Oh, wow. If I close my eyes, it almost feels like I'm still at this concert. I was in Concert II during this concert. It was my first year in CCGD and this was my first time singing this gorgeous piece. I'm in Women's Youth now. Moving up! CCGD is full of so many very gifted singers and they are all led by this wonderful women and conductor: Ms. Nott. I had her in 8th grade for Concert 1. She changed my life with her teaching and I will always remember her for that. SHe is, and always will be, my role model.
Deborah Tjio your comment inspired me to make the decision to move onto youth chorus next year after being in the chorus for four years,, I will always love singing this song the most
Beautiful! I was in Concert Choir and Women’s Choir in High School and we did this song. Still my favorite 20 years later. Best times of my high school years. Y’all were remarkable.
This is the ULTIMATE best version--"all stops pulled" so to speak. Came across it as I researched for a treble ensemble. Then I remembered that this piece is a signature of CCGD! So wonderful! Cynthia, we love you! Generations of parents thank you!
My word, it's so haunting to hear this. I was in CCGD 2004-06, and this song has stayed with me ever since. My dad still listens to recordings of it. I will always treasure my time at CCGD. One of my biggest regrets is that I did not keep singing after I moved away from Dallas.
I have a tear in my eye for 2 reasons. One I had the PLEASURE of singing this song in Chorus with the Genius of Cynthia, maybe 25 years ago as well as having my mother's funeral a day after seeing this video on You Tube. It was BEAUTIFUL when we first sang it years ago as well as when I heard these beautiful youth choirs sing it today. Thank YOU for posting this MARVELOUS and meaningful rendition in all its beauty.
They sang this again, tonight, for Cynthia Nott's last concert with CCGD. The kids really did this song up to 11. We were bawling the entire time. I wish her the best in retirement, but it's the end of an era and I fear things will never be the same. This music must not end.

Kudos to you Dallas for having a children's performance choir of this size.
I will always enjoy performing this song... one of my favorite reasons I’m in the chorus. I love you mrs. Knott!
Awesome. Thanks. Jesus, the King is coming back soon.
