Just bought a carb kit and followed this great tutorial exactly and the chainsaw (same model as in the clip) started first pull and idled fine. Previously it would not run for more than four seconds at a time. Great clear demonstration of how to remove, strip and rebuild the carb. Thanks.
Thank you Hank! Your video helped me rebuild my first carburetor - my 1992 Husqvarna 235R brush cutter. My 1992 Husqvarna 55 chainsaw is still functioning nearly normal but the 235R had slowly declined to the point where it was nearly impossible to start and/or keep running, so I put this job off to the very end. I followed your examples and managed to not lose any parts. My "wagon wheel" gasket was very stiff, and the fuel screen slightly plugged. I reassembled it, five pulls required to aspirate fuel through ~10 cm of new line, and I got a pop on choke. Choke off, one more pull and she's running great! Next I'm going to do the same job on the 55 saw and later my "new" 2015 130 blower! Subscribed to your channel!
This video really helped with my 5-year-old chainsaw that I've used very little, so was pretty gummed up from sitting around with bad gas. It's WAY better done than most instructional videos. No nonsense, really good, clear filming, with just enough humor.
My Husqvarna chain saw 340 is over 20 years old & had been sitting for 15 years last week I got it going just by giving it a clean & cut down four 12-meter palm trees, It has only been used once before.
i used same saw as this probably 3 times then the fuel lines just broke in half and i let it sit for almost 10 years until this morning. just put the last back screw in, time to go get some ethanol FREE gas!
Another great video Hank. I only use TRU-FUEL gas in my engines...yes expensive but certainly worth it. I've run my Echo cs-400 on it for the past 5 years with zero issues. Keep 'em coming sir, thank you
Sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Marcel Benicio I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Instead of replacing the yellow and clear lines just buy a fuel line kit for a 450 and pop out the black o-ring and the black line will fit into its place. And for the return just take out line and drill a hole smaller then the black return line large end and trim the small size to fit and then use the remaining part to go between the carb and bulb
When you say "it only goes on one way", do you mean "there is only one correct way even though you can put it on wrong"... or do you mean "it will not go on unless it is positioned correctly"? Next, installing the throttle linkage on the trigger assembly was skipped over, even though you said it was "the most difficult part". If you had any tricks to hooking up that linkage, I would have loved to have seen them. (I'm getting ready to rebuild the carb on my own Husqvarna 240). Thanks! You helped a great deal!!
Thank you for such a great video. How do you know if the carburetor needs to be replaced or if you can just replace the gasket kit? I have one just like this that was given to me. I want to fix it. Upon inspecting I noticed that when i press on the bulb it does not get gas in it. I think the previous owner left gas in at the end of a season. The gas looks cleaned and oil looks good. I am thinking the fuel line is bad since when you press on the bulb no gas comes up. The bulb is very cloudy and is hard to see through. If i replace just the fuel line can i buy the bulb?
Gr8 vid, and rebuild there. I have problems with putting that needle back in with that spring. My Fingers are too big Any 2 cycle of mine will use non-ethanol fuel mixed with synthetic 2 cycle oil. Or premixed Or I go electric/battery
la mienne démarre très bien pour un plein réservoir et au 2 ième, elle cale en coupant, je dois la laisser se pomper de l'essence au ralenti pour pouvoir continuer è couper la branche pour 4 ou 5 secondes puis faut recommencer . . .
i was hoping to see where all the screws fit in on rebuilding because i changed my piston for the first but i will eventually know where all things go...
My neighbor just asked me to look at his husky 240 which runs fine till its warm and then dies until its cool agai. Saw is a few years old with minimal use. I am not farmiliar with the newer smaller huskies... any idea what the problem might be?
yup you sure can, just make sure you get the right chain for the bar and keep in mind that the saw is pushing a longer chain through more wood so don't be as aggressive with your cutting.

" you will very easily mess up and piss yourself off" Yeah, that's me. But I'll try this anyway. Thanks for doing this video

How many turns out do you have the carb screws set to? Can't get mine to run unless it's like 2 1/2 out on Low screw
Thats normal, it will vary from machine to machine
@@hanksgarage_ seems excessive...

When I prime it vigorously I see bubbles in airlines. Is that normal?

as a kid i don't think we ever did anything but abuse them and they lasted a couple decades minimum, now they're so finicky.

Pick 1 up at dump need carburetor rebuild

Check the spark arrester and exhaust hole on cylinder for carbon build up
Wish I saw this before throwing my 240 across the yard 5 times after Stalling and failing to start full of fuel after cutting a tree half way
Can I put a20” bar on my 240?
yup you sure can, just make sure you get the right chain for the bar and keep in mind that the saw is pushing a longer chain through more wood so don't be as aggressive with your cutting.
Merci. ..
Bonne vidéo. .. 👍
Mine had nothing bad on it like new
Thanks
Nice video!!!
😂😂the air filter I pulled out of the 235 I'm working on had 3 massive holes in it 😂 it definitely was not savable 😂😂
Husqvarna : I've never come across a bigger piece of shit in all my life. So difficult to work on. Would never buy one of these
I prefer stihl or echo
