- Our trees go through so many changes during springtime and the do it at their own pace. If you are worried your tree is behind schedule or somehow not behaving as it should take a look at mine. They are at all stages of fruit development from just beginning to flower all the way to fruit set. Some haven't flowered at all yet.

Tom always brings the best energy. ❤
thanks!
I needed this😂 I was just looking at my trees with anxiety and stress. Fungus, lack of growth pretty much everything you can imagine. my girl friend was telling me to relax. I guess I’ll take your and her advice. 😅
“There’s a bug on my tree! What chemicals should I spray to kill everything” I swear people need to just chill out. Thank you for explaining this.
yeah too much fussing.
Those flowers must smell amazing!!!
The whole neighborhood smells like mango flowers. I love it
Wonderful information Tom great job 👌👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏
thx
We just planted our first trees last year, 1 Glen Mango, 2 Hass Avocado and 1 Bacon Avocado (A & B varieties). Everything I know about growing them has come from your videos. So far we've had flowers on all of them this year. Now we're waiting to see if they bear fruit. We're also in Florida and would love to visit your farm someday.
Congratulations on the trees! flowering season is so exciting. You can come visit any time you want although I recommend mango season!

Wonderful time, filled with great expectations! Great video Tom!
So true
@@SleepyLizard Indeed it is a hobby for home growers!
The ball cap keeps flipping around. Which production assistant was responsible for wardrobe? Who edited this for continuity? Who was the key grip? Who was the gaffer?
me, me, me, and me. you have to flip your hat when the sun casts a shadow on your face.
@@SleepyLizard It's time to fire the production team, and hire some union labor.🤩
Great lesson , thanks, I hope all you guys have a great mango and everything else season.
Thank you so much
@@SleepyLizardwhy my avocado juvenile plant's new leafs are bent left?
Nice to see the orange Morakniv. Nice knife.
I stuck myself with it like 3 or 4 vids ago 🤣

Im planting my first mango tree from seed soon should be ready in 3 days!! Only thing where i live on gulf coast Alabama we have incredibly thick clay soil after you dig about 8 inches down. I will have to figure out to grow in a pot or risk growing it in the ground. I will start it off in a small pot first.
yeah you need drainage.
@SleepyLizard is there a cheap easy way to make a bunch of sandy loam soil to fill a hole im about to dig for this mango tree?
Another nice educational video as always
thanks Ralph
Amazing video! Very helpful for many people, including (future) me! But the fungus on the leaves of my avocadoes still worries me. I recently transplanted an avocado tree 2-3 weeks ago. I got back from grandmas yesterday evening. And within 24 hours, it started browning its leaves out of nowhere. I checked the universal soil with my finger. This mix was bought recently, so it was fresh. But after I checked the soil, it was still extremely wet and had water coming out of it when I squeezed it. Why is it so hard to find a relativvely decent soil these days? The problem is definitely the soil. I sometimes dehydrate my avocados like I'm some sort of psychopath and still get root rot? This is totally outrageous. However, the other avocados, apart from my main one and the recently translanted one, are growing diligently.
Thanks for this video...sooo true 😎🥭👍🏽
you are welcome
yes i yes i broda TommyBoy a pleasure to see ya cheers fam

Oh man I wish i could show you a pic of a twenty year old mango that is absolutely covered in flower and fruit buds. Its three stories high
Fantastic!
I bet it looks beautiful
@@SleepyLizard thanks,love the videos
Thanks guy.
Thank you charles
You hit in the head! The advice online is out of control. Some people tell you to plant your trees close then, they comeback and said planting trees close to each other is not a great idea. But I love the drive a nail in the trunk and hit it with a baseball bat, that one is an original. Great Video! Keep them cominn, and take it easy on those Expert RUclipsrs.
stick around long enough and you'll hear about the nail and the baseball bat 🤣
Keep on Rocking brother
thank you
Thanks

