Fantastic review thay look brilliant great pant work 🤠🤠😍😍👍👍
Thanks very much !
Lovely Romans, they look superb!
@@philRminiatures cheers Phil
Those Hoplites look amazing . Well painted .
@@Davy.J.Y Thanks. They're top minis
I love all of these ancient miniatures , great video . I am enjoying your content .
@Davy.J.Y Thanks Davy. They (ancient miniatures) are quite addictive!
Interesting review, do you think there are enough pila to equip the velites as unarmoured Hastati?
Great review. I really enjoyed doing this kit up myself.
@@jvcpaints didn't find it monotonous after a while ??
Would you recommend these 3d prints over other prints that you have covered ?
@markwarne-d1y hmm. Depends on era. The nicest were the Medbury Medievals. But I prefer ancients. In ancients I probably favour Blitzkrieg 1st. Then Red Copper then these resized 3D Breeds.
They look dynamic, motivated and superb, great job...and splendid banner!
@@philRminiatures cheers Phil.
Didn't see the mystery get solved for the random stick on the unarmored sprue. Couldn't see it closely, but It's probably in the left hand. That will assemble for a 2 hand axe with another one of the right hand axe arms. The compatible arms should be the same number with a letter a or b on them. They've got the same setup in some other kits.
These look excellent! What size base do you have the first 6 on, there? That Rus conversion is especially effective!
@@Dan-ds8sf 80x50mm.
Love the conversion work on the Villanova Etruscans! If the Velites in the Rep. Roman set had some more Wolfskin options for heads, I don't think I'd mind the numbers of them, but they're a quarter of the set which is a bit much.
yep. Should have been sold seperately IMHO
Victrix are better for pose variety, however no real stand alone commands. Warlord metals are quite good and I used a lot of the command packs and archers, the leaders are giants though compared to the plastic range. I used crusader and foundry also in my units, with a bit of head sapping even using Victrix Viking heads (the bear is great) I have painted around 400 warlord and about 60 Victrix. I plan to sell all of the warlord figs in the future, including the metals. The warlord suffer from bad poses for the cavalry. Again I used foundry and crusader miniatures. Not thought of the eureka figs, but have a few old glory with head swaps and purchased a lot of First Corps shields too.
Cool. Foundry look great but have a very unique style. Not sure they'd go so well w other manufacturers. Since doing that video I've got The Victrix Rus and Late Roman Unarmoured that double as Gothic. They add a lot of more interesting Germanic options. I must say , I do like the small number of Eureka figures the most of my "germanic " collection.
Great video, thanks for sharing
glad it's useful
Great painting, it seems that the riders are over scaled rather than the horses. Do you know how they compare to Aventine miniatures?
i've put up some more photos on LA that compare w Aventine. Victrix horses a tad taller, moderately wider but the riders are the main thing that Victrix is a bit oversized in. leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=147411.msg1887228#msg1887228
Agree 100% about there being to many Velites in the Victrix Roman Infantry packs discussed. My collection is all metal, but I had been tempted by the Victrix figures until I realised the sheer number of Velites. Informative upload as always, much appreciated.
Glad it's useful :)
Will you do them as an ally of Carthage from Capua?
@solovei8235 yes. Done some already as such. I will do more Campanians.
Hey FYI, whatever camera you're using to film isn't filming in the correct aspect ratio. Your video have massive black borders around them. Great work though love the vids.
Hmm. On my mobile phone and computer there's no big black edges .....
RUclips on Web browser changes the shape of the player to fit the video I believe. On mobile for me the image is smaller than most. What resolution do you record or render in?
The drum is called a duff.
@@ernestorodriguez3637 right. Thanks.
Nice review and good job on the first few! I noticed the same thing that certain riders were for certain horses unlike the Greek light cavalry.
Excellent job as always! What can you say about scale? I heard these are much too large for 28mm. How do they compare to other brands or for example the Victrix Gauls? Wish V&V would make rep Roman equites.
