I'm Croatian and visited Salvador,Bahia in 2021. It was amazing and hope to visit again. The African influence is very obvious there, together with other mixes. Also, the places like Pelourinho,Barra...loved them all. Greetings!
Greetings thanks for sharing!
Dobar dan. Kako si? Nice knowing croatians are visiting Salvador. I'm from Salvador and, currently, living in Croatia 👍
You are welcome to Salvador ❤

Great job with the video. I love me some Brazil, and Salvador will be my chosen place for retirement. I've been to 37 countries, but Brazil stole my heart. It has such a rich and vibrant culture. So glad to see you're enjoying it as well.
It's naturally beautiful and we are really loving the people here!
You make me cry man !
I'm very humbled that you would choose here as a place to retire to. May I ask other notable countries you have been to that people usually don't talk much about? I've been planning for a long trip in the next 3-4 four years, and I've been carefully considering places to add to it.
@@ammygamer My favorite countries or notable countries may be different based on what you like, so keep that in mind. But since you said notable, I take that to mean unique, so I'll leave out the western hemisphere and direct you towards Asia. For me, I love Vietnam and I also had an incredible time in Laos. Thailand and Cambodia are also right there, so if you can spend a good amount of time in this region, you are sure to have an amazing experience.
That is great to hear. Usually, Brazilians are not used to see foreigners coming to live here. As you aforementioned, Asia (especially ancient Conchichina), are great places to live as well, so its very heartwarming to hear you choose us over them.
I hope Brazil receives you with open arms and a open heart, and that you be very happy here.
Obrigada por mostrarem minha majestosa Bahia, a África fora da África para nós afro-brasileiros.

Muito bem dito!
I love my Black afro brazilian Brothers and sisters
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾❤❤❤❤🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
No don't listen to these black Americans they hate themselves and are trying to usurp your identity they want to use the label black so that they can be someone else. For example if they see a Colombian that is of Afro descent they will try to do the same they will try to claim that Colombian as one of them so that they can say ohh look at him we are the same therefore I am Colombian too!! Do not entertain these people you are not aware of who they really are and how they really think!!!

As a Brazilian born and raised here in Salvador, I'm very happy that you guys had a great time in my city!
Salvador is THEPLACE to be. Actually the whole state of Bahia is incredible. The beaches in the south of Bahia, the mountains, blue lakes and waterfalls in Chapada Diamantina, the amazing Morro de São Paulo… all in Bahia. The best state of Brazil, hands down
Vc é uma babona pela Bahia né, sua linda!?
A place I had never heard of, but worthy of a spot on my bucket list.
It snuk up on is too.
I’m Brazilian living in the US, love Salvador ❤. You guys have such a great energy
Thanks!
I'm from São Paulo n here is all that Europe influence. Wish I could see more of African influence here... But I'm happy to say that every year I can go to Morro de São Paulo, in Bahia! ❤
Never heard of this place. Thanks for sharing in such a fun way! Made me want to be there.
It's unique, interesting and laid back! Love it!
Salvador is vibrant with history & beauty. But the true treasure is the people, and Portuguese is such a beautiful language!!
As a Brazilian from Sao Paulo Bahia is the slept-on heart of our country. Everyone thinks of Sao Paulo and Rio but Bahia is beautiful in every way possible.

I must say that I'm little surprised about yr reaction in Salvador. I was so waiting for this moment. I thought you would feel like home there, more than anyplace else, and definitely connected with the culture. I'm Brazilian, considered "white" and when I arrived in Salvador and specifically in Pelourinho, I experienced so many mix emotions that I carried throughout my life. Today I live in USA for almost thirty years and went back to Salvador four times. Just to watching you, gave me chills.
For me it was definitely a spiritual connection. I always tells my friend that decides to go there, open your heart and listen to your soul: Salvador is magic.
All of them, so far, agree with that.
Interesting, I thought our reactions were pretty positive and extreme. Loving the people and the city.
I felt an instant connection, almost cried as soon as I left the airport. Walking, breathing, dancing, speaking, eating in Salvador is an experience. I felt at home and ended up staying for 6 years. Going back in August. Me apaixonei e quero voltar para sempre.
@@moniqueuu8777 We felt a connection as soon as we hit the city limits as well. We've already extended our reservations a month.....

Salvador is the most city cultural and historic in Brazil.

It’s quite beautiful with the deeply rich history!
Thank You for sharing the History of African Brazilians and for visiting Bahia! I’m aways trying to find Content in English to share with mu friends here in the US and it’s hard to find! Watching from Florida. Salvador, Brazil is a place I look forward to not only visiting but also receiving a second citizenship there after Limon, Costa Rica and Mauritius. I was always curious about the Afro Brazilian community in Brazil. Just never knew which state had the most. Salvador would be perfect for me I'm sure because I'm not interested in the bigger cities like Rio and Sao Paolo. Those are the ones that always use to pass my ears casually. That's how I knew not to take interest 😂 but because Salvador is quietly being spoken about, my interest peaks! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing! This took me back down memory lane. Bahia is extrordinarily special. In all of my travels, I've never experienced anything like Bahia. Wishing you safe and vibrant travels ahead.
It is truly unique and beautiful! Thanks for the well wishes. May peace fill your life!
Oh, I'm Brazilian, and how great it is to see people from abroad getting to know Brazilian culture.
It is important to highlight that our culture is really diverse as you said. I went to Salvador at only 26 years old, although lived all my life in the Northeast region of Brazil (in Ceará and Pernambuco). So I always lived close to Bahia, but when I went there, I had a lot of things to learn about Bahia's culture and food that I had never tasted before.
I'm being a digital nomad for a year now, traveling by Brazil's North and Northeast regions, and I still feel that I have a lot to know in my own country.
Something that I really recommend for you guys, it's to be here during the "São João" (also called festas juninas, like "June parties"), a period in June that we celebrate with food and dances. In the northeast, this culture is really strong. There is kind of a discussion about what's the best: Carnaval or São João, hahaha. For me, São João is the best one!!!!
Muito obrigade pelas recomendações!
Thanks for another cultural exchange & bridge between the African US & African Bahian/Brazilian traditions. I'll post it on Teaching African-American History on Facebook again! You guys are always in good sports with an open mind, showing beauty, culture & truth in our African-American diaspora experience!
We appreciate you! You seem to know our driving purpose. Thanks for enjoying another one and for supporting our work by sharing! ✌🏾

We have been in Brazil since November ‘22 and although we haven’t been all over, it is an amazing place. We got a 90 day extension while in Curitiba and it was by far the fastest and easiest extension we have ever applied for. People have been very open and generous. We are fluent in french and english, and are very functional in Spanish ( just can’t get rid of our accents 🥴 ) but Brazilian Portuguese ? OMG 😂. Anyways, maybe one day we will be back to explore the north. Thanks for your great videos.
Awesome, thanks for watching! Any recommendations for cities we should visit?
Have you taken the train tour to Morretes from Curitiba?
Both Manaus and Belém are the largest amazonic capitals in the north, y'all would love it, both have one of the best/exotic culinary of the country

12:20 I live in the south of Brazil and I've saw an ATM without cash only a couple times. I guess it depends on the bank or the city.