do you know if there are varieties that are hardier and would survive without protection in the winter - zone 9A?
not for mango. people are trying but nobody has found one yet.
Hey there, I really enjoy watching your videos, they are very educational and inspired me to buy some mango trees. I currently have a Glenn mango tree, a “Young” Tebow mango tree , and a Phoenix Mango tree. All my tree are growing beautifully out here in the central valley of California. I have a question regarding one of my mango trees. The Glenn Mango tree is only growing vertically and hasn’t grown any branches, I would say it’s about 6 feet tall but hasn’t grown a single branch. Should I prune the top of the tree in hopes that it grows some branches or just let the tree keep growing? At the current moment the mango tree is potted in a large wine barrel so it is not planted in the ground yet. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.
yes prune the top
@@SleepyLizard thank you for your help
I live in Tampa, FL (Zone 9b) and my Nom Doc Mai hasn't pushed any new growth or flowers. I never pruned after last year's mangos, any thoughts as to why nothing yet? I know I know, I'm not comparing to yours, hahahaha, just curious if I should have pruned or not. Thank you!
It's best to prune after every season yes. My ndm trees are a little particular with flowering
I recently bought a house that already had like 6 mango trees. Now they’re producing fruit but I’m starting to think they might be different varieties but I was never told which ones are which. Is there anyway I can identify the differences? How can I know if they’re ripe without knowing which variety they are?
send me pics of the fruit. my contact info is in the "about" section.
Thank you so much for responding! I’ve been really busy so I’m just now seeing this. I’ll email you the photos now. My name is Megan and I’ll be using a different email to contact you (I made this yt account when I was like 9 years ago hence the weird username lol)
My Little avocado trees that I started from seed 3 years ago.. Last year, one of them bloomed on the very top. Could you possibly do a close up of The flowers before they start to develop. So, I can tell the difference between flowers. and new leaves. Please.
go to my channel and look for a vid I did about a year ago on the flowering behavior of avocados and you'll find a few close ups. Also there's a close up of flowers in the banner section of my channel home page.
My 7-8 foot Glenn mango tree just dropped 95% of its mangos on the latest wind storm in FL 10a. I’m so sad. Anything else I can do other than watering to prevent this next year? Tie them up? Idk 😭😭😭😭
I lost a lot to wind this year too. you might try planting some wind break trees around the edge of your property. it won't stop the wind but it slows it down.
My flowers dried up like some you showed should I pulled them off or prune or leave it alone? I’m a new gardener and it’s my first mango tree
You can leave them. Hopefully you'll get a second flowering.
@@SleepyLizard thank you so much
My 9 yr old seedling is finally flowering. Hoping for at least a couple of fruit.
yes!
I decided to see how my main avocado tree would respond if I let the soil dry out way more. I used to water it every 5-6 days, sometimes even 4. But I waited about 46 DAYS until the trunk started to become wrinkly. But this time, I also mixed in some granular fungicide. I know I know that taking back on the watering by 7-8 times sounds harsh, but it was still late winter. The pot got very light. Whenever I'd dig with my hand to check the moisture, a lot of the particles would fly into the air and this particle or dust-like soil would make me sneeze, that's how dry the soil was. Why I severly dehydrated my tree you may ask? Well, whenever the tree had root rot, after underwatering, the tree would recover. And I don't mind some drying up parts of my tree, as long as it's not excessive. I also applied a fungicide on two of my other avocado trees.
This fungicide was very strong. Like, I applied so little amount into a whole liter and the entire liquid turned fizzy and white. I'm no scientist, but I think it usually means that it's poisonous when digested or can burn your skin when you touch it, unless you wash it. I have to be careful when mixing fertilizers or fungicides, or insecticides, etc with water when doing so, because it's not very safe.
Btw, expecting a video tomorrooooow
:}
hopefully
💪
What can we do about that fungus or mold I have leaves like the one you showed
depends on what you have. sometimes sulfur, sometimes copper
I would like to know if you can grow mango in a huge flowerpot. I am not sure I am saying that right. I live in a state that gets really hot.
yes you can, in fact go look through my recent "shorts" and you'll see a huge mango I have going in a pot.
@@SleepyLizard Thank you for responding so quickly. I will do that. I had subscribed to your channel but haven't had enough time to look through your other videos.🙂
Good day, do you sell dried mangoes.
I do not. I experimented with different ways to dry them last year but to do it commercially I'd need to invest in some serious equipment.
