Holy crap, finally someone who doesn't treat Halloween Kills like it kicked their dog, stole their lunch money, and gave them the bubonic plague
You mean like how people treat the Rob Zombie films, the thorn trilogy and Resurrection? I love how it’s OK for that opinion to exist on any of those but not for this movie, like it’s somehow above criticism.
Amen to that. Kills was a fun time but people act like it had Michael r@ping his niece and being the pawn in a cult or something.
It's not ABOVE criticism because it's very flawed but people act like it's the worst of the worst when there are plenty of worse Halloween movies.
@@legofan370 it's just bafflingly (is that even a word?) bad but in the most entertaining way, felt like a parody.
Kills is another good entry but kinda messy. It’s biggest problem is the overwritten dialogue. I’m smart enough to understand the existentialism of the film’s themes. I don’t need Laurie Stroode over explaining it to me in clunky dialogue. You are already showing. Stop telling.

Glad to see that Season of the Witch is finally getting some love. That movie is severely underrated
Halloween 3 is my 2nd favorite Halloween film
I’m sure most people just got upset because Michael wasn’t in it.
The great was sarcastic but anyways yeah the movie was pretty good.
@@ashcrow2932 yeah
Not sure it is but I'd love to see a serious remake
Finally some love for H4

@@alexsilva28 no wonder they have the same Micheal mask for the posters.
I actually liked it a lot but it’s probably because I was around 4 when I watched it entirely first
Season of the Witch really is a good movie, glad to see it finally getting some recognition.
Good concept and ideas maybe but not the best execution
Maybe it's just me but I do think it's honestly scary. Or at the very least a little creepy.
@@thepeopleonthecouch2928 Yeah, where it not for the robots and cheesy tone its actually a super creepy premise I'd love to see remade

As a Halloween movie I'm not fan of 3. As a stand-alone anthology film I'm okay with it.
though ironicly that film had more to do with the actual holiday of Halloween than anything with myers
@@dapperloser3025 until they incorporated that into the mythology in 5 I believe?
@@alexsilva28 even then, the entire point of Season of the Witch was Halloween
If they did Halloween franchise as NJ an anthology series, I think it would've been more enjoyable. Freddy Krueger works better since he's got that caustic sense of humor and a defined personality. Jason and Myers feel like mute one-off monsters, or as supporting antagonists in subsequent installments. In that regard, Rob Zombie did it better since he humanized Myers and allowed us to see what he's been before he succumbed to his murderous ways.
Fuck you 3 is the best you idiot
I actually liked Rob Zombies first Halloween a lot. I love gritty, gore heavy slashers. Probably why i liked the 2009 Friday the 13th so much as well. Jason in that movie was freaking terrifying.
As a huge fan of the rob zombie Halloween movies this is hilarious
To be fair I like the rob zombie films but I'd never watch them again for the story lmao

