Being as a Keralaite even I can't give a literal meaning of *Churuli* its not often used in Malayalam. The base word is Churul mean loop or spiral. *Churuli is almost same meaning as Spiral* .

Anyway this movie contains lot of abusive words and scenes it's gonna shake the senseless censor board of india for sure

In Japanese folk lore also snake indicates immortartality/long life(for eg: orochimaru in Naruto).. Spirals could be seen throughout and end credit title churuli has clock work design. At some point characters also says.".it seems like we have been here forever".. even the anecdote about brahmin has ' wandering forever' theme in it.. it's definitely messing with time/eternity.I guess we will know it when we see it..😁

Does anyone feel it's somehow related to the old Vikram and Betal(Vethalam) stories that were told. There the king tries to catch Betal 24 times and each time the Betal escapes. Maybe that's why it's called Churuli (Can Mean: Again and Again). 24 times can also be related 24 hours. The lady in the beginning is telling a story adn it somehow relates to a Betal and King Vikram
Please watch movie Kappela, its awesome! Its streaming in Netflix. Another great performance from Anna Ban and Sreenath Bhasi. Its intriguing so you will love it for sure :). Worth going for a review for this one.

The way I interpreted, the narrator is talking of a folklore where a hindu Kerala brahmin priest was made to believe he was travelling in right direction but made to travel around in loops because his guide was the being he wanted to exorcise. The image shows a group of people like the priest looking for someone in a forest which they don't know and thus getting sucked into the swirl..
Churuli means spiral or whirling - example “Churuli kaat” means twister. Churuli in respect to water means whirlpool. its a rare and complicated word that could have many contextual conotations - i feel in this case it seems getting into a whirl of “time” or “mind” or “beliefs” to the extent its like being in a trap intentional or not

Churuli means "something that is looping" looks like the movie talks about time loops, lots of signs in the trailor suggests that.. looks like the charectors are trapped in this time loop inside this forest, because one of the charector is saying "i feel like I've been here for ages"..

In Indian films there are U, U/A and A ratings. U rated means it is fit for all the people. U/A is much like PG-13. A rated is similar to R rated films. But here even in A rated films censorship comes. Those F words will be beeped😅
Churuli is not a place name and it means rolled up. I think the creature that rolled up like a ball that the Brahmin take to the basket ; literally the first scene of the trailer

'ennampachee' means pangolin a creature which spirals up when threatened.....this Bhramin (hindu priest) took a pangolin which spiraled up , thinking it was a ball and put in his basket and carried it . but it was (Madan ) a evil god or spirit . ....this evil spirit in form of pangolin now sitting in the basket mislead this priest in to deep forest and is still misleading him in to deeper forest ....poor priest don't recognize that it is "madan '.in the basket which he is carrying ......... can gather this much from this trailer ..

Churuli is a village in idukki district of Kerala. It could also probably mean a “coil” , but not a word that’s used commonly.
Usually Prasanth Pillai does music for all LJP film , but for this film his assistant Sreerag saji did the score ,and it was his first film.

I’ve seen Amen and it’s not my favorite of LJP’s films to be honest. I think the humor didn’t completely translate well.