Thanks for comments . I've put some photos on Lead Adventures. leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=147411.0
Great paint job!
@@thewarchesttownsend7595 thanks
how do you store your entire collection and how many 28mm soldiers are there?
@solovei8235 good questions ! Lots of bookshelves. Must be thousands !!
I do sell off some on Ebay
They all look great! Loved all the little extras you’ve done with the figures. I’d have to say number 4 is the one I like the most.
Painting video! Painting Video!! PAINTING VIDEO!!!
@@ernestorodriguez3637 are you requesting I do one ?
The usual excellence of design is here. However, they are trying to cover all arab armies from the Muslim conquest to the Crusades. I'd like to see the sub-Saharan African troops who made up much of the infantry of the Fatimid Egyptian armies of the 11th /12th centuries. There are very few such minis available at the moment.
@@hobhood7118 That would be cool.
A great review, ive got my pack coming Saturday

Спасибо большое, thanks for your
@@solovei8235 you're welcome!
A nice review and another nice kit from Victrix. With only one bare-chested figure in the kit they could look a bit repetitive, even with head and weapon variations, but mixing in a handful of Gallic Naked Fanactics with a little bit of Milliput or Green Stuff applied to cover their modesty would provide a little bit of variety in poses.
You gotta rename this video man! Lots of people will be looking for this review and won’t be able to find it.
@@Dan-ds8sf Thanks. I'll fix that. Computer error to blame :)
Do all victrix minis need a gluing?
@@scipi_o yes!
“Unpretentious” is an excellent description of this set. I’m glad they released these separately, as I don’t think they originally intended to but it’s a nice way to get access to the figures without needing to pick up the box of unarmoured hoplites.
@Dan-ds8sf yeah. Would be cool if they did similar small sets ie Roman Command or Libyan Skirmishers.
Love Victrix new figure casts, Naps look great as well.
Ordered this set yesterday on the Victrix website with the Black Friday sale. Looking forward to getting my hands on them. Love the extras you've put on them with the greenstuff and shields.
@@jvcpaints yeah. It's a nice simple kit that lends itself to kitbashing and modifying.
Splendid archers, congrats!
Thanks again :)
Nice straight forward review as usual. The tip[ about filing a shallow groove for the swords is much appreciated, always a pain getting the swords to stay on properly.
yeah. Not sure why I didn't think of it years ago ! Anyhow better late thsan never.
are these carthage or persian?
Successor ie Seleucid / Antigonid etc

Thanks very much !
They look fierce and superb, wonderful work my friend!
Thanks Phil !
Great work on these guys. I like 6 the most. I've yet to really kitbash any ancients, but this video is motivating. Looking forward to 9 and 10!
Thanks.
Beautiful stuff, I’ve only ever dealt with their Dark Age stuff but this looks equally fantastic.
@Dan-ds8sf yep. I'm working on a Velite and a Triarii currently. Loving them both.
How do they compare size wise to other companies?
@rangerminiaturesandgaming3647 perfect w Victrix, Agema, Aventine... if you check back at some of my prior VnV videos I've done some side by side comparisons.
They are very nice figures and very nicely painted. Congratulations
@alejandrotabilo1988 thanks very much.
very cool miniatures, I love V&V models 😉
@@TheGazerockeur yep. The best plastic/resin available
Awesome dudes! what manufacturer?
lots of different ones. Victrix, Relic, Blitzkrieg, 3D Breed, Thistle and Rose ....
Interesting basing techniques. I use the tufts to hide mistakes too. lol. The figures look amazing! Heaps of character. Well done.
Superb paint job!
My package arrived the other day from Footsore miniatures
what did you get ? How do you like them ?
@ I bought the box of romans along with a box on Carthaginians. I have tried Victrix and Aventine but I prefer Agema minis. I have painted their Etruscan’s and to be honest I was not impressed with the castings
@markwarne-d1y yeah. I know what you mean w Agema Etruscans.
