Been recording with the 11 11 11 11 all day. My other 10 sims just sit and gather dust since I got it.
😂 This is a tricky one for me, but that's mostly because I have no self control and will end up tone questing for hours if I use it to record lol.
But mixing, I'm all about it!
I've had it since launch and man what a plugin!! It has inspired me to play every day and hopefully actually write some stuff here soon. Love your content Taylor. Always showing the full aspect of everything you demo. Keep it up man!

Your overview of the features and controls is really one of the best I’ve seen on this plug-in. I’ve had the amp sim for months and it’s an absolute monster. You really need to dive into this and tweak everything to “get it”. The presets get so many sounds but the fun comes from getting something going all on your own.
This sim is absolutely unreal for high gain tones, always my first pick. Great riffs dude!

Also a small note, though there's already a lot of comments, for the mod switch up on blue/purple is the regular amp and down on yellow is the mod

I feel like the mod switch is the perfect amount of change that would set hard panned guitars apart in a mix. Sounds like a great amp sim but I already have too many options available and not enough music to record.
Honestly it took me a while to get into this sim. For heaviness there is archtype gojira. For the mono/stereo, audio assault exists. It wasn't untill i tried it in a mix that i got it. Literally every preset sits pretty damned good in a multitude of mix situations. It's not just like "here are some presets,deal with it". They are actually really damned good in a mix. Great video.
Thanks dude! Yeah starting with presets is a MUST with this one. There is so much to tweak, that it just gives you a good foundation to build from.
I spent a month and a half working on the presets, thanks for the words & noticing. I will challenge you on gojira as well as audio assault. They may do similar things, but not the same experience, feel or sound.

Otto makes me wonder whats wrong with all ampsim companies, why are we promised "good tones out of the box" but never hear them on our machines! Very few deliver on such promise and glad II II II II does for heavy chuggy tones
Oh yeah, that’s gnarly! One of my all time favorites, but I noticed no one ever turns off the punch but me lol. I feel like it’s more natural without the punch on. I like what it does but I feel like it does too much of it for me, a mix knob would be righteous on the punch control.

Seems like a very interesting plugin. But for some reason the idea behind it reminds me of Positive Grid's Bias Amp plugin which you could design your amp to sound however you like.
I checked out the demo of this plug-in. It is in fact super versatile and very heavy. When I get back up and running in my studio space, this one is a contender for my rig. I perfer my tube rigs but the way technology has moved forward is quite impressive. Id argue to say there may not be enough difference between tube amps and plug-ins to matter which you use. I remember 15 years ago amp sims were a total joke. Not much more than a silly gimmick. But I saw this coming. It just came way sooner than I ever expected. I can't wait to see what we get in another 15 years.

Re: what's pushed mids: I don't know, I guess some people use that middle knob? If it doesn't look like a V on the eq I usually ain't riffin'. But gotta have some extra for the whiners ;)
There's nothing wrong with scooped to oblivion. Ultimate metal status achieved when you have scooped to oblivion and pushed to the cosmos. God mode unlocked.

I tried the free trial already but that was awhile ago and i just had wireless headphones and didnt have time but one maybe 2 days to play with it now i have studio monitors and would love to try it again may need to use the code how long is it going to available for to get 50% off?
I'd be glad to send you a trial extension, with monitors it will blow you away.
Also wireless headphones will introduce latency that destroys the feel and experience, not to mention headphones are not the best way to experience the II II

I'm using studio monitors, You could use headphones if you wanted. You need an audio interface.

It great for Bass as well, but I've stopped using it because I'm eliminating all iLok protected plugs in projects files (Mastering is not so critical) so I don't get nailed with hardware upgrades with forgetting to deauthorise, which has happened.
You need an ilok for this?

Plugins are sounding great now, but I still notice things like the slight delay and other giveaways that it's not a real amp, I'd see it as more of a home recording thing that would sound fine in a mix but I couldn't see myself regularly practicing using it as the delay in playing and the sound would bother me, there's at least some odd disconnect I can't quite put my finger on if not that. It does sound like an ever so slightly glitchy artificial noise gate, not quite like I'd expect noise gate to sound on a real amp.
Maybe I just have more sensitive ears and notice delays more(could be thousands of hours of competitive Quake 3/Live), I can tune almost perfectly by ear for example so I never use tuners. I should really learn to tune pianos if there's still a market for doing that in the future, could be a good side gig and we happen to have one in the house I could teach myself on.
Not quite sure how they even make these, but imagine using an AI with a real amp, and practicing for hours and hours for months being sure to play around with controls so the AI really learns how the amp sounds to auto-generate a plugin. Maybe they're already doing that with currently available plugins, but they could really become indistinguishable fast. But at the same time, if that means anyone with a tube amp can use AI to generate a plugin people making them might be SOL pretty quick. AI could be the number one thing that disrupts the future for better or worse.
check your settings, if your computer can handle something like 32 samples, that's less than a ms of latency. I usually go 64 and don't notice any. You can always increase your sample rate to 96k and get it even lower than that, if you still noticed it. Again though, system dependent.
@@TaylorDanley Thanks for the tips, I'll keep that in mind if I get around to building a home studio soon. I'm mostly going by my eyes and ears with videos but maybe it's just me.
I’ve had this since early 2021 and nothing comes close. If you’re listening to this video on your phone like I am rn, it’s may sound odd. This amp needs to be heard in monitors
