🤣🤣🤣🤣 Listen back, I'm talking nonsense lol, but hopefully you get what I mean, when you open an old box it has that smell. Thank you for watching and the appreciation for how rare this is... can't stop looking at this cover.
I know, right? It really is next level in terms of retro feel but also detail... @yamaha, bring back these old-style retro covers-they are goals! Thanks for watching, dude 💪
Thank you, dude. I really appreciate you noticing the machines. It’s taken 6 years and a lot of patience, but I have most of my bucket list skis. I still have some to find, but I’m really proud of the ones I've found. Thanks again, dude.
That's awesome! Good looking cover. And if you're ever stranded on a desolate beach, you can use it to wave down passing ships or planes lol. It's so "loud" they won't miss it.
This made me laugh 🤣🤣 very true, sadly though its so rare and cost me an arm and a leg so wont ever take it out... super cool though to complete the ski... Thanks for watching 💪💪✌✌
I have to say I do love the GPs, but I was always more of an XP man, hence why I have the XPDI. The 1300R is a great ski, though I've only ridden it 2-3 times. The reality is, if I had more room, I would get one. That said, like @gureno19 said, it is a bit too new, as is my XPDI. I think strictly speaking, 2000 is the cutoff for what most say are classics at this point. Modern classics for sure-I would drop the RX, XPDI, GP, RXP 2004, etc., into that category. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 💪💪✌✌
@@gureno19 Agree 2000 is the cut off I would say but I broke that rule with the XPDI... so I'm sure there is room for a GP at some point... I love the red and white one though more which I think is the 800...
@@classicjetskis I think the Ultra 150 could sneak in as well, it's older styling doesn't look as modern as the GP's especially paired with the old Coca-Cola style font graphics. I almost pulled the trigger on a mint 94 ZXI1100 triple the other week, one owner ski with the purple and red trim. Sadly though it didn't pass my compression test and when I put a bore scope down there a small chunk of piston was missing...so let that one slide through. It did however awaken my want for a big kawi muscle ski with every conceivable bell and whistle on hand for skis in the 90s 🤣
Thanks, Chris. I agree, the 1100 is such a fun, quick ski to ride to this day! So glad I found this cover-it completes the look. The Raider is ceramic coated, and I'll put the microfiber lining on this cover so I can use it on a summer day. Thanks for watching.
I know, right? The modern stuff is so forgettable... just plain colors and no intricate designs. I miss these crazy designs-designs that get people saying "wow, look at this" or "man, I want one." If a new RXP goes past you with a black cover on, it doesn't make you go "man, I want one." Let's hope the manufacturers up their game in the future. Thanks for watching, dude.
Super jealous rn, I’m using a new cover that fits the raider but dosent look no where near as clean as that, we need to bring back style and detail like that, great video
Thanks, man, really appreciate you watching and appreciating how cool and rare this is... Can you believe such a beautiful cover has been stuck in a box for nearly 30 years? 10000% agree-they need to bring back cool covers, but sadly it's all about mass-market, easy-to-pump-out covers nowadays. Thanks for watching, dude.
So I have a Blaster 2 cover as well, just haven't recorded a video yet. Who else wants to see me unbox the B2 cover? It's an OEM brand new cover-not as crazy a design as this Raider one, but I believe it's a blue one and still new. Thanks for watching, dude.
Ahhhh I know the feeling. I have one 1995 OEM cover for my super jet and I have two for my 1996 wave blaster. There’s nothing like the factory graphics.
Love it, man! It's crazy to think what's in the box is over 20 years old. It's impressive how good products can sit in a box for this long. Thanks for watching, dude!
I know, right! So, so cool, I can't stop looking at it... The number of times I have gone down in my PJs just to sit on my skis and look at them, and that's a true story... I love it so much. It makes me feel like a kid again and to be honest this is the feeling I have been chasing with all these classics since day one...Thanks for watching, dude.
