Well done
When you moved the cristals like that to the new setup yes the big water change killed them. Assuming you didn’t take them, bag them and re drip them until TDS matched. Shrimp and big water change = death
Lol we all impatient bro...dont stress🤣🤣we won't give u a hard time
kuhli loaches will destroy your snail population so if you like you ram horns snails dontput them together
You can also use some pieces of cuttlebone to give them some calcium
I use it for mij golden black tiger, blue tiger and green jade shrimp tanks
And in a few days I'm going to have some spiderman shrimp
Me forgetting your steering wheel is on the other side: "Why is he putting the bag there? Are the fish driving?!"
🤣😂👌
When he said 24 degrees damn those shrimp like cold water.
When i visited Barbados i wasn't aware they drive on the opposite side from North America and I nearly killed myself when I encountered a roundabout.

I love MD he’s great Am struggling with depression and ptsd and I’ve been in the hobby for 5 years now and he’s now inspired me to set up another 5 tanks and building my own tank
Thanks MD for always being here for inspiration and to take my mind of things keep up the good work
Love this - I really do hope he appreciates these kinda comments.
@@passenger3 thanks man. It would really mean a lot for him to respond but I understand it would be hard for him too

Definitely do Kuhli Loaches! Fantastic Fish!
Hard work appreciated,👍👍👍 From Nepal
Iam also from nepal
Shrimp are excellent escape artists. Take care. Especially Amanos. They are excellent climbers: straight up heater cables or filter airlines... and can jump quite far. I had one climb ontop of floating plants and leap up and out... and one pinged out of a net... never made it to the tank rim... but it is surprising the range they manage...
I loved our kuhli loaches. So fun to watch!
You deffo got to get some crabs 🦀 my son has got a 🦀 tank and he loves it deffo a cool little pet and something different sweet vid md 👌👌
My dad has a few emerald crabs(I think) in his saltwater tank and I love watching them
snail shells will bring up the hardness as well, you might want to buy calcium sticks for shrimp and dose them as needed
What kind of crabs are you talking about 😉😂😂😂🤮
More racking?! Lol you haven't finished this one yet, non stop MD, loving it
With shrimp you should only ever drip acclimate 🙈 unless it’s coming from water with the same TDS, PH and all parameters then temp acclimate is just not enough ever. 😫😫
Huh? Why shouldn't he drip acclimate?
@@jonathanfisher7138 read what she wrote again
@@iycekold I must have missed him saying he wasn't going to drip acclimate. I will also say I don't drip acclimate and have never lost a shrimp. Have a friend that has huge colonies breeding in a tub outside in NC and they winter over with temps getting down to 20s on occasion. Local breeder stocks are hardy
@@jonathanfisher7138 in the Video he talked about temp acclimating and then he was like „no I’ll drip them“ so he considered not dripping. And with ornamental shrimp you really need to if the parameters aren’t a match. So likely your breeder and you are both using the same water source. Ornamentals here and in general are fragile. Not dripping if the water isn’t a match = death
Im obsessed with your tanks... I’ve never seen your channel before and 5:30 fully pulled me in, it’s GORGEOUS!✨ they all are, very amazing job and choice
Green jade shrimp , 24k gold shrimp, orange rili shrimp, fire red shrimp
Hope you can move the clam to a bigger tank with better flow, they need a large tank, preferably with good flow, to be able to filter feed well or they starve
you should have your son scape a tank and pick what he wants for it.
What we've all been waiting for.
Waiting for it.!!
Love this guys Passion & Enthusiasm. Well done ; )
Shrimp tanks are awesome. Cant wait to see the other types u gt for the remaining tanks
I’ve been wanting to set up a shrimp tank for a few months now and MD has been putting these videos out the week I plan on getting them!
Hey MD, the clam needs a LOT more water volume than those 30 liters or whatever you offer, a small Corbicula javanicus already needs at least 10 liters, though a good rule of thumb is double that per clam. The big clam should go in at least 200 liters of water that has microparticles floating around, else it might starve. If you don't have anything floating around you won't get around feeding it with spirulina algae.
Great video mate 👍
Make sure to occasionally check the clam is alive! They often bury in substrate and can die and cause an ammonia spike
I love your shrimp tank rack so much! very nice work MD
cool!! next neocaridina shrimp, sulawesi shrimp..
Love all these tanks
khuli loaches are amazing bottom feeders that are nocturnal. They are some of the best fish i have ever owned I definitely suggest getting them
I'm shocked that he didn't know what a khuli loach was
IKR
Awesome pick up my friend can't wait to see your population grow God bless
Hello from the states! I recently found your channel and I love your content! Your videos are great and your tanks are stellar. I really dig the shrimp rack and want to do a similar one but for various fish too. Keep up the good work, I look forward to your next project, whatever that will be.
ps- You're very lucky with your water, its TDS and PH sounds like it's basically bottled water. I sure don't have that where I am.
