It's the little details that keep this house so original and the one missing thing was this hardware. It was great to see how much Heather has already been able to find.
@@leaguekempnerhouse Yes! Serendipity! Omega Salvage in Berkeley? Unfortunately they are closing their doors for good. It was a fun place to explore, glad they had something for the Mansion! I love the idea of using mixed antique door knobs and hardware in the servants areas. We actually did that in our modern home. It was fun collecting the knobs and actually less expensive than buying new.
Those are so pretty! Great you were able to find them. I can see why you need a spreadsheet, lol. It's so easy to have a brain fart while looking at those catalogues, and later realize you ordered a bunch of the wrong size. And unlike lumber, you can't just shave off a bit...it has to fit exactly. We had a single pocket door between the kitchen and dining room in the 1958 mid-Century house I grew up in. There was a similar push handle in the side of the door. Congrats on finding Heather. She's a gem.
I am quite shocked that we've found as much as we have. They weren't as popular as some other hardware. Heather is such a big help. She's been amazing and is such a pleasure to work with. She loves this house too.
Attention to details! How wonderful! Tremendous finds Heather!
What a fun, amazing and frustrating puzzle!
I know. Who knew there were so many sized and similar knobs.
@@leaguekempnerhouse I'm just impressed you are still able to get your hands on some!! What a good network!
@Wonderful that you're finding what you need. Good luck on the rest.
We have time. I'm sure there's more out there.
What a treasure you have with Heather.
Best wishes as you move forword.
She's a real go getter and no stranger to restoration in Galveston. She's been a big help.
Great news so happy to see these pieces.
I can't believe how much Heather has already found.
Great job Heather! I know finding the hardware must be a time consuming job. Thanks so much for your efforts!
It really is! She's done a lot of work.
knobs and knockers, they will shine up nice 2x 👍
So happy for you. A small coup. Details will be so important in the end.

Thanks for watching! It was so exciting to see some of the original style hardware.
It’s so surprising all the little details that most people don’t even pay attention to. Yes so much artistry goes into it
I love all the little details. Everything has an element of art to it.
