Destroyed chain drive? I can only imagine how this happened: A link broke off and the spinning chain coiled up in a bundle interfering with the engine drive sprocket and stripping all its teeth off. Lucky it did not hit the rear sprocket causing the rear wheel to bind with unpredictable results........ Did you manage to make a repair on the spot or did you have to find a way to haul the scoot to your home base for attention? This is the time a man has to make some critical decisions: Shift to a Vespa, no fear of this kind of breakdown there.
We were around 230 miles from home when this happened with approximately 110 left to go, so the decision was made to leave her in a friendly farmers garden & continue to the rally as a pinion passenger on the back on a jet 200. Was gutted, but it still ended up being a great weekend.
