I LOVE Mike’s absolute bitter cynical attitude about everything. He’s not playing up for the camera or going along with the show’s atmosphere, he’s just like “I don’t want to be here and I’m not gonna pretend otherwise”. It’s hilarious because I would feel the exact same way.
I had a fly in my room and it kept flying towards my ear... Wost experience of my life, I put on headphones and it still kept flying into it, I'm convinced insects are targeting my greatest fears!
The most scariest thing in that video for me was how you stayed in that small space for so long. I have cluster phobia, Arachnophobia, and for some reason a fear of ceiling fans falling on my head, oh wait, I’m also quite scared of the sea creatures
Aww, dubias are cute and hissers even more so. Hissing cockroaches are one of the best pets for a kid to take care of themselves, completely unable to hurt anyone but tough as nails.
The smell is probably those dots of roach poop. It would be more of an exposure therapy if Coyote tried the German and American roaches which is what people commonly come across.
As the man said theyre over 4,000 roach species. Most people dont encounter american or german roaches. I havent lol we have bigger roaches here though in the jungle
Yep. Can confirm, keep colonies of both of the same species (G. portentosa and B. dubia) and the animals themselves are pretty much odorless. Their food (fruit-based) can go rotten before they eat it all, and enough of anything poop's is gonna smell bad. But you have to pretty much stick your face into the enclosure after leaving it without cleaning for a while to smell it.
I have chameleons so there-for I buy Dubias to feed my chameleons. I love the Dubia roaches. They're the cleanest species of roach there is & they cannot climb smooth surfaces like other roaches.
Can definitely second the exposure therapy thing- My mom is SUPER afraid of snakes, but somehow I convinced her to go to a reptile expo with me for my birthday. They had a LOT of ball pythons for sale there, so she got to see both babies and full-grown ones from all sorts of morphs, and she got to watch them up close, ask several breeders questions and actually learn more about them. She still doesn’t like snakes, but she’s pretty much okay with ball pythons now!
I understand how a phobia can effect a person, but it's still funny how ready the person going through the experience is ready to up the ante as opposed to the person watching it. Also, apparently cockroaches feel safe if they're a bit squeezed between two things, which I find kinda cute.
Can we just take a moment of silence for This man? Mad respect for this man. He chilling, teaching us about cockroaches while being swarmed with them by the minute. I'm scared of my own body hair at this point.
I think more educational facts about these roaches would have been useful in this video to emphasize that these insects are harmless and not something to be afraid of. That's what really helped me get over a fear of handling them. I find them quite charming now and cute :)
Coyote, I have a SEVERE phobia of roaches.....so I admit this is a video I didn’t feel comfortable watching, but I did! You are so brave for doing this and my skin was crawling the entire time 😱
I have a fear of most inspects due to aggressive swarms from either flying bugs or crawling bugs. So even a butterfly will send me for the hills. You would catch me dead near that box I'd be as far as mike
I have extreme phobia of those flying brown American roaches because of my childhood trauma. But I would love to have Madagascar hissing one. They are cute and interesting
Thinking about being in the box, gives me really bad anxiety lmao. Damn near went into a full blown panic attack and almost started hyperventilating thinking about it. Thanks Obama for the weed.
i actually have the same roaches ! even have a video of them. These are *Madagascar hissing roaches* , pretty cool animals! I know this is advertising but I think some of you might like my channel aswell!
That would be entertaining but in this video he is trying to show cockroaches are harmless, but maggots could definitely hurt you weather it gets in your mouth, ear nose, it would definitely not be good for you
One time I didn’t realize that my dogs food came with a bunch of pantry moth larvae and I took a sip of water (I had placed next to there) and felt a kernel of rice…but I hadn’t eaten rice, so I spit it out and it was a larvae of a pantry moth that came out of my mouth and I almost DIED!!! It was the worst
they can actually. my aunt went on a camping trip and when she returned she started saying that her ear felt weird and she kept hearing like scratching noises. so when she went to the doctor they checked inside and saw the butt of a roach sticking out. the scratching noise was from it trying to get out of her ear. so then the doctor used the suction thing to suck it out of her ear 😂
*I'm adding this to my bucket list, of things I'll never do!*
Is that a list where life is complete as long as it never happens?

I live in Thailand and we have german and american roaches. I’m scared too death of roaches. I’d freeze and scream my lungs out when I see one
I'm normally pretty fine with roaches, I just hate their erratic, fast behaviour. That might be hell

Also, Dubia roaches CANNOT fly despite having wings. Only the males have wings, Looks like they are dumping all males into the box.
Alternate title: Roaches poop on Coyote's head for 11 minutes.
I started dying at 5:06 because Mike’s answers have been so straight forward. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