For the Kuhli loaches, they are pretty much a nocturnal species who can be pretty shy unless put in a large group. They need friends :)
Use white chalk for calcium, the clam needs a stronger water current
Looks amazing great job
I have a crayfish and honestly they are absolutely amazing!!!!! They change colour as they moult aswell!!!!!
Hai sir.. im From Malaysia ✌️😉. Love your channel👍👍
You have beautiful tanks is an inspiration for me and thank you 👌
This video is awesome. So fun shopping.😃 I would buy the clams too..
just came in from school and finally I can watch an MD Fish tanks video. MD always love your content.
Those crystals look great against the dark substrate! They’re such busy bodies always picking at everything LOL 😆
Was waiting for this vid since u teased about the shrimp thing 🤩
I picked up some Blue dream shrimp recently and they've been a ton of fun to watch in my Fluval flex 9 gallon
Super canal, I like that you explain everything, so normal people allsaw can understand the meaning. And you allsaw do a lot of interresthing theams.
I am sorry if my english is poor, but I hope that you understand med!
Greatings from Denmark

Md you have to get some of the yellow shrimp they are gorgeous 😍 and a scittles tank i.e. all the colours in on tank it looks class Xx
Tried to stop watching fish stuff on RUclips and actually watch normal videos. Couldn’t resist the recommendations so here I am!
There are clams in some of the lakes here up north in the US. They don't look like that, but they are there!
Since your shrimp tanks aren't mature I recommend some Bacter AE for the babies! Just make sure you use waaay less than the instructions..
I use crushed eggshell to add calcium to my shrimp tanks or use cuttlefish bone you will see the shrimp feeding on it
I love your videos ❤️❤️
The mortar's the cup, and the pestle's the thing you use to grind with. ^_^ Anyway... Love this episode! Your videos inspired me to create my first planted tank (actually my first tank in many, many years) and it's doing beautifully-- tons of plants, one huge peach ramshorn snail named Trailmix, and a handful of gorgeous Platinum guppies! I have shoots of dwarf hairgrass popping up all over the place from the clumps I planted and my El Nino Fern is pupping babies from its leaftips, so I guess it's all going pretty well. But SHRIMP! Oh yeah... time to make a nice globe aquarium and put some shrimp in! Yours are beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration from across the pond, man; I really appreciate it!
clams would do better in higher flow
You can get two pairs of guppies for one of the small tanks and some pairs of those sticky fishes u always get so that they start breeding
thanks for the vedeo
Hi I think u should get more shrimps for the others so it looks cool
If you can find them, I forget their name, but they are a solid blue shrimp with orange eyes. They look AMAZING. 👍🏼
Another awesome video lovin the set-ups
If you like the clam, Asian Gold clams are very cool and would work on the Asian aquarium
Love the shrimp videos! You got me started on shrimp keeping and now I’m thinking of doing my own shrimp racking system. 😅
awesome looking tanks as always
I got some khuhli loaches the other day, they're soo awesome deffo get some, so interesting to watch (when they come out) and they go mad for algae waters 😉
Amazing video as always MD
The clam is so interesting and it looks really good in that tank. Will be fun to learn more about it and see how it fares in there.
MD!! first off, loaches are so fun, I definitely recommend! Also, those red claw crabs can be really aggressive, so you should look into fiddler crabs or vampire crabs as well. Keep up the great work!!!
Hey MD Fish Tanks, I would love a video on how you got into the hobby of aquascaping, I think that would be a brilliant addition to your already amazing collection of videos 😁🐟
We have the same water parameters and I can confirm, it’s great for plants! Ten years ago I lived in a place with liquid rock and everything was so hard! My plants had poor growth and so much algae. Now, everything just looks great.
Yes 👏👏👌🙌
Shrimp is my favorite!! Good choice on the cherries and Crystal reds. As far as the kuli loaches I had two that I forgot about cause I never since them. Found them almost two years ago when I moved. Was breaking down the tank.
thanks for the video
do you like water lettuce plant?
awesome vid as always , and how is Timmey doing ?
MD for calcium use a supplement called Calci-lux by Versele-Laga.
Its designed for birds and I've made a video on my channel on it. I use it mainly for birds but its soluble in water and I use it for my cleaner shrimp in my marine tank too when he moults
loved this video. :)
I live off rain water because I'm up on a small mountain in a 50 year old house so it was too expensive to get city water to it. My kh is 2 and my tds is 45, I have to add calcium for shrimp to b able to molt
It is really awesome content!!!! Keep it Up!! Excellent!!
OMG, I LOVE KULI LOACHES!!! They are so cute, but are really shy so don't come out much :(
I have kept Khuli loach for many years. This is what I observed. If you want to see them more often, they need to be in groups of at least 6. The tank needs to have a lot of plants, wood etc throughout as they will stay close to cover. Also dimmer lighting helps. Dither fish also help encourage them to come out. Tank mates should be the nano type.
your videos make my day 100000000000000X better
yo how sick his fast scapes already looks sick
Gosh, watching a clam is so exciting I can hardly contain myself! 🤣. It is pretty, though. Great setup with all the little cubes. I hope to steal the idea sometime soon. You keep inspiring me.
