow man, he was just a freak at that time, he was good but there was better
FOR youngsters to understand, It was Yellowman that brought real authentic Jamaican dancehall style to the masses...at least in the USA. Bouyed by that mainstream record contract, he was promoted heavily and well travelled on the club circuits. It was him and Eek a Mouse, but Yellow was more the true representation of what was really happening in Jamaican dancehalls. This was even before SuperCat and Shabba had some success stateside. Yellowman was a pioneer who people that knew nothing about Jamaican music artists other than Marley or Jimmy Cliff, might recognize and remember during the 80's
@@MichaelSmith-xb5cp yeah in England as well, but I was listening to Johnny ringo,, Welton irie, brigadier Jerry, rankin toyan, Peter metro, Jah Thomas, early b , general echo, Charlie Chaplin, and loads more too much to mention, if yellow man was a albino he would be the same as the others, and fathead yellomans pntr had more lyrics than yelllo
@krisbraun4754 Yeah, England( and northern Europe) certainly had much more exposure due to its relalation to the island, those artists you mentioned might have had connection in NYC, Miami, or perhaps even Los Angeles and Canada. I do remember there were some English based DJ's that came through like Pato Bantan and Tippa Irie, plus lots of roots acts like Burning Spear, Black Uhuru, Culture, etc.... perhaps one DJ that may have predated Yellowman was Dillinger, but again, that may have remained an urban niche. I think part of the slow uptake was a lot of Jamaican music was based on STAX and MoTown cover material, thus a reluctance by the US music biz to throw any weight behind it.
He definitely deserves a movie...He gotta story to tell
Yellow man is the original real king of Dance hall Reggae.

Respect to Yellow man and his cool daughter. ❤
Yellow man got his style from the late Echo aka Rankin Slackness
Is true, I went a lot of yelloman's shows in Lima, Perú.
King Yellow's albums on Volcano got me into dancehall after my parents got me into roots. Junjo, Roots Radics and Volcano crew were fyah
Wow

Took him in a few years ago when he was 60 years old in Canada. His energy was just like when he was in his 20 something

Big up Jones Town , Arnette Gardens and Jungle on a whole...a dem buss King Yellow Man
Need to do one on "Lacksley Castell"
I believe that yellowman was sent by God the almighty
Maby, he was sent to show that one's skin color necessarily doesn't say anything about the content of their character.
For me and where I camw from we would have led with his version of Country Road, zungzunguzeng, and nobody move nobody get hurt of course
Ninja man was way after Yellow man
Very sad childhood.
it is said that yellow man cried when he heard the skulls of the old ladies cracked during the eventide fire arson attack in 1980!
❤️
Noah was a albino aswell...
Does anyone know why or how his mouth became disfigured? 💛
Cancer. He lost some of his jaw in the operation to prevent its growth.

Good work.
It had nothing to do with his skin color, it was his condition that made people weary, not his skin color.
Jamaicans are not racist! 🇯🇲
You are incredibly naive, Jamaicans are colour biased hence they would only employ fair skinned people in the banks etc, do some historical research.
Jamaican’s been disrespecting Yellowman wayyyyyyy before illness begin, uno to damn badmind! Period!