@@BigBossZUCO Excellent? Nah, the dialogue was pretty bad. Still one of the better Halloween movies tho
@@snnnaaaaaakeeeee4470 not to mention he ruined my favorite character from the franchise Dr.Loomis turned him into a diva only looking for fame instead of a bad@$$ that walks off Micheal Myers attacks on a daily basis and literally walked into the movie telling everyone "shoot him dead first chance you get, he's evil incarnate"
What he did to Loomis was criminal
@@theVictor-isVonDoom in the directors cut loomis is a much much better character
I've heard that they originally wanted each movie of the franchise to have a different story, but people loved Michael so much that they made 2 a direct sequel, and when 3 came out people are mad that Michael didn't appear.
3 is nostalgic for me, and it has a pretty scary concept too. I liked it
My favourite Halloween film.
I think Halloween was supposed to be a franchise with a lot of villains. So I suppose that after Season of the Witch, there would have been a different villain, but Michael Myers was the one that gave them the big bucks so they just did Michael Myers. But imo it would have been cool if they went on with the idea, if they did maybe the Halloween franchise wouldn't have been as confusing. Of course, they could've always come back to the Michael Myers story, and they could even through in a couple of Michael Myers cameos to hype the fan up when they were watching a Halloween movie that didn't have Michael Myers.
That's probably happening is Ends. There will be 2 or more Michaels, or a different villain overall
@@sympatheticflake890 I suspect The Shape dies or disappears. Eventually killings happen again but oddly in different locations rather quickly. Some survivors or witnesses will say it was him but his mask was different (acknowledgment to using different masks in each movie). One might say they shot him but didn't bleed (possibly bulletproof vest). Essentially a small-time makeshift cult of thorn trying to bring The Shape back by killing in his name.
Yeah John Carpenter wanted each film to be different Villains. I think Ryan Hollinger mentioned it in one of his Halloween videos
Halloween was originally pitched as a franchise series with each movie having a different story taking place on Halloween night. Michael Myers became so popular that the studio demanded John Carpenter make a sequel with Myers, he agreed as long as he could kill Michael and move onto what his original vision was, then when Halloween II came out it was a phenomenon, people wanted more Michael Myers and when he tried to do what he wanted (Season of The Witch, which honestly isn't bad) people had already associated Myers with Halloween and it stuck. Hence why 4 is The Return of Michael Myers.
@@streetrat48 I wish the people gave Carpenter a chance 😔
Halloween 4 and 3 are so underrated. They’re really good, 3 works as a good stand alone movie and it was done really well and was actually scary, 4 has some scary scenes and good action scenes and is nice and simple
H20 is the hidden gem of Halloween movies. Couldn't even get through half an hour of Resurrection
H20 was okay, definitely a step in the right direction. But they ruined it.
Third act is very lame but the build up is great
H20 is where the franchise should have ended
Lmao, H20 is shit.
No. It's bad ASF. Zero atmosphere, bad mask, arguably worst Michael and the cast is forgettable. At least Resurrection had more than just one memorabele moment.
Glad to see people aren't shitting on the 2018 and Kills films just because they're new.
Ah yes, Halloween is a great franchise.
You could bassicly do the exact reactions in order for nearly every slasher franchise and youd be right.
First one, absolute classic. Second one also great! Then it goes downhill, then a remake apears which often is pretty good...then it goes downhill again.
The first Friday The 13th begs to differ
@@tarkus1056 first friday the 13th was fine on its own. People just associate it too much with jason now. At thr time it was great.
@@thesaviorofsouls5210 at the time Halloween and Alien were great, and are still great. At the time Friday the 13th was cool (the director has said multiple times he just wanted to quickly cash in on Halloween's success) and now its a pretty boring movie. Part 2 and Final Chapter have aged much better imo.
Sounds like scream, I haven’t seen 3, 4 or 5 but the first two are great
Halloween Ends- “actually…it’s horrible.”
Make it even better with him shouting "Oh no this is horrible!"
Nice to see you weren't too harsh on Halloween 6, that one's my favorite.
Its not a bad movie at all. I do think it has it's flaws but there are far worse Halloween movies than 6. I know some people don't like the whole cult stuff that's part of the Halloween 6 plot, and I get that, and I've told them to watch the Producer's Cut instead
@@captnhorrorttv3783 up until Halloween Kills, it was the only one in the series shot in the Autumn, and I think that makes a great deal of difference!
I didn't like the whole cult thing. Ruins the character of Michael.
The RZ Halloween movies I can't say people are dumb for not liking, he's a very "love it or hate it" filmmaker. H07 was okay but H2 was honestly fucking awesome, it was 100% HIM no one telling him what he can or can't put in it. Bonus for the theatrical and unrated being two completely different experiences in how Laurie progresses as a person
I like the first one but I’m sorry Hoboween 2 was awful
@@CheezeBOI69 hobo Michael is mad scary tho 😂
@@ajturner2307 scary and stupid looking. I like 2007 Halloween a lot tho.
tbh Halloween never really hit me like others. The first one is the only one I consider actually good through and through. Season of the Witch is pretty good but not really Halloween. Sadly I don't really enjoy the rest. I liked 2 for a little bit tho
I liked how scary the 2007 Halloween reboot Myers was.
Perfect list, absolutely spot on. I’d only change one thing, I wouldn’t even acknowledge those fucking piece of shit Rob Zombie “Halloween” movies.
I fucking love the rob zombie movies.
I don't like the halloween 2 only , The remake is amazing.
Gotta watch the theatrical cut of at least the original. Not the directors.
Wow you don't have, to be rude
I have a love and hate relationship with the Zombie movies
Halloween 2 was always been my favourite.
While the first one is great at atmosphere and tension, the second leans more into the gore; and starts to hone in on Michael's true persona.
And as for SOTW? We don't talk about SOTW.
Same
I feel it's a perfect sequel
We absolutely talk about Season of the Witch. I loved H3.
There are two films I've ever walked out of in the cinema, and one of them was Zombie's Halloween 2. Absolute tripe.
Actually liked Rob Zombie’s Halloween 1, but can’t say the same of 2.
I think a lot of people hate on Halloween Kills because they don't get what the movie is trying to be. Kills is just about Michael going berserk and being extra, it's not the serious new sequel to the original or the big finale, it's supposed to be that middle point where you just have fun.
I had a blast seeing how brutal and ruthless Michael was in that movie, and the ending with the callback to Michael's first kill on his sister's room was just awesome.
Michael Rosen is the best movie critic.
i was today years old when i learnd anyone in the world didn't think halloween 3 was shit (as a halloween movie)
The fact that there's more than one person who liked SOTW has me flabbergasted.
Rob Zombie Halloween > Halloween 2018. RZ’s Halloween is so underrated, it’s honestly one of the better horror remakes and it has one of the scariest versions of Michael Myers that has been done.
I love how Hes just Describing Food While Hes just rating the movies 😂😂
Rob zombie halloween 1 should have been:
"You can't catch me, I'm the speedy burger man!"
and rob zombie halloween 2 should have been:
"Quick! Get out! Get out! now!"
Halloween II was one of the best sequel ever made
I think the Zombie films were alright. Not masterpieces by any means, nowhere close, but he did Michael Myers really well in terms of scariness. The tall brute he was fit the movies much better than the older one (who was a good horror movie character in itself but compared to the jolly green giant, he feels more creepy than terrifying). I wish the Zombie films didn't have his trademark white-trash, foul-mouthed characters/script in it since they don't really fit the franchise (they'd be better in a Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake), and I think that's one of the big reasons the movies are so hated. His originals like 31 and the Firefly series were pretty good imo but the format and aesthetic just didn't do Halloween justice.
For you’re opinion. Don’t justify you’re comment like it’s true. That’s all in you’re opinion. You’re entitled to you’re own opinion. But don’t say the rob zombie Halloween movies aren’t good enough just because you think.

