    I find these pencils from faber Castell more simillar to coloured pencils than actual pencils

    Well. I agree with your choice in pencils and erasers but I will add texture of the paper is most important to me. The thickness isn’t as important as much as density. For example Kent paper is likely the smoothest most dense form of paper. It makes drawing fine lines very easy for me to draw clearly while maybe I would want to go for a more a broken line look with much texture so I may go for a Bristol vellum. To put a finer point the color of the paper should reflect the pencil used. Sepia vs black vs cream vs bone white all have qualities that reflect softness and/or colors of pencils or reflect the compositions of the drawings themselves as a composition.
