Both Thompson and Hemingway both sought adoration fervently, both carefully cultivating personas that in the end trapped them
Your channel has been a wonderful discovery, sometimes the algorithm does wonders. Thank you for your work, it's polished and well-devised.
Thank you, I appreciate it. More to come!
Is it only me who thinks this guy sounds like pyrocynical in his game review videos?
Right? Finally, 1 for the algorithm
I was bummed when I realised how young this channel is 10/10 continuity
This was a fantastic video about the world's greatest writers. On a personal level, it made me think about the dangers of being lost in nostalgia for a time in our youth. As someone entering their mid forties, I often find myself aggrandizing my twenties. When I was in my twenties I was the happiest I've ever been, and this was around the time I discovered Hunter S. Thompson, and Hemingway. Time is short though, and we often can't hold on to those things that made our lives seem so wonderful. It astounds me that these men I idolize, would share such a sense of loss. It makes me sad to think that these men felt they had nothing left to give the world, after they'd already given so much.
this is a beautiful piece of writing
Rest in Peace Ernest H. and H. Thompson 🤍
Great material here, I enjoyed this quite a bit!
I'd love to see some coverage on Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved if you'd consider it.
Much love!
It breaks my heart to see content like THIS hidden on youtube while shit farms like nerdstalgic eat up traffic, no good deed goes unpunished
Just feeding the algorithm. Your channel deserves more attention.
Chasing the zeitgeist will often find yourself being chased by it
I wonder if you might revisit the topic of Hemingway after it's been revealed that before his death he had been regularly followed by a three letter government agency, this caused him to be diagnosed with paranoia, which resulted in shock therapy. During those "treatments" it was said that he felt that he was losing his mental faculties, and committed suicide a short time later.
Nice echo of the end of HSTs Hemingway article in your vid.
Beautiful work here my friend.
Great stuff!
Nice job.
very interesting video!!
Nice job
June 21st? I’ve always heard and read he died on July 2nd.
You're right, I dont know how I made that mistake. Thank you for letting me know.
His birthday, July 21.

If you mention Thompson's name in the thumbnail, i bet your views would increase.
just a comment to boost the algorithm
commenting for the algorithm
Likewise. I was randomly recommended this Channel and was blown away by the quality
and of all places, really. Shoshone, Idaho to the immediate south, a real crap hole. And a nice run north on the way to Montana and Canada. What gives?
I mean, I'd rather live there than some shithole like LA?
Perhaps it was a good place to live in the past, where the locals respect your privacy.
All I derived from this is writers have an over inflated value of self worth
Great stuff!
