Charles and Carlos had a bit of a tiff in Spain. Now that their relationship as teammates is coming to an end, is this the start of things to come? Or just a one off?

I'm a Carlos fan but I'm not biased (unlike Tommo) he unnecessarily squeezed Charles and sometimes is ott.. but then Charles unnecessarily spoke out to the media and Carlos just reacted to that. Outside of the incident itself i think the way both drivers commented abt it to media wasn't a great for the team especially since their form has gone down a little since monaco. With Merc above them, it already wasn't a great weekend and their fight is like a cherry on top. Just makes it look like ferrari are having a meltdown after starting well for a 3rd season in a row.
Especially carlos's comment was a little surprising since Charles is known for usually NOT saying anything bad abt the team, so maybe things are a lot different inside the team

What you want when the car is the fast is 2 equally matched drivers, qualifying on the same row, finishing 1-2, but when the car is 4th best it's a "driver problem" apparently. A problem that Red Bull wish they had.
By the way Charles and Carlos both need to STFU and drive and stop calling for team orders to give them a free pass with their own teammate. Charles is especially delusional if he thinks Hamilton is going to play the #2 and let him glide by whenever he thinks he's saving tires or whatever.

Hamilton and Rosberg - i dont need to explain this.
I think Hamilton and Leclerc are going to clash because Lewis will want to give it a big push here in the twilight era of his career and Charles is very much in his prime and the un-announced leader of the team.

Actually I think, or hope, thank the pairing of Leclerc and Hamilton will work a whole lot better than Leclerc and Sainz. Hamilton has become a better teammate, said by himself and proven by his overall time with Russel. Yes, he might want to push in his last (few) seasons and so will Leclerc considering he's been on the brink of a wdc fight quite a few times. But they're both more often than not clean and level headed drivers. In addition to that, I think they'll get along on a personal level wayyy better than Leclerc and Carlos. And with Carlos Sainzs father "leaving", it's another irritating factor gone at Ferrari.

Too many times of Sainz getting in his way for no reason to ruin an agreed strategy (see Austria last year, China this year), and he had to swallow his pride too many times. Sainz has complained and quite frankly said worse on Leclerc, but when the other party does not engage in said discourse it dies down pretty quick. It's a long season so Fred needs to intervene now before it spirals. Sainz may be out of the door, but he has a contract to fulfill and if he acts in "his own interest" they can just kick him out and slot in a junior driver. It's that easy.

I think it must be hard accepting there's a huge chance he may not win a world championship creeping into Carlos' mind. He probably also struggles to comprehend why he can't match Leclerc in the same machinery even though they're generally quite close to each other over the years in qualifying generally.
Leclerc will win a championship for Ferrari if they simply nail the regulations. If Newey comes to Ferrari and matches their upwards trajectory then you can understand why Carlos might be resentful.

And yes, Carlos frustration is understandable and totally okay to have, but he shouldn't let it out on his team and teammate while he's still driving with them. I just don’t see how he wins here?

The CarLando driver combination at McLaren was probably the best in F1 at the time & McLaren were on the up. McLaren are now beating their engine works team supplier on a consistent basis with Lando. Carlos is now left scouring the F1 grid in an attempt to find a seat on par with those that he had in the past few years. Shame really, I always rated Sainz but it seems he could now surpass his fellow countryman in becoming the new journeyman of F1 in an attempt to secure a drive with a reasonably paced team.

He .ore or less was lucky to get an offer from Ferrari, but i don't think he wanted to leave McLaren. Why would he, the environment was good, the car wasn't terrible, he had his bestie there...
I also don't think Audi is going to have major problems with any regulations. They showed time and time again that they dominated in any motorsport they entered. Sure, F1 is a different beast to conquer, but Brown did it in 09 so why would Audi be anything but good, knowing their understanding of building fabulous racing engines. Their challenge should only be aero, and im not even sure that it will be a major challenge. Just look how they dominated LMP with thwors various cars and engines. They won with a diesel in a Motorsport dominated by petrol engines. They also have all the time and resources in the world to test out various types of aero that the regulations give them. For now, they don't even need to watch their budget for trying anything they want since they are not in the sport...

I think this has been taken too far. Both of them are super competitive drivers and it seems one person is getting more hate than the other. Honestly i really couldn't care less about who gets more hate. I'd rather see both Ferrari drivers get podiums and be free to fight if they have a gap good enough to allow that.
Team orders have always played a part and disobeying them has been seen as bad, but sometimes its not worth listening to because it'll compromise one driver for the benefit of the other. And in f1, you do not want to be a 2nd class citizen to your teammate.
Also, seeing people say that carlos disobeyed team orders and yeah even though it is negative and not good, because it gives the impression that you know better than the strategists and engineers. Furthermore, hes already lost his seat and if you anyone knows about having a job, when you leave or quit but still have to come to work, sometimes staff and especially managers will treat you differently and knowing that Ferrari has just dropped Carlos for Hamilton out of nowhere, its clear that hes done with the team and personally i dont blame him. Not having a say about it and just being let go by a team you thought that had your support into the future but doesn't offer a long term deal will frustrate anyone. Keeping the same enthusiasm and drive when your team is just kicking you out shows you like to be played like a fiddle and your oblivious to the whole ordeal.
Carlos does complain too much sometimes. Like I understand, things dont go your way and his situation on his drive is still being asked, but he has to remain focused and not let his emotions get to him.

As for Sainz' future, according to Michael Schmidt, who happens to be the most knowledgeable F1 experts with sources in the paddock that are usually right, Audi is probably not an option anymore. They originally wanted to announce that he'll be joining Williams last week already, but now Alpine also seems to be on the mix. This possibly has to do with Briattore's new advisory role at Alpine who understands that Sainz is the best available option on the grid, and if that doesn't pan out, there's also gonna be a testing shootout between Mick Schumacher and Jack Doohan.
