  • Pruning a 60 metre, or 200 foot Mountain Ash. the client was worried about the amount of large overextended limbs hanging over his house. I was contracting to Gotcha Stumped tree services and we spent the day pruning this beautiful tree

    Enjoyed the video. Nice bit of climbing, rigging & cutting. Enjoy it while you're young Harry. Time flies by! I worked a 70-80' poplar last week that had been struck by lightning causing the spar to split. Got a little hairy after cutting out the top limbs....but survived (I did a short video on youtube). That's about the limit of my climbing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    Would it have been better to retain the lower scaffold branches and just reduce end wiegst to strengthen limbs and reduce failure risk i like to leave lower branches and rudimentary the weight so they act as protection from anything falling from the upper canopy

    • @treeclimberharry582
      @treeclimberharry582  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah this a good point and potentially a good option, especially to mitigate damage from higher branches failing. But given how one sided the tree was I think it probably helped to balance it out. The client had a tree uproot and fall through the house a few years earlier, so I think whole tree failure was the main concern.

      That’s the way I view it. OnceI got over the fear at 30 feet or so it didn’t matter to me going higher . As Reg Coates said “nothing has changed that happened at 10 feet it actually should be easier as the tree thins”.
