I recently found your channel and I love your videos man. I'm a complete noob in the EDC world and I have learnt so much from you. I really appreciate the love and effort you put in your videos. Much love from Uruguay. :)
Admire your enthusiasm and the featured EDC hardware Taylor. As a wildland firefighter for 35 years, I made my living perfecting my EDC line gear with a focus on utility, weight, and comfort. In retirement, I created "MagPelt" to satisfy my evolving EDC preparedness needs. Try complimenting your pocket carry arsenal with MagPelts to feather the load. Nice work.
I think I took inspiration from you, actually when I went to the Hobby Lobby and got a small craft shackle that works really well for my keys after I ground off the end of the pin protruding out. It's basically just a small version of a rigging shackle.
I too returned my garmin fenix 6....and now I wear a casio ca-53w....sooo much more comfortable AND if I concentrate very hard I can solve a simple mathematical problem!
Agreed on the TPT Slide. I've had one in my pocket every day for probably 2 years. I use it all the time both at work and at home. I pretty much never use a pocket knife (even though I always have one on me) because I usually just need to open something or breakdown something and with the razer blade, you don't care if you screw it up. I love the TOPO version! Would like to have that one too.
IWC pilot watch. Breitling NAVitimer. Rolex Daytona. At some point this will be the centerpiece of your EDC. You really should think about getting an elite high and watch. Love your channel thank you
Whatever happened to your Rovyvons? You got me into them and I haven't ever been disappointed. Also, not all of us have $200-$400 for a single piece of gear. Why not try carrying a Civivi or something under $100 for a while. Still, I love the channel and keep up the good damn work!
My EDC has been Ruger LCP max, Buffalo leather wallet, leatherman wave+, Gerber U.S. assist knife, hero clip (for keys), Streamlight stylus pro USB flashlight, rite in the rain pocketbook and pen, garmin instinct solar watch, a paracord bracelet, polarized oakleys and Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra. Too much for your standard pair of jeans so I bought 5.11 jeans that have 2 extra pockets (and honestly next to the polarized oakleys my favorite purchase)
The reylight pineapple mini can go as low as 38 bucks for the brass model and the titanium models can be had for around 50 bucks directly on the reylight website, so actually not as expensive as you said and quite attainable pricewise. Also I think you had the switch types backwards. Forward clicky means the light turns on when you press down on the button and reverse clicky means the light turns on as your finger comes off of the button.
I’ve been in the same Boat for watches for a while. I don’t use most functions on smart watches but like the ability to have fitness tracking. My wife got me a fossil hybrid. Still has a step counter and has the ability to vibrate for notifications. I’ve really enjoyed it. Plus it has a 6 month battery life and looks exactly like a traditional watch.
I did the same as you for a while, but ultimately ended up going back to traditional watches with a smartwatch when I workout. Alternatively you could check out something like a oura ring
Yoooo broooo! I feel like sometime ago I’ve seen you with a seiko? Maybe? With like a coffee brown leather strap on it. Any ideas what strap that might have been?
For leather wallets, Bosca in business since 1903. Excellent quality and decent prices. I'm now replacing a front pocket wallet with earth magnet money clip after 15 years.
I think you should do your least favorite carry knife to your most prized knife all year long. It might be a fun challenge! Keep up the good work and Carry on my dude!
Would you be interested in a old school rareish citizen eco drive watch? I don't wear it enough to keep it charged up anymore seeing I'm mostly working on a tractor or doing stuff that I can't wear it
I float between 4 knives …. My button lock elementium, my barrage, manix 2 and para 3 lightweight …. I also carry a leatherman free t2…. Much better function than the victorinox tinker to me
I also carry the powerpint as my multitool however I've noticed that it opens a lot in my pocket. Plenty of times I'll reach in and poke myself on the pliers.
Great videos mate, I switched from my Breitling to a Garmin Fenix 6 sapphire as I don't like "smart watches" and find it's a nice compromise between analogue & smart !!
