      Oh yeah! I'm loving this tree so far. Part 2 is finishing the cleanup. Wife wasn't feeling well so the board planting will have to wait a few days but I'll get it done and uploaded asap. I have a really nice update video to film this weekend and then about a hundred others to do in the coming weeks. Better strap in, spring will be here before you know it!

    I remember the first video on this tree and that is an amazing result. Is the tree going back in the ground for another year?

      Yes, I need to pick a leader and start a new trunk section this spring. So it'll be in the ground at least for this year.

    Any downside to doing this trick to make the nebari bigger?

      None that I'm aware of. I'll have an update on this tree in the not-too-distsnt future, so we'll see!

    Amazing video man, thank you for putting these out. How far apart do you keep trees in the ground?

    • @smalltrees
      @smalltrees  2 года назад +1

      When they don't have many lateral branches, probably only two feet apart. After a year of growth I have to spread them out. This year I want to havw everything at least three feet apart, but I'm not sure that I have the space.

      @@smalltrees Gotcha, that makes sense. I want to plant out around 25 seedlings which isn't too bad right now. But planting all them out 2-3 feet apart in the future might be a challenge haha.

      If you plan on potting or selling some then you can probably plan on your future space being a little smaller than you are imagining now. But I always seem to expand every year lol.

    The tree looks great and has tons of potential. Thumbs down on the background music though.

      Thank you. I'm excited for it over the next couple of years. My videos for tomorrow feature some of the same music, but I will probably be changing after those.
