- After 2 years of planning, we finally made it to the Maldives! Our preparation for this experience made it extra special as we were able to enjoy the St. Regis Maldives with our Titanium membership giving us an Upgrade to an Overwater Villa Suite as well as complimentary breakfast.
We booked 5 nights at The St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort and it was a magical experience for us. The top notch service and the amazing food made the stay quite memorable. We were fortunate enough to experience the Whale Bar (tapas bar with sabering ritual), Alba (International Restaurant), Orientale (Asian Restaurant), In room dining and so much more.
There was always something to do on the island and since it was a St Regis, you were assigned a butler who was there to make your experience that much more special.
We had to cut out much of our trip as we wanted to keep this video short, but there was just always so much to do. The bikes to get you around was so fun and the biggest highlight for us was enjoying our Iridium Spa experience. Massage in the Maldives! Nothing gets better than that.
Normally a room in the Maldives would cost around 2,000 USD per night, but we spent using points. For more info, check out our blog at exploreaswego....

We started our trip back in April 2, 2019 from New York City. We quit our 9-6 jobs, sold all of our belongings, and began traveling full time. We left our jobs because we were unable to be with family and enjoy life. Work was taking up too much time and something had to change. We saved up for 2 years and began traveling as soon as we found a deal that would take us around the world for just $285.00. We started this #travelvlog to share our adventures with friends and family. At the one year mark, we realized that we had only scratched the surface and there was still so much to see. We are so fortunate to be doing this every day. We hope you enjoy our content and will subscribe to our adventures.

The Maldives is on our bucket list! I can imagine it takes a while to save and plan for! I'm glad you guys really jumped on it and had such an amazing experience there before the pandemic. I can't believe how stunning your room was! I mean it was like the most amazing villa ever. The closet is the size of my bedroom 😂😂 I know its cliché but I want to get that IG photo where you take the bedroom blankets out on the net and sleep out there! haha. All of the food and champagne makes it feel that much more luxurious. I got so jealous when you guys were talking about your massage! I need some TLC now 😩 wonderful video!

We had a few videos that all of a sudden got so many random views, but we had no idea where they were coming from. They ended up subscribing too which we were so grateful for. After looking at the analytics they were from all over the world. We never advertised besides sharing in Facebook groups, twitter, Instagram and other socials.

We've seen those resorts in so many magazines. Very cool that you guys made it there and paying it with points. It looks like the ultimate escape. Champagne savoring ritual sounds perfect. $38 for pizza?! Yikes! You guys did it right though with the spa days. We would just take it easy over there. We would totally fall asleep with the massage. Everything about this place is spectacular. Lovely dinner too.

OMG. Gives me chill when you open up that amazing room and view. And that buffet is definitely a killer.
BUT! I have to point out that... your driver to the spa 15:56 had amazing back-up skill. LOL!
That wasn't our driver, that was our BUTLER! When you are with a St. Regis property, you are assigned one so that they take care of you during your stay! It was truly exciting for us and we hope to have another experience like that soon!

We always excited with the hotels you guys stay in, this St.Regis is so awesome, is that bike provided for each room? Ocean view and the buffet! It's definitely our dream vacation too guys!

You guys are living your best lives!! The St Regis is always a luxurious stay, and the Maldives -- you can't ask for more than that. Your guys' stay looked incredible too: the views, food, massages, amenities, and everything looked so luxurious. So jealous with how nice everything looked, and also congrats on blowing past 1K and almost hitting 2K too!! Keep up the great stuff :)

My favorite video yet guys! How nice of the hotel to provide the coconut oil. Can I ask how much I should save up of I wabted to do a trip to Maldives?
To be honest, we booked the resort stay on points, but in order to get the overwater villas, it costs about 2K per night. When you do sea plane transfer, it costs about 700 USD RT. It really depends on which resort you book because there are some cheap ones and some really expensive ones. It's really up to you what kind of experience that you want :) I know there are more local areas where you can have an enjoyable time for about 2K per person.

If you are status with Marriott, meaning you stay with the brand a lot and you have Titanium or Platinum status, the breakfast is part of the experience. If you are not, then you would have to purchase and since it is not all inclusive, all food is a la carte so you can order whatever you want. We are about to post a video to share hacks and tips on how and what to do for the dining situation here. Hope you will subscribe and tune in!

