- Sirdo, For what it is worth the 2023 amendments now require beekeepers to establish their apiaries 200 meters from the nearest residence, doubling the previous distance of 100 meters.
This regulation aims to mitigate risks such as bee stings and potential allergic reactions for nearby residents.
Additionally, beekeepers must adhere to several rules:
1. Not installing bees in movable frames.
2. Managing an unregistered apiary.
3. Failing to report infections or suspected infections or pests and diseases.
4. Importing comb foundation without a license.
These rules are crucial for maintaining bee health, preventing disease spread, and ensuring public safety.
violating any of these regulations can lead to a fine of one hundred thousand dollars.
The high fine serves as a strong deterrent, emphasizing the importance of compliance to protect both the beekeeping industry and the general public from potential hazards and economic losses associated with bee diseases and unmanaged apiaries.

A people gets a leader they deserve
Sirdo, When people are governed harshly it isn't neccessarily that they deserve such leadership.
Harsh governance can result from various factors like historical contact, political manipulation, and societal vulnerabilities.
People often suffer due to broader systemic issues collective deserts.
Thanks - for that intresting reminder, I'll remember that and bring it up at the next beekeepers meeting.

Sirdo, I saw this coming some 20 years ago and have lived to see it, this isn't good at all at least i have a 5 year surplus supply of d good honey to njoy as i am now retired from beekeeping.
Heaven help the beekeepers of the future.