I love The Rob Zombie Halloween movies. Most of the parts anyway
First one is great, second one was okay. I like that Rob Zombie did something different, plus John Carpenter told him to make the movie his own!
@@casesoutherland4175 Yes, but Carpenter also said later that explaining Michael was a mistake, to which I agree with. Trying to make him a sympathetic villain was just, eh.
I like the gigantic version of Michael, though, which Carpenter also didn't like. Makes him much more intimidating.
@@CidGuerreiro1234 Carpenter's entitled to his own opinion and I don't really care what he thinks about it. I still rank the original higher while I personally rank RZ's remake my fourth favorite.

That poster for Haloween kills is dope tho
Unpopular opinion : I enjoyed 5 more than H20
5 had Loomis, where H20 was just forgettable.
Me too, H5 is a decent film, H20 is an abomination.
Eww
I actually liked some of the ideas in Rob Zombie's Halloween 2
Me too actually. I love the idea of the film being a character study of characters who survived this horrible night years later.
Personal Ranking:
Halloween (78): Peach Syrup.
Halloween II: Peach Syrup again.
Season of The Witch: A bit rich… but okay.
Return: Alright, alright.
Revenge: I don’t like it very much.
Curse: Cooking oil.
H2O: Everything was lovely once again.
Resurrection: Okay, okay.
Halloween (07): Jelly stuff.
Halloween 2: Soggy cake.
Halloween (18): Really good.

