What a hypocritical and disgusting thing to do, criticise Bevo’s professionalism, then in the same conversation tear someone down for their physical appearance, this is the type of journalism that shouldn’t be welcome in sports, nothing to do with anything other than to harm an individual’s mental health for something unrelated to the sport

Luke sets himself up for criticism with his separatist approach to the competition that employs him. He's hopeless at handling the media and his rants and mishandlings of said media over the years are an embarrassment.
@@GG-kc6ie No matter how much the guy is bad at handling the media it doesn't mean they should take digs at his appearance, he has never missed a press conference after a game and he was out of line for his dig at Morris yes, however he criticised the man's professionalism in how he went about his job, here they're criticising the man's appearance, absolutely disgusting no matter how you cut it
It’s pretty rich for all of these journos to be harping on about Bevo (and critiquing his physical appearance) nearly a week later when one of their own was dropped for something far worse. If they had any sense of integrity, Tom Morris would be the story - not Bevo.

Bevo is supporting his club and his players. I have nothing but respect for him to go out and publicly scrutinise journalists and stick up for his club. A good coach no matter the internal problems will always back his players in public and I respect him for that. Bevo I believe is probably the most genuine coach in the AFL, he cares about his players and his club and how they are being portrayed in the media. This footy classified segment is toxic in itself and the type of media bashing that Bevo is against, how pathetic in 2022 judging a coach by his look and that seems to correlate to his professionalism to coach his side? That's ridiculous...
And I can tell you this a lot of coaches/players/AFL staff have these views on the media, however they can’t say anything because of this whole cancel culture world we are living in where if the majority of the people don’t agree with you, then you will be axed. Bevo ain’t afraid of that and I applaud it.
The bottom line is Bevo is one of the most selfless coaches to back his players in public against any journalist or headline, that is a sign of a coach that cares about his club. I have nothing but respect and admiration for Bevo.
You can protect your players without being personal in attacks. Its the media's job to find out whats going on at clubs and who is playing or has been dropped. Attacking a journalist for reporting that a player has been dropped, is a little nutty.
So John Kennedy would react like that? He is an embarrassment to his club. His resignation from the Coaches Association says it all. The bloke is a narcissist.
Looks have always correlated with professionalism. Most common jobs tell you to maintain a certain level appearance especially with regards to facial hair. If appearances didn’t matter, you wouldn’t see everyone wearing expensive suits to functions.

Spot on. Clarkson was another, fiery, but a players coach through and through and the four premierships speak volumes. Love to see Beveridge snag another premiership (and I'm not a'dog's supporter) before his coaching days are over, if only to shut up these clowns (Lloyd excepted).

AFL media is a joke. They seem to not have an issue bringing down the person who leaked the video (which everyone should agree was the right thing to do), but don’t take a hard stand against fellow journalist Tom Morris, double standards.
leaking the video isnt the right thing to do, megan got caught up unfairly. The reason it even got leaked was because he had a falling out with the friend and it was leaked with the intent of getting back

How Caroline Wilson still has a career after her butchering of the Adelaide crows pre season camp which turned out to be rubbish and all she issued was a half arsed retraction. Players got traded and coaches lost jobs due to her gutter journalism.

Meg Barnard had absolutely nothing to do with Tom Morris' duel with the Western Bulldogs. Shame to whoever dragged Meg into this mess. It's hilarious when Caro says "why would anyone want to be a sports journalist when you get spoken to like that". She does realise that most of her "journalism" is trying to get coaches fired. Good on Bevo to stand up to one of the worst sports journalists going around.

Previously I had taken Caroline Wilson's reporting on face value and considered her comments to be fair,
and for some time I have wondered why there is such a large degree of angst against Caroline Wilson (especially from Victorians), now I know why ?
Having a more alert reflection on some of her earlier reporting I now see her her as a hypocritical hack.

The Bevo brigade came to comment section I see, I think a few people need to go take their meds and chill out. You can't say the guy doesnt get unhinged on more than a few occasions which will obviously generate media attention lol he's not immune gets the same treatment as any other coach.
The media hold the coaches to account , but know one holds the media to account so they go on causing damage to the industry.