Galaxy s20, carhartt wallet, big idea designs ti mini click pen, streamlight micro stream, leatherman charge plus, and a benchmade griptillian in s30v steel all blacked out
My most carried this year: Redeemed Creations Slim Wallet, Samsung Galaxy S10E, Benchmade mini Bugout in triple black, Leatherman Free P2, Fisher Space Pen Bullet, and the Olight I3T.
Geez, I'm all about EDC, but after looking up the cost of the Garmin watch alone...... everything I wear... EVERYDAY....is less expensive than HALF the price of that single watch. I couldn't imagine walking around everyday with "EDC" gear that costs $1k+. From my work boots to my pants to my undershirts to my wallet to my pen, flashlight, OC spray....I'm maybe pushing $200.
With so many choices your channel has shown me I feel like I can actually be more organized with my pocket space to be an on the go functional human being but with so many choices And styles I feel overwhelmed with all I could have so how do you recommend putting together one that works for an individual (I am sure you get that a lot but still)
Out of all the things shown I am most interested in the band you have on your Garmin watch. Where did you get that, and how do you like it? Just found your channel today, and watched a few videos already. Liking your videos!
Merry xmas and happy holidays to you, your family, and your team. Here's to hoping the WKF and Monday Lives return in the new year once things start to (hopefully) even out.
I found similar shackles for my keys at a local yacht/sailboat supply store. Been using it to organize me keys for months and love it! Sometimes it’s beneficial to look for gear outside the normal EDC circles
I’ve talked about generic shackles before. They’re sold almost everywhere. The reason I use this one specifically is because it works with the Tough Clip because it’s flat. Most shackles are round stock and won’t work with it.
The EDC world has gotten totally insane. I'm not hating on anyone spending crazy loot, but your everyday blue-collar work isn't spending these outrageous prices. 300 for a pocket knife, 200 for a finger-sized flashlight, 400 for a simple multi-tool, 200 for a pen...and these are the low prices. LMAO. Like I said, not a hater. Buy what you want for whatever price. BUT this is getting ridiculous. I have a trucker and a construction buddy that have been serious about EDC for over ten years. Their carryouts top out at 300'ish total. Love the channel dude. It's very entertaining.
@@BestDamnEDC This comment wasn't against what you post and buy. It was just my opinion about the cost of EDC these days. It's kinda like jewelry...a 70% markup on what the materials actually cost. I just think things are getting way too expensive. I'm not talking about custom work and one-offs. And like I said, I love the channel and your vids. Hell I have purchased some pricy items. I figured you wouldn't mind this opinion on the EDC world today.
I think people find some of it necessary and some not. I for example have no use for a flashlight, not often a pen, and I definitely don’t need a fixed blade, so for me it’s just a small pocketknife, a wallet, and my minimal keychain. So because it’s really only two things, I can afford to get a nice wallet and a nice knife. I can see how it would because a little ridiculous if you’re carrying around $2k in 7 different pocket accessories
@@Corndog4382 Yeah I get that. Like I said, I'm not knocking anyone for how much their carry costs. I just think some companies are taking advantage and marking prices too high. Either way EDC is fun. I purchase more budget knives ($85 average), but I have like 6 of them...so it all adds up.
Very nice EDC. I've been thinking of getting the SOG powerpint. I've been carrying a True Utility multitool that I've beat to help using it as a hammer in a pinch. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting the Topo TPT Slide and the emblems in the mail and adding them to my EDC.
confused why it has to be *that* shackle for the keys... can't you find a comparable piece at an average hardware store? or is the discontinued one the only shackle ever made in that small form factor... anyway love the videos, great stuff!
That’s a solid question. Yea, any old shackle will do that same thing. Not not just any shackle will fit on the Tough Clip but this one does because it’s flat. I should’ve explained that a little better (I have in the past but just missed it this time around.)
What's the strap on the Garmin? I'm running a Forerunner 945. Had the Fenix 5x but Garmin swapped it out when I developed an allergy to the metal. Garmin support is awesome.
Take EDC literally and have a true “ EVERY DAY” carry for the entire year, I think that would be the ultimate challenge
