Well done to all concerned. A fitting tribute and so nice to acknowledge the school where it began. Pete Quaife R.I.P and thanks for your contribution to The History of Popular Music.
@jvm22187 The plaque is located in north London at the Fortismere School in Tetherdown Muswell Hill, London N10 1NE just off of Fortis Green Road. It is inside!
I am not all into reunions for reunion's sake, but I read an interview with Pete in 1998 where he talked about getting back with Ray, Dave and Mick for an original CD. Then Ray had some tiff and it never happened. It seemed Pete was really excited to do it. Ah, one of the few reunions I would have liked to heard something from.
At that time, and up until recently, the tiff was always between Ray and Dave, no issues with Pete. Yes, Pete really wanted to do something again, but too late now. 😢
I lived around the corner from that school and, when I had my first child, I dreamt that my children would go to that school but it wasn't to be. We moved away 😥
This sounds like it was recorded in Trafalgar, the Square if not The Battle of. It's a good job The Kinks had better sound engineers than this to record the music or one of my formative musical experiences would have been denied.
I had the good fortune to meet Pete a few times and he was a very nice and funny guy. A well deserved honor for him.
RIP Pete you will never be forgotten LEGEND
Pete Quaife was a criminally underrated bassist! John Entwistle has said that Quaife heavily influenced him and his own playing is modeled after his
High praise from Entwistle, who was a total animal on bass!
You could never hear him

R.I.P.Pete,you inspired a lot of young people to pick up a bass
Yes, including John Entwistle....Ox has said several times that his bass playing was modeled after Quaife
Crikey, is it really 6 years since we gave Pete back to the earth ?
Thanks for the loan. Much loved.
RIP Peter,never forgotten.

Ray and Mick have certainly aged pretty well.

Very lovely tribute.

Top Top quality bassist.
Overlooked in The Kinks compared to band mates Ray & Dave whose sibling rivalry was the main dynamic in the band.
Thanks, Bruce!
I wish someone could take the traffic out.
He was a great--good--bass player. Irreplaceable. You do not need to be the star to make it happen.
Too much traffic - Why didn't they close the fucking doors?
I think that is Frank Allen of The Searchers!
Yes you are right. Frank is a very nice guy.
Nice plaque.
Very nice.
God save the Kinks.
Nice
sorry you can diden nearly here any thinks whart the say for the noice in the background
Ah Lord Ray...well he should be. Did Ray like Mick or just out up with him?
Where is this?
Maybe next time the organizers could afford a microphone. :)
Probably deliberate. Don't want to be heard clearly in a nation that's trying to criminalize free speech

Peter Quaife deserved more of a tribute than this poorly recorded mire of a video clip. Nice plaque though. R.I.P. 06-23-2010 ✨️💖🎶☮️
