Can you please re-do this Podcast🙏? It’s amazing information but I’m having a hard time listening to the Neuroscientist because of the echo😔

Unfortunately I could hear Dr. Gundry perfectly, but only heard about 20% of what Dr. Goodenowe said due to the sound quality of his voice on this RUclips recording. Very frustrating. I did check out the sound quality on the Dr. Gundry PODCAST (from my iphone podcast APP) and could hear his voice a lot better. Will have to listen again there. The most important message I understood (please correct me if I'm wrong) is that there is no way to improve the deficiency he refers to through dietary foods, only through supplementation.

PHENOMENAL podcast! Thank you again, Dr Gundry! (yeah, his mic made it difficult to hear, but reading the cc worked. The only problem was, you had to stare at the screen instead of puttering around and listening while you did other work. Small price to pay for life-saving information, though!).

So disappointed that the sound on Dr. Goodenowe's side was so bad. Just couldn't hear what he was saying about this interesting subject.
Dr. Gundry, please interview Dr. Stasha Gominak sometime. It would be interesting to understand how your ideas intersect.
    Thank you.

Dr. Gundry, I 'm half Italian, and I have Thalassemia... a blood condition similar to cycle cell anemia. Have you considered this blood condition in the Mediterranian diet results? Thalassemia condition required less iron in the blood cell. When I give blood, they think I am anemic, but when they spin my blood, they see I have OK iron, and I am allowed to donate blood. Happens every time. I think this may be part of the reason for longer life in some Italians. My dad was 100% Italian, and he had it, too.

QUESTION: This is not on this particular topic, but has been on my mind a lot recently.
How do you determine the amount of lectins in foods? If there a way for me to test foods myself? I am curious by nature and I have too much time on my hands...is there a way for me to test foods without a specialized lab? If not, I'd love to know how you developed testing or determined which foods are high in lectins. How did you discover that the skin of almonds and not the whole almond was higher in lectins? I'd love to hear more about this part of your work! :). Thanks!

Fish is a primary source of TMAO, but is sttongly associated with reduced CVD risk.

      I don't think so: chriskresser.com/red-meat-and-tmao-its-the-gut-not-the-meat/
The evidence linking TMAO production to eating red meat, and serum TMAO levels to heart disease, is not as cut-and-dry as the study authors suggest. For example:
The Nature paper on TMAO contained data from two studies: an epidemiological study on humans, and a clinical study on mice. The human study compares a single vegan that they managed to convince to eat a steak to five “representative” meat-eaters. A sample size of six people, with only one in the vegan group, is hardly adequate to draw firm conclusions from.
The mouse study used a carnitine supplement. While it is well established that free carnitine increases TMAO production, previous studies have not shown that carnitine-rich foods like red meat increase TMAO. In fact, in one 1999 study, out of 46 different foods tested, including red meat, only one food elevated TMAO levels in the participants: seafood (see graph to right, from Chris Masterjohn’s article referenced below). This makes perfect sense since trimethylamine occurs naturally in seafood. Does this mean we should cut back on fish and shellfish because they’re going to give us a heart attack?(15)

Hi Dr G! I'm Japanese and we eat mochi in winter, it's made from sticky rice. How they make it is they beat cooked sticky rice until they get so sticky. It's extremely yummy I love it with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
I'm wondering if lectins can be destroyed by beaten up!
    Thanks so much! D

If it's white rice and cooked then the lectin content will be very low. Enjoy!

This podcast was very enlightening as I seem to have memory problems since I turned 51. To be honest, I didn't like you at first... especially when you seemed to be defending GMO corn in one episode. I personally don't believe Monsanto has our best interest at heart. However, the more I watch your podcast *(which I have speed to 2 to get through them because they are all long)* I find I like the content more and more and you are honest and sincere in your opinions and facts. I love this about you. Thank you Dr. Gundry.
