- In this video, I will show you how to replace a Husqvarna 240 Chainsaw Carburetor. The only reason we are replacing this carburetor on aHusqvarna 240 Chainsaw is because we have alreasy tried adjusting, cleaning, and rebuilding the carburetor. Husqvarna 240 Chainsaw Carburetor Replacement is an easy job to be honest. The customer decided it would be more cost efficient to buy an aftermarket carburetor, so we went ahead and installed one. Turns out that the aftermarket carburetor wasn't pre-tuned, thus making us go back and tune the carburetor on his saw when we were finished with our install. I hope you guys have a wonderful day. Here is an affiliated link to the carburetor we used in the video.

I have a 2017 240, from the first day I bought it I had carburetor problems. I wish we had a small engine repairman like you. The local guy here, his mom had to spoon feed him until he was 12. I'll have to change the carburetor if my old fingers lets me. Great video young man, subscribed and thumbs up !!!
Thank you :))
Was very useful your video. The problem in May case the problem was the small filter near the diaphragm in the carburettor, it was dirty. I cleaned it with gasoline and returned to recover my chainsaw. thank you!
Thank you brother also have replaced with an aftermarket Carbie - would love to see a Carb Tuning video.
Thanks for the tutorial -- your tips and clear video helped my do a carb swap on my own 240 which had stopped running. I also did the lines since my kit came with them.
Thorough explanations. Very good instructable. I enjoyed learning from you
And that’s why I HATE working on Husqvarna. You have to read half the saw apart just to remove the carb. That’s the 3rd time you have taken that apart. 1 to clean it 2 to rebuild it 3 to replace it. They’re a pain in the butt. Great video. I’m glad I don’t have to work on them anymore. I have guys do it for me lmao
Yeah they are a pain
Thanks for making this video, I found it very helpful when I switched out the carb on this chainsaw. I couldn't start the damn thing so I ordered an aftermarket carb that was very inexpensive. What I found when I changed out everything was a shock. The fuel lines inside the fuel tank had disintegrated, hence the reason it didn't start ( I bought the chainsaw new). When I went to change out the fuel lines that go into the fuel tank that's when things got interesting. Turns out they don't make the holes that go down into the fuel tank big enough to thread your new fuel lines into. I ended up having to find harder plastic material to act as a bypass between the fuel filter line and line to carb. What a joke. Having to re-engineer this chainsaw was not on my itinerary. I would like to have a "conversation" with the Husqvarna engineers who created this. I'll never by another Husqvarna, ANYTHING, never mind a chainsaw.
Yes! It was very informative. Just wondering how different the 235 Husqvarna is from the 240? Thanks again.
Great video, thanks for sharing your know-how!
Nice cold rev to the moon.
Excellent video. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
You totally covered up which fuel lines go into which valve
Yeah, what's the point of making a video when your big hands are blocking the view lol stupid huh
I have an HUSQVARN 236 CHAISAW and I have removed and cleaned the carburettor many but steel doesn't
start then I removed the H and the L screw and the L --the long one (?)-- the point is broken inside as there
is no point to the end and probably that is the reason why the primary is very hard to pump ---it was working before ---
Q....1) how to remove the little piece inside the L hole 2) is the L screw longer then the H screw ??
thank you
Good video,
but would always recommend to use original Zama (or equivalent) repair kits for the carp they run 20$ or less too.The OEM usually lasts forever.
I know this is an old video but I was wondering if there was any reason why the air filter box won't come off? I tried beating on it and pulling to the point of damn near breaking. It feels like there's another fastener of some sort near the bottom right stud. Is it really just a case of being seized on there somehow? Are all 240 x-torq the same despite year?
Great video was looking forward to this video for awhile!
Thank you for watching!
my 240 started and then quit and hasnt started again , so i replaced the sparkplug air filter and gas filter hoping that might fix it but no chance,, so you think i need a carb. or try something else.
A very good video n explaination, tq.
Just a question, the 2 studs with 8mm nut (hold the carb), is it normally loose...? Yeah, after i've taken out the carb.
Tqvm
They should have a small amount of play to them

2- 10mm nuts and a long T20 screw holds the box in place.
Excellent... I'm ready lol...
Great video Phil
Thank you
Noticed you held down the trigger when starting, I've got to do the same on mine. Is that just a Husqvarna thing or does that carb need to be adjusted?
I did have to make adjustments on the carb to start it. Carb wasn't OEM
I'm in the the middle of a complete rebuild on a Husqvarna 445 now
Thats awesome good luck brother 👍🔧
Awesome video, thanks
Thank you
Fill thanks for a great video!
Thank you for watching!
I've listened to the podcast!
How could a carb be pre tuned. No two saws have the same settings
U had me till the very end when u had to hold that trigger to crank it :/ always crank by choke an let her idle for 1 min b4 slamming that trigger... nice replacement tho!
I would replace the fuel lines once you're they're in another thing you need to let the chainsaw warm up
Tool for low and high?
Fills fun stuff
I see on the new carburator is written zamma and the aftermarket had nothing write.
Very good
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Câte ture trebuie la H și Câte la L carburator husqvarna 240
Simply
Be nice too see which fuel line goes where??? This like watch n Martha Stewart do mechanic s
Sorry my hand was in the way. Will do better next time
What can possibly be wrong with the original carburettor like that?
Honestly!
Are those Zama carbs? And then an aftermarket for a Chinese Zama?
To me it seems always better to fix the original one.
This was a while ago. I forgot what was wrong with it.

Tip: Check out this guy. He obviously knows how to fix these Zama stratifier carbs. There is a hidden jet under the throttle shaft!
Might be good to know.
