Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing ones’ financial security or life style. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
Hypothetical Performance Disclosure: Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. for example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results.

I’m down 70% on my Alibaba shares held over many years. Thanks Chinese Government! I know one country I will never invest in again!

Hi Sheila, I’m a subscriber on patreon. What are the risks of Chinese companies like JD, Baba, DiDi, etc and other Chinese companies manipulating their financial statements?

As far as I know, western audit companies are auditing most Chinese companies in US. You should rephrase your question to ask how competent and honest these western companies are.

@@turcoboshnakElizabeth Holmes, Nikola, Enron, Worldcom, and the most recent SBF of FTX fame. This pretty much paints a clear picture that "Western" companies or audit companies are just as rotten or worse.

Thank you for your subscribe at first. As for this problem, I'd like to say there more or less exist the financial irregularity of these companies. Taking Alibaba as an example, the SEC investigated Alibaba's finances a few years before. The result is that there are minor details that lead to non-compliance, and the impact is not specific enough to be reflected in the share price. As far as I am concerned, the companies themselves are unlikely to take a big risk of faking it, instead it's the merchants and stores who are probably more likely to do it that influences the GMV data.

I've got a little personal portfolio, selling an Apple call for some profit and buying 1 to 2 year calls on a variety of Chinese indexes (FSK, ASHR, MCHI). These valuations just seem a little too low and you can get a really modest breakeven (3-5%) two years out without putting down much cash. If we see both earnings growth AND multiple expansion (not that unlikely with some of these valuations) the profit would be wild in comparison to the cash wagered. Planning to sell half the calls opened for modest profits (7+%) if given the opportunity, and be greedy with the other half.