So iam back again continuing to watch the video.. The cycle tour is looks much fun..loved the way you orchestrated the music while riding it.. That has kind of become synonymous to all Maldivian ocean villas. The sunset looks awsome.. The chicken Tikka is kind of a signature dish of Indian subcontinent. Also I see you guys having Indian speciality dish of Dosa. Did you enjoy it? Overall it's a mind blowing spread of food options there. Health details during the massage sounds interesting. Wow. A bottle of coconut oil in exchange of a feedback isn't bad 😜 loved those evening views.. Totally mesmerizing 👌💞
We LOVED the Dosa! There is so many amazing things about the Maldives having a huge Indian influence. We really loved the complimentary breakfast because it was super tasty too! Amazing resort & great suite! I have at least 10 resorts on the Maldives I'd like to visit next time but it's really hard to decide which one! Maldives are outstanding and it's hard to find something that comes close when you want to escape and relax on a remote luxury hideaway... Great VLOG, guys! 👍

The happiness you both exuded throughout this video was contagious. It was so wonderful to see your dream come true. 4 upgrades is insanely cool and the sunsets were amazing. It looked like there was a lot to do there. How long would you recommend staying?
We stayed 5 days and it was PERFECT! There is something to do everyday and we just wish we had more time! HAHA. You can also do boating activities, snorkeling and excursions which we didn't do so maybe a week at most. THEN you check out another island. HAHA.
Oh yeah, you guys definitely got what I was mentioning on Facebook where you capture the audience's attention in the beginning the with the montage/drone shots

I said I would be back with questions...
Firstly I am going to be 'trapped' in to staying for 5 nights due to the free night policy but I fear this might be too long. After the initial wow factor, did you guys start to get bored at all? Also, did the price of the food detract from the enjoyment of staying at all? Did you feel like you had to budget each day or were you seeing food that looked amazing but could just not justify the price of it? Finally was there any hard selling? Did you feel like you had to spend money or were you left alone?

Thank you so much for yuor very thorough comment! We honestly prepared ourselves for spending money while we were there. Luckily we were able to try something different every night. We we wanted something special, their kitchen would make it.
There was never any hard selling from any of the staff. We were already spending so much money for the rooms. If you want to make it extra special, there are so many ways to spend the money and go for that really AWESOME PRICELESS experience.

Yes, we were there during pre-covid. So breakfast at Alba was a full buffet, and also have a side of ala carte items that can be made to order upon request. They also had a full cocktail bar, so free flow of champagne for breakfast was definitely a highlight! Now because of the pandemic, the resort has limited the breakfast to ala carte, we'll update when they are more changes.
As for the room rate, we booked on points, so that rate doesn't include breakfast. But Platinum and above elites can choose breakfast as the platinum amenity, so you can get comp breakfast for 2 per day. That's what we did.

This is sooo amazing! What a dream! It must’ve been an amazing feeling being there after such a long period of planning. I don’t even know where to start here... everything was just so amazing and perfect! Your accommodation could not have been any better, love how it was like a maze, everything connected. The bath! The pool! The view from the bedroom! All the food 🤤 the amazing spa day 😍 cycling on the pathways 🤩 loved everything about this video! You guys are awesome!
It was a dream. The 5 days squeezed into one video was what we thought the best way to put together. SO much happened though. We love sharing our adventures with you guys and hopefully we can all go on some sort of excursion in the future. Best of all the only thing we paid was for lunch and dinner and sea plane! WAHOO! How did they let you fly a drone? I’m thinking about bringing my DJI Mavic but do I need to sneak?
Drones are prohibited on the island, I would use your own discretion flying. They are not strict on checking luggage and such and we have seen many people flying. The biggest item to consider is the privacy of other guests on the island.

OMG 4 UPGRADES WITHOUT PAYING ANYTHING?! ALL WITH POINTS?! THAT IS INSANE! The deck, the iconic net, the beautiful pool, and the Indian ocean view MY GOD THIS IS PARADISE TAT DAMM that TV is huge though XD And that bathroom is literally bigger than my bedroom XD You guys deserve every part of this experience in St Regis Maldives. 5 nights on points? how did you accrue so many?
We paid 240k for 5 nights, 60k/night (But we had 5th night free on points)..
That was also the rate during the post merger, now it cost 85k/night.
We both have been saving up points 2 years before we started traveling, earned through credit card sign up bonus, quarterly promotions.
I always see these about water places advertised and could never plan on affording them. What a great place to stay. I don't know what looks the best....pizza, bikes, hammock, food........?????🐸
HAHA! There was so much to love about the Maldives and we could never plan on affording it too which is why we used points and saved up until we could do it! Overall it took us 2 years and totally worth it!
How many total points did cost for 5 nighths?
We spent 60k per night, with the 5th night free on points, we only spent 240k for 5 nights. This was a big promotion by Marriott 2 years ago.
Marriott has now adjusted the points category since, now a regular night cost 85k/night. Off peak - 70k/night, Peak - 100k/night. You still get a night free on points for a 5 nights points stay, but will only get the points free on the cheapest night during your stay.
How long have you stayed there ?
Thanks for your comment! We stayed there for 6 days and 5 nights and it was the perfect amount of time. We think next time we might do 7 days or 10 days :). Are you planning to visit the Maldives soon?
How much was the spa?
The package we did was the 50 minutes Ikhlaastheri Massage. It cost $125 USD per person, but as Titanium elites, they gave us complimentary 1 hour free usage of the jet pool prior to our massage.

I know we are also guilty as our main purpose was to film it this one time. We were there for 5 nights so we ended up just enjoying the other 4 times. It is so special and as you said it should be monitored more so more people can enjoy. It's hard because everyone wants it for their memories. Have you stayed here before?
