  • ...Ey up firebugs !
    .
...Here's one I haven't tried before so I thought I'd give it a bash. Powdered snail shells as a fire roll accelerant.
    .
...I just ground the shell on a rough stone straight on to some coconut husk rolled it up & gave it a roll.
    .
... It was a bit slow to establish the ember but I think that was partly down to me stopping a little too soon but I saw a whisp of smoke & managed to coax out an ember.
    .
    ...Happy #fireitupfriday everyone !
    .
...Enjoy your weekend guys, lots of love, stay safe and I'll catch ya soon.

Very interesting, I just stumbled across this and honestly didn't know what to expect, and now I know that you can use snail shells as an aid in ignition of kindling. I honestly don't know if I would call it an accelerant, due to the term being used mostly in relation to additional fuels, but it will most definitely increase the friction and aid in lighting your fires. Well done mate, very interesting, straight to the point, no fuss.
    Thumbs up mate

Thanks, yeh accelerant might not quite be the right term though it does also help the ember spread through the roll but your right it helps with the friction & helps bind the fibres together & stop the roll coming apart when it's rolling.😀👍
