- Is Prince Harry adding a new chapter to his book to address the Queen's funeral? Plans are starting to emerge about King Charles’s coronation next year, with some concerned that political correctness with triumph over tradition. One sticking point is over whether Queen Consort will wear the famous Koh-i-Noor diamond in her crown. The Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English reports that but the paper’s Diary Editor Richard Eden says to bow-down to criticism would be a ‘crazy’ mistake. ‘The Royal Family should not go woke, it’s crazy, if they go down this route, there’ll be no end to it!’ he tells the programme. ‘The Supreme Court of India in 2016 ruled that the diamond wasn’t stolen, it was a gift from India, that was accepted then. So there’s no reason to think there’s a problem with it. It’s part of the Crown Jewels, they have these jewels, it’s part of our heritage, so wear them.’ Our panel also discuss the very modern move made by Mike Tindall, husband of Princess Anne’s daughter Zarah Philips after it was reported that he would join the cast of reality show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

I agree with Richard. If the crown is swapped out then what’s next. In fact not using the crown is a silent acknowledgment of subjective ownership. Will that raise more voices to challenge who it belongs to?
The people love the RF especially with its rich traditions. No one does pomp and circumstance like the Brits. We’ve not seen a coronation in most of our lifetimes so please continue with the pagentry. One one note I agree with not using real fur. I doubt the RF will do so and maybe opt for something else just as stunning. From an American that loves your show. 👑 🤴 👸

Look what amazing accomplishments she achieved & now is being championed as the Hardest Working Royal. She has dedicated her Life to the Services of the Monarchy, Britain, the Commonwealth Countries & the Nation. She’s the No Nonsense Princess Royal, she’s inherited All her Mother’s Best Qualities. Why the snarky comment about Zara being 'bankrolled by grandpa Charles'? Zara is the daughter of Anne, Princess Royal and an independent woman in her own right.
I never believed that Harry was taking things out of his book to " tone it down " as many speculated. As soon as they reported the delay in releasing it, I said that Harry was going to add to it and moan about how poorly he was treated at Her Majesty's funeral. I also think they will release it sometime around the coronation because he really wants to do as much harm as possible. Let's see. By the time it actually does come out no one will care about it anymore.
I don't believe there was ever much interest in Harry's autobiography. Who at Random Penguin thought he had 4 books in him? Ridiculous.
If he wants to take our attention away from the Coronation he'll have to do better than launch a book. He'll have to announce their separation and pending divorce. And we'll only say " whew, finally"

I absolutely agree! Few people had television to see Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation, including my family. Born in 1946 I truly doubt that I will see Prince William's Coronation. I want to see as much bling as possible.

Yes! Unfortunate though that Diana had to live during the 1980s when the fashion was so, um, unflattering? Nice to see her later pics when things calmed down a bit.
Why? Why are age old, normal sorrow, grief, periods of depression or fear now considered mental health issues? It's ridicules that every negative human emotion is considered a mental health issue and it truly obscures very real and threatening mental health issues!!

@Dannette Peters. I believe the answer to your question is pushing prescription drugs. When my son passed away I couldn't believe the people trying to give me "something" to get me through. Just astonishing. I'm sure I will get a lot of flack about my post but so be it. I make a rosemary and clover honey tea when I need to relax.

My daughter will make the jubilee trifle again , which is yum , if you haven't tried it I highly recommend . Exactly. People forget that Britain was in an even worse economic situation in 1952/1953 than it is today.
I agree with Richard Eden. It´s a slippery slope down to woke existence and it requires the destruction or deconstruction of any historic ritual, object or event that has ever been detrimental to anybody. If the RF start following that logic, they will be walking into an ever narrowing tunnel. They must uphold history, with pride.

Though I am Indian I am glad the Khinoor was kept safe being in the Royal Jewels. It is for everyone to see and admire. It is always will be difficult if it goes to one country the other countries are not going to be happy.
The geopolitical aspect is interesting. Also, it was not uncommon for gifts of this magnitude to be given to royalty so it is possible that it was a gift.
I say wear the crown. Show pride and appreciation that India was part of your history and still important to you. Otherwise you are snubbing that magnificent gift. I think people forget, that member’s of the Royal Family, took part in Its a Knockout, many years ago, in 1981. Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. There were 4 team’s, made up of celebrities, with each Royal being the captain of a team. They were all raising money for different charities. It wasn’t great, pretty dire, if I remember rightly, but it did happen! I personally think Mike will do a great job in the Jungle. He’s what we call a Man’s Man, definitely competitive, from playing Rugby for England for a few years. I think it’s another damp squib, for people to take a pop at the Royal Family. It’s actually, his wife Zara that is the Royal, the daughter of Princess Anne. They make a fantastic couple, both well grounded people. I am sure, he will be fine, as you are saying, he will know, where to draw the line. It could of been worse, it could have been Celebrity Big Brother, where alcohol would be involved! 🤣🤣🤣

Catherine, Princess of Wales, has not been 'stilted' in her appearances. She was nervous when first becoming the Duchess of Cambridge which was to be expected but she has been a star for years.
I actually think she's about the only one who bloomed throughout Covid, she really got her confidence during all the Zoom calls she was doing, she's an absolute diamond to the RF when you consider she wasn't born into it - she's doing great..

Really wish you people would do some research! Harry was not permitted to wear his uniform as he had retired from the army - he was allowed to wear it only as a working royal as a courtesy from Her Majesty. Once he left, he could no longer wear it - something that he was well aware of!! Regarding the ER pips, he was not an Aide de Camp to Her Majesty and was not issued with the insignia. William was an Aide de Camp and was therefore expected to wear the insignia. Harry knew all this but allowed the media to get their knickers in a twist on his behalf because it made him look as if he was being hard done by and that the RF were being petty. Definitely not the case - he was not a working royal and had to follow protocol. Why do the public always have to do the research and inform all the so called journalists? Its annoying and really makes the journos look totally inept and lazy!

Personally I don’t think any of the grandchildren should have worn their uniforms when standing vigil at their grandmother’s coffin. They were there as her grandchildren not representing any of the services. That’s just my opinion. But yes H, or his wife, did stoke the media fire to make it sound like poor Harry. It’s so pathetic.

Is he not the king of all in the UK This simple statement, causes so much irritation in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Basha makes out it is only England that counts, in a country of so called equals, perhaps this programme should encourage its guests to use appropriate terms.

I think the English royalty has to maintain some aura of other worldly, fantasy and splendor without going overboard particularly during times of economic challenges. The special diamond that was spoken about was worn for precisely the occasion of a monarch’s coronation in the past and should be worn again by King Charles’s Queen Camilla.