Beutiful man wow😊👍👍👍👍🦐🦐
Sorry MD, Amanos do need much bigger tanks! They like to swim very fast . Also you need lids on the Amano-tanks. They climb and jump out. Maybe they will pull out the „grass“ in the bowl.
also no point in drip acclimating them from one tank when you are gonna put them in 4 different ones xD
Oh that’s interesting thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I love your vids 😻
Excited about everything but also the clam should be dope, also hilarious that the shrimp just don’t care about being moved at all
Sooo Cool !
looks awesome
Exactly the same water parameters here in North Wales. Now I need to buy Cristal reds
I order all my fish online now days, youll be surprised how much care goes into getting the fish to u safe. However I've found that a lot of the fish delivered to u are still juveniles.
Which makes sense, juveniles adapt better to different parameters compared to adults. That's also why you only get juvenile shrimp when you go to a breeder. The chance of death on adults after putting them in your tank is much much higher.
get an IV tube for the drip way easier
You should try to breed the amanos, its not easy because they only survive in brackish water but ir would be super interesting! Love your videos man a hug from Portugal
khuli loach aka Danger Noodles they remind me of the black and yellow danger tape.. i cant be the only one
And yea, I dont think you need to crush the shells for the calcium. Just drop a few in each tank. My rilis have slowly and steadily chipped off a snail shell and it looks kool as if the shrimp are sculpting it to like a mesh look. :)
MD sir, banded loaches are cold water fish
Yess!!
Thoughts on adding 1-2 small shrimp to a 3 gal with plants, small nerite, and 1 inch long betta?
You pronounce the loaches as Koolie loaches. I know the spelling is confusing. They are very neat looking, but just be prepared that as soon as you put them in a tank they will disappear. Especially in a tank with alot of scaping done to it. They will bury in the sand to. Just get a group of them and you might see one occasionally. Oh, they will come out to eat. Mostly. Good luck.😊
1am here but never clicked so fast in my life! Been waiting for this video!
Egg 🥚 shells will add calcium when crushed up into a powder
You can cross breed blue tigers with crystal red and black. And make some really cool combinations.
Are you sure shrimp genetic work like that ?
@@pixazelz You actually can Crossbreed Tiger shrimp and Caridina shrimp. They are called TiBee or Taiwan Bee
If you add those kuhli loaches to the big Asian tank you'll probably never see them again :D
The store bagged the shrimp with nothing to grab onto. Stresses them out. Should always put a plant (cabomba, elodea, etc) or piece of plastic mesh in the bag with shrimp.
Please do blue shrimp next....💙
I love blue shrimp too, but I feel they will be lost on the black substrate
I dont think so some strains of blue are so bright yhat they just pop no matter what color substrate they're on
If I was a shrimp I would love to live in one of those tanks!
Hey new subscriber! You're the second aquarium channel ive subscribed to. I am absolutely inspired. I also follow Foo the Flowerhorn's channel because I think his no co2, no fets, no filter tanks are freaking awesome to watch progress. On his channel I see him sometimes feeding his shrimp boiled veggies like carrots and sweet pumpkin. Have you considered doing giving that sort of treat to your shrimp? Perhaps that will also encourage them to grow? The calcium snail shell idea is brilliant! I know Foo's channel is always showing his shrimps breeding so perhaps that might help with your shrimp breeding? I mean, you did just get them recently so im sure they need some time to feel comfortable and safe to breed. But. hey i thought id suggest it. I also have seen Foo do this giant almond leaf tea water thing and add it to his tanks. You reminded me of that when you boiled those giant tea leaves. Perhaps cooling the water that the leaves were boiled in and then mixing that water into your tanks would be beneficial as well? I'm not sure if Foo does it. because his tanks are filterless? I honestly know nothing about this stuff but I have been following Foo for a few months now so certain things seem similar to your tanks and his. I am super excited to go backwards on your channel and start from the beginning. I am totally enjoying your videos so far. Very calming and peaceful and inspiring.Oh one last thing lol sorry this is so long. I LOVE your plant tank terrarium thing i cant remember the name. It has the plants attached to the inside wall and it has the double glass doors so you can spritz the plants with water. I cant wait to see what it looks like when you start breeding and do that "sprinkler" rig. I think i want to try to make one at home but with no fish and just the plants. SO COOL!!! much love from New York City! P.S. your kids are beautiful and adorable. you and your lovely wife are truly blessed. Stay say and be well!
oops typo meant to say: stay safe and be well!
We need the lot. Dont play, just buy the shop!
Do you watch marks shrimp tanks and soo shrimp breeders? They helped me a lot with the care requirements of caridina shrimp. They are pretty easy if you set up properly, but they can be very hard without it. To me I think your tanks are not messy enough and they could have lots of leaf litter, shrimp mainly eat biofilm. With neocaridina there's an experimental symbiosis you could try with Marisa snails (shrimps eat the snail poo and support bigger colonies). Anyway good luck!
