Many more knowledgeable than me, but that date change just changes the display. Cool but cosmetic. It does not change how dates are calculated in BASIC. The computer is not Y2K compliant, I think. These are fun little computers! Thanks for the content!
Yeah, it will be interesting to test further. I did successfully change the date with .... date$="25/01/26" ... I'm assuming leap years should be calculated correctly as that is just dividing the year by four regardless of the century. The main problem would be date-to-day of the week conversion as this is kind-of "base 7" ... ?
@@Brfff Nope. That's probably what led to the Y2K problem. A leap year is any year that is evenly divisible by 4. Unless it is it is also evenly divisible by 100, then it's not. Unless it is evenly divisible by 4, 100, and 400, and then it is. Clear as mud.
Happy Ozzie day!! And does the shirt still fit? I've been told the the little battery acts as a surge suppressor and you don't want to run your -PC-8201- Tandy without it.
the "billy" would have been refering to the old can that they'd put on the fire to boil water for tea or coffee.... ..XXXX is a QLD drink.. prolly why you cant find anything but gold here... nice job patching...
Happy Australia day to you too!

Ive been usin lithium thionyl cloride batts as replacements. Might need a diode to prevent charging.

I think it was more in reference to a "b0ng" rather than an actual billy ... just wasn't sure how to phrase it advertiser-friendly like :)
@@Brfff maybe...
the guy throwin up is classic!
There is a storage device for this computer called BACKPACK that stores files to an SD Card using a device that attaches to the RS232 port.
Thanks! I've signed up for the waiting list.

@@Brfff Not sure if they sell one for NEC, but the DaR is cool too. Dial-A-Rom. It's a ROM chip that has many popular ROM programs on it. Very cool.