Best and most accurate one to date. I love this one especially the end. Bravo to you and your exquisite taste my friend!
I weirdly liked Halloween kills, ofc there some things that were a bit frustrating and didn’t make sense but I thought it wasn’t bad for a Halloween film . Like you have to admit Michael Myers is an absolute beast in Halloween kills , and that enough is good for me to like the movie.
(UPDATE to my “now deleted” comment)
The only “Halloween” films I’ve seen are “Halloween (1978)”, “Halloween II (1981)” and “Halloween H20”.
I’ve also seen “Season of the Witch” too. (Works best as a stand alone film)

Halloween 3 Season of the Witch - 5/10
It could be more likable if it had changed its title

Halloween 2018 - 9/10
Love this movie.
Halloween Kills - TBA but I have a feeling of a 9/10
I haven't watched this yet but after watching the trailer and one or two clips, I just have a hunch this is going to be a good one.
Halloween Ends - My aim is on 8/10
Since when was a cult not horror?
@CookiesOnToast Michael Myers is a killer, who murders with no reason nor intention so it is quite ridiculous to put in a, not relatively scary, cult in the franchise.
I hated the Rob Zombie remakes so I’m very happy about this list XD
How about Halloween Resurrection?
@@fernie-fernandez eh…
I did like rob zombie’s adaption of Halloween, have yet to see the second one. The first one really captures his family life growing up, and you can feel the chaos he has to deal with and be around, and how it made him the monster he is
The broken home feel of it was daft what made Halloween scary was that Myers was the son of what appeared to be a non chaotic middle class family. Not to say the remake was bad it was good but was a tad cliche Michael being born a psychopath and not having to actually suffer to become a socio path was super interesting
I think Halloween Kills is the best horror movie ever in my opinion. 10/10 movie

What was wrong with Zombie’s Halloween?
It’s just very different thematically and Zombie’s visual style and dialogue can be a little much for people. One either loves it or hates it. Me I’m kinda tacitly a fan while recognizing it’s not the definitive Halloween story.
Halloween 5 underrated
this is so extremely accurate
0:57 that’s what she said
The Rob Zombie films are due for some trash talk, because I’ve been listening to people pretend it’s one of the best horror films of all time for 15 years.
Halloween 2 RZ is my favorite in the series
Season of the witch has a fun premise that the average viewer will figure out 5-10 minutes after it’s introduced. The premise is the best part but the execution is severely lacking and has such unlikable characters. That can work but they’re not even a good kind of unlikable where you can’t wait to see them die it’s just that I don’t care what happens to them. Nice soundtrack though. I’d love to see its premise redone in a better movie.
People always say that everyone hated it when it came out cause it didn’t have Michael but if you watch the movie you realize how horribly paced and dull it is. People don’t like it cause it’s a drag of a movie. At least that’s how I feel.
Oh well, you got the right reaction for Halloween ends anyway lol that’s how the movie ended up being. A little too much of the same old summed up by Rosen mom analogy haha
I actually liked both rob zombie movies
I hate that the Rob Zombie Movies get so much hate but they are good films 😞
I don’t see H3 as great but to each its own I suppose.
Just because Michael Myers isn't in the movie doesn't make it bad. Halloween was originally going to be movie series based off of different stories, hence why no Myers. After it was released, people were disappointed that Michael didn't appear as a character and thus the movie received some backlash. If you view it as a stand alone movie, it is really great.
I don’t even count it as a Halloween movie. The name doesn’t make it Halloween, Michael Myers does.
I'm going to sound very controversial when I say this, but Halloween 3 is not only my favorite Halloween sequel, but one of my favorite sequels of all time!
As much as I love Halloween 2, Halloween H2O, and the Rob Zombie remake, I would've loved it if John Carpenter and Debra Hill went ahead and made the Halloween series an anthology! There's a million things that could happen on Halloween night and it wouldn't just be a killer with a mask!!
