CD’s #’s 4 through 11 are basically interchangeable. They are all great and I can listen to any one of them and enjoy each equally. One of the greatest progressive bands of all time!
I love The Perfect Element. I´ve listened to this album since its release, and I still feel impressed and touched by it. There´s so much depth: layers, melancholy, heavy and delicate parts, complexity, and the tension sustained by the harmony-it´s all there. For me, it´s a masterpiece.
Listened to a bit of Pete's top two on the list and will be listening to those albums and perhaps more. Thanks as always, Pete, for expanding my musical horizons.
Scarsick was my first album that I heard from them and instantly fell in love with PoS. So many great riffs, many great vocal melodies, very interesting stuff. Definitely a very underrated band
I waited for this as PoS is one of my favourite prog metal bands. My ranking: 9. Road Salt One 8. Road Salt Two (Eleven and The Deeper Cut brings this album higher than its predecessor) 7. In The Passing Light of Day (much greater than Road Salt duology) 6. Entropia (very adventuruos prog metal) 3-5. Scarsick 3-5. One Hour By The Concrete Lake 3-5. The Perfect Element, Part I (hard to separate those three, all different but very interesting albums) 1-2. Remedy Lane 1-2. Be (Be was my favourite for a long time just because of its massive concept, but these days I caught myself enjoying Remedy Lane a lot, so I put them in a tie).

YES!!! Thank you Pete! I'm glad to see someone else knows who these guys are here in the states. Also I recommend "The Perfect Element" as a starting point since it was my introduction to the band.
The Perfect Element Pt. 1 was my introduction to this band and still my favorite. Passing Light and Remedy Lane would round out my top 3! Great band, great show!
Super. My favourite band. My list changes from day to day depending on my mood. Often I'd put the Road Salt albums higher but not today. New no. 1 Panther 1 In the Passing Light of Day 2 Be 3 Remedy Lane 4 Perfect Element 5 Scarsick 6 Road Salt 2 7 Road Salt 1 8 Entropia 9 One Hour by the Concrete Lake 10 12:5 (live acoustic) 11 Falling Home (covers) Looking forward to the new album, some electronics so different again. A truly progressive band. Would love to hear what you think of the new album, at the moment for me, it goes right in at number one. I love it, familiarity over time may place it differently, we will see. Every album is brilliant and there aren't many bands you can say that about.
They definitely sound worth checking from what you say Pete. Btw, I'm looking forward to the day you're able do more on my favourite - this time Norwegain - band, Motorpsycho. I've read your reviews of The Tower and The Crucible, both of which you liked a lot, so hopefully you'll be digging into their discography. There's also a great documentary film about them online 'Into the Maelstrom' (2019).
I recently saw them live for the first time which reinvigorated my interest in the band. When I was in my late teens and early twenties, I listened to this band a lot and they were a huge influence on my own songwriting. So, what follows is my current ranking for my personal list. I think I put 'Scarsick' a lot higher than most people do; it came out at a time where my interest in the band was at its peak, so that is an element to why I like that album so much. Also, even though I put the 'Road Salt' albums last on my list, have to say that I recently re-evaluated them and, I like them a lot more now than I did when they first came out. Still, I find myself enjoying certain song from those albums, but the albums themselves as a whole have never fully grabbed me. That might change though. If you ask me again in a year, this list might be different. I'm starting to think I actually might like the 'Road Salt' albums better than 'In the Passing Light of Day.' I doubt that 'Remedy Lane' will ever get knocked off my top spot though. I first discovered that album my freshman year of college and it immediately became one of my favorite albums, and remains such to this day. 1. Remedy Lane 2. BE 3. The Perfect Element, Pt. 1 4. Scarsick 5. Panther 5.5 12:05 6. Entropia 7. One Hour By Concrete Lake 8. In The Passing Light of Day 9. Great show, Pete. I feel PoS’s output has been generally incredible. Scarsick is the one I go back to the least. Remedy Lane, however, is simply one of the best albums ever made. I bought it back in 2002 and still revisit it often; at this point it sounds like a timeless classic.
Absolutely love In The Passing Light Of Day, it's some of the best music they have ever written in recent years. I've seen Pain Of Salvation twice and they were absolutely incredible.

2-One Hour By The Concrete Lake
1-Remedy Lane
What's your favorite band ever? This is mine :) .
PD: Are you gonna review Panther when it comes out?
Passing Light of day is the best for me, but i discovered them later. Masterpiece!
@@stephanea5364 Glad you discovered them, it's never too late :D
@@isaacgabrielvalbuena2896 When i discovered them, i was pleased to see they had a boxset of Entropia, Concrete Lake, Remedy Lane, Perfect Element and 12:5. Let me tell you, i had a blast. I bought the Remixed Remastered version of Remedy Lane also. Amazing!
