Another great review. Agree and I’ve chosen Agema for my legions, with some V&V mixed for further pose and armor variation. Though I don’t own Victrix romans I might consider them for Socii. The problem I find is that they are a bit chunky especially the pila and hasti, and shields a bit small. Agema is superior there, and I cut off the hasti of their triarii characters and replaced them with their plastic ones.
hello, on some soldiers in chain mail (principles, triarii) they have been seen under the neck on the chest, such rectangular objects that are attached to belts over the head, do you know what this is?
@@greatsouthernancientminiat8812 I'm surprised the victrix ones don't seem to have a sword option for everyone. They were certainly using them during the Punic Wars.
Nice work as always. As someone who has a large "stash" of metal (Crusader miniatures) Republican Romans to paint and base, I find both these sets incredibly frustrating. For some reason companies feel compelled to include large numbers of Velites and command figures - neither of which I need or want. To be fair I think Agema sell sprues of the "line" troops. Can I ask if you use the sword (gladius) arm, do you have to cut the hilt from the scabbard on the figure? Cheers.
Agema have all separate scabbards. Some empty scabbards on the Velites sprue but sword in scabbard on main sprue. Easy to cut sword handle off. Victrix : have the sword and scabbard already attached to the figure so more tricky to cut off.
Agema... i wasn't aware of that company. Thanks now i know there are figures that can be mixed with victrix. However a google search already showed it might not methat convenient in the EU to get them
@@greatsouthernancientminiat8812 not so sure about that. You are both in the commonwealth and there are no customs because of that, right? I can of course order from the UK but since the UK left the EU and the union in its infinite wisdom didn't want a free trade agreement the customs are a pain. I ordered from ttcombat and for over the shipment got held up for nearly a month after arriving in the EU and then I had to pay an absurd amount... I should have objected however I was too lazy and just begrudgingly paid and was happy to finally get my models... I decided not to order any more directly from the UK if the company I prefer from does not handle customs.
Nice review of the Egema box. Brilliant looking stands! Loved the one with the kneeling front with the lads just taking a break in the back. It will be interesting to see if Warlord does new Carthaginians and Republican Romans when they re-do Hail Caesar. What game are these based for? The stand bases are also thick.
Hopefully Agema go back to their historics, they're very good.
TOp notch ROmans...and bases, great painting and interesting poses...👍👍

I think you're referring to the simple plate metal armour. Sometimes referred to as cardio-thorax.
I am with you...Agema for the active poses. Thanks for the great review mate!
Thanks mate another great video and good to see aussies doing miniature videos
I have done similar with my carthaginians but also added warlord metal and plastic figures into the mix
PS if you're interested in buying any of my minis please get in touch.. I'm running out of shelf space :)
Strange that Victrix’s republican romans are so much cheaper than their imperial romans
Bigger sets so cheaper
Per unit. Slightly simpler models. But yeah their pricing is quite variable. Quantity always high.

Seems all about pack size. Cheaper in bulk packs of ~ 60.

Yeah victrix typically has too many command sprues

Which set do you prefer?
Both great. Ideally you get both for the extra variety but if I could only have 1 I'd go for Agema.
@@greatsouthernancientminiat8812 I also prefer Agema though I do mix and match heads and bodies.

Agema are made in UK. It's got to be easier and cheaper to get them in the EU than in Australia !

Thx. Not based for any games. Just love miniatures :)