Thanks, man. Really appreciate you watching and supporting what I'm doing with the classics. Man, I love the GPs... red is my favourite colour, so that would have been the one I picked back then if I had the chance. Send me a pic if you have one, dude, to my Insta or FB-would love to see it. Thanks for watching 💪
Thanks, man! So on the seat, I use a marine Gtechniq vinyl protector. I have found that the leather ones are super slippery when riding. I wanted a product that is more of a hydrophobic style coating to help keep the water out of the material vs. filling the pores with a cream. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
I know, right? Still can't believe I found this. I see the blue ones all the time, but this design is harder to find. I agree regarding not towing with cover, straight out of the box, but what I would say is, once microfiber lined and ceramic coated, I always use a cover. The one time I didn't, I got a stone chip on the front of my XPDI... was so pissed. I would rather cut back the ceramic coating, clay bar, and reapply vs. paying for the colour match and gel coat repair again. Thanks for watching as always, dude.
@@classicjetskis appreciated Chris is it? It's more for the safety factor, for the cover coming off and landing on the windscreen of the car behind... Or to stop it partially coming off and being dragged and being worn through on the ground. Nice find.I have a 2001 seadoo xp. Do you know if they ever made a special cover for my year model? I've seen a red cover and a blue cover. But I can't find pictures of anything else.
It's amazing how much detail and quality things on the 90's had. New ski are so poorly made they don't even has a fiber glass hull anymore and most of the material feels so cheap.
10000% totally agree! The cover was a true optional extra; it was something to be desired. Nobody wants a dull black cover with generic branding on it. It's sad, but with the introduction of the new jet blasters, I think we may see Yamaha do a retro cover. It would be cool to see them up their game. Thanks for watching, dude.
Unreal the amount of effort yamaha put in on this cover. The color fades of blue to purple, the neons, the fit n finish. Just dont see this kind of dedication and care anymore.
1000% dude, totally agree. The attention to detail 25 years ago is far superior to what we see now. That said, this is a common criticism of products in general nowadays. I do personally think a younger audience has shorter attention spans and isn’t as tuned into details like this... I think it's lost on them. Also, when the skis themselves are pretty boring color-wise, it doesn’t make sense for them to go crazy on the covers. With all that said, I really hope we start to see Yamaha and Sea-Doo up their game... who knows. Thanks for watching, dude.
Damn Joe, this must be fate! Literally as I watched this video and commented I've gone on eBay as I always do to look for covers and have found exactly the same cover unused and boxed for $500 AUD in Japan. @@classicjetskis thanks mate! I think it's going to take a good 4-5 weeks to get here sadly 😭. I was very lucky with the NOS Protec ride plate and the NOS Yamaha performance intake grate, all in matching purple powder coat 💜💜, I've literally been searching for approx 12months straight. Strangely enough the open intake grate was a factory Yamaha performance part and came in a Yamaha clear bag with the yamaha part numbers etc. Can't wait to see what it's like with the the new setup and new impeller 💪.
The Raiders would keep up with the new non sc 4 strokes and blow many of the old 2st away. To keep it stock the secret for more speed with these people don’t understand is just impeller pitch. You will get more mph then any pipe or other mod you do. You can just repitch the stock as it’s SS just like the aftermarkets but it’s not polished so it doesn’t have the same shine. No need for expensive Solas. The 1100 Raider will gain 4mph pitched to 15/23 Stock pitch 16/19 was too low for that light hull and big motor and 155mm pump.
Make up your mind, man-am I crazy for keeping the classics alive or should I ditch them for the new stuff? Can't win either way with you... Either way, I'm all in on keeping these old rides going in a respectful and accurate way to how they were in the 90s. That's what inspired people, and in 20 years, a complete machine will be worth more than the beat-up ones. I know you love the 2-strokes, but to me, it's an art piecing together all the details on these machines, and OEM covers, in my opinion, are vital. I admit I pay a lot for rare parts, but that's why I probably have one of the cleanest collections out there. Thanks for watching.
