- Not too long ago, UK-based Dennis Eagle opened a factory in South Carolina, with their sole purpose of entering the solid waste scene in the United States. Various cities have already put demo units into service, but here in Texas, New Braunfels is one of the first to buy one, and more are on the way. The biggest plus to these is driver’s visibility for safety, not to mention comfort on the interior, even though it looks like a tram on wheels haha. This one is seen collecting trash close to 3pm, but driver says he usually doesn’t finish until 5 regularly. It’s really not my favorite chassis personally, but I am curious to see how well Dennis will do in the market over the coming years! Hope you guys enjoy this super distinctive truck!
Also decided to bring some intro tunes back :)
Big thanks to the cool driver for letting us follow around for a while! Hope you can find this video!

Those steel bud rims are so outta place imo. Interesting to see places buying more of these tour buses. Nice video!
Agreed, and thank you!
lol it looks just like an Ecosonic Sd!! Keep up the good work
@@wasteconnectionsfan1215 Thank you! Yes it does look similar
Best looking foreign cab that’s entered the USA market in a while. Love that it’s matched with my favorite modern ASL body. Looks like this is one amazing machine driver wise.
It's not good
We’ll see what the other municipalities have to say haha
Coolant leaks, brake pads on the disc system wear out fast, brake and abs light constantly on, found engine mounts missing hardware, windshield washer fluid reservoir is always broken, cab is like green house with a blower motor and resistor that burn out and only work on a few speeds, harness for the ignition switch comes loose unless you use zip ties to maintain a connection Bulkhead connector comes loose when you cab it over for maintenance . Just a few of the things that I have run into.
Great video, I enjoy watching this truck collecting trash and I like the cab design
Thank you
This intro song at beginning 0:00 reminds me Bruno mars 24K Magic
Excellent video dude I like this truck. I really enjoyed this video and new way sidewinders are some of my favorite types of garbage trucks. I like all of the lid flips that this driver did too.
Thanks, lid flips were definitely enjoyable!
He's def paid by the hour
Wow… looks a very funky truck, more of a bus type truck haha… glad you got footage of this unit!
Yessir, and thanks!
Looks like pretty crummy turn radius! Hope it has great AC, I can imagine it would get really hot with all the glass!
Totally agree, and in the heat of august it’ll turn into an oven guaranteed lol
We are replacing our International fleet with these Dennis Eagles :(
We call them the "fishbowls". You feel so exposed and it gets really hot in the cab due to the amount of sunlight that's pouring in. Like a sunroom.
Oh and the nice added feature of your crotch being at eye level and exposed. How the hell am I going to scratch my nuts?
Haha I guess you could scratch but not make it obvious. This was filmed during the winter so I can only imagine how hot it gets right now. How many Dennis trucks does the city have?
Quite an eventful filming experience
Indeed, and won’t be going back there anytime soon!
4 or 5 day work weeks?
Four, Monday-Thursday
Nice vid tho
Thank you
Its very weird how they are in the us. In my opinion it looks kind of ugly on our trucks in the u.s. Imagine this on a zr...
Quite possibly the ugliest chassis to ever exist and then they stuck a new way on top…Great work, did the driver say how he liked it?
Thanks! Driver said he likes it but it’s a huge difference compared to the ACXs. A lot of other drivers tested out this truck by now I believe
Not a big fan of this, the foreign cab paired with America's sidewinder body doesn't sit right. Makes for, well, a whack looking truck. Not sure if there's a massive difference but I feel like Dennis Eagle's design is more practical-looking then the Econic. Nice video
Thank you! They’re both around the same size but if I had to choose, I’d say dennis as well only because the windows aren’t all panoramic-looking like the econic’s is.
I’m still and never will be a fan of these RV trucks… They just look weird, have a lot of room than the needed room and they look really hideous to drive. Both this and the Freightliner Econic are literally RV’s.. I would find them suitable for Rear Loader and not side loaders but oh well.
Yeah although some cabs like the 520 don’t have enough space, I think Dennis took adding more space to a whole new level
